If it ever goes on sale for like $5 then go ahead and try it out. Basically the whole game is go into an area (one area per day) forge/ battle for ingredients, go back to the tavern and try to make some stuff out of what you gathered, open tavern, go to bed, repeat day. Basically its like the Android version but more expensive and a different story line. If you want to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Outstanding Dungeon Cook RPG From KEMCO & Rideon" Marenian Tavern Story. This game is a wonderful RPG about running a Tavern by making unique dishes in a Fantasy World. It is the latest work of a series which gained popularity as Adventure Bar Story. As you may know, Rideon who created this game once participated in Gust's Atelier Series. It shows that they already have enough experience to create great medieval fantasy games. The Marenian Tavern Story is a collaboration between Rideon and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story is good, the chars are sweet and the game looks nice. Its fun gathering the resources and making some nice dishes with it. Watching the money rolling in. EDIT: They fixed the fullscrreen problem. We can now use fullscreen. Thats why i added brrackets to my original BUT-post (BUT! the resolution of the game is very smal and there is NO option to change it! Its like a game from 15 years ago! The game has been made with Unity so there shouldn´t be any problem to have some options…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(Please note that I've sunk an additional 15 hours into this game for the Switch and iOS/Android versions, so some of my review is based on the game across all versions). Version Differences: -The iOS/Android version is cheaper, but requires more grinding as there is a premium currency available for purchase in this version (jewels, which are handed out much, much more freely in the Switch and PC versions, whereas they trickle in in the phone one. The game appears to be fully beatable without…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an entire RPG based around one cooking minigame and I've played so, so many hours of it. If you're a completionist, this is the game for you. Collect every obscure ingredient, solve every character's goofy anime problems, fight every weird monster, find every recipe or work them out yourself. All it takes is time. I love it. I'm not even sure why. It's so satisfying to figure out recipes and collect fantasy meats and marine grasses and make a million types of tiny pixellated sushi.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Each day in the game you pick 1 location on the map to explore and gather ingredients, and then you cook those ingredients to stock up your tavern in the evening. Pros: Attractive, clean anime portraits and great pixel monster designs Some unexpected depth, e.g. you have to switch recipes up regularly or customers get sick of them. There are quite a few secret chests hidden around the game. There are lots of spells to use in combat with various abilities, etc. Lots of milestones which…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would LOVE to give this game a positive review, but it simply doesn't derserve one. This is a lazy mobile port w/o enough functionality and effort put into the PC port. Let me list it up: - Enemy encounters are way too high - Resolution is questionable - Diamond system is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Overall, this is a fun game but only least of the times.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is fun, but the sort of grind that only those of us who find repetition soothing while we think of other things can enjoy. If you're really into hitting buttons and knitting at the same time, this is for you! Though, good luck without using a recipe guide. And, I mean this with all sincerity, screw the random jewel drops. You can tell it was designed with a cash shop in mind... Story is cute and unobtrusive, and I love the characters, though. Meandering as this was, I hope it was of help.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It really is a sequel to Rideon's previous game Adventure Bar Story (2012) on iOS. Gameplay and premise is basically the same between both games with an upgrade on the graphics. I'd wait on getting the game when it goes on sale though. Also the keyboard controls are a little weird so it'd be great of there was an option to change keybindings.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is an okay game, the main problem is that. The game's story doesn't really get started until after your restaurant is ranked 10. This takes a long time to do, let alone not enough materials drop. So, it is constantly a slog. My guess is because how this game was originally developed for mobile, so those practices are in play to try and encourage spending. Taking out that portion of it, it left the game just proceeding slowly. I advise if you play this game, to download cheat engine. Find…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wanna play an RPG that is also kinda built around Harvest Moon style cooking? Level up by eating delicious food (battle xp only teaches you skills). This game know its premise is silly and just rolls with it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I had a more comprehensive review written but Steam wiped it when I switched to a "no" recommendation, so this one will be more concise. Bad English translation, short and shallow story, and a end-game slog of a grind for little reward. What few chuckles the game elicited (usually with Coco) was lost in short paragraphs of weird phrasing and janky storytelling. The crafting and farming subsystems are a waste of time. In game rewards are also useless by the time you get them, and filling…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun but time consuming game that reminds me of Reccetear for its aspect of gathering ingredients to sell in your store. The plot is short and you get what you see on the back of the package. Note that this is a port from the mobile version Gameplay wise the controls are ok. Leveling up your characters doesn't really give you a reward as you get more rewards for beating the same monster over and over again, this is because you unlock skils by collecting a certain amount of points based on 5…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hmm, I faced a difficult boss in Marenian Tavern Story and ALMOST had it but I died before the final blow... Normally I would ragequit and cool off but the game offers a cheat retry and I used it, but it made the victory feel hollow 🫤

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A grind heavy JRPG that still manages to charm you with its pleasant graphics, story and gameplay. You gather ingredients, cook meals, sell them, repeat. While repetitious at times, overall enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far so good. Music is cute and graphics are easy on the eyes. Haven't gotten that far myself, but right now I like the gist of the story and can't wait to see what the game is like as I progress. *Will update this if anything changes*
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hmm so I bought Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom as my side game so I wouldn't get burned out from the FEFW marathon but... it is even identical to Marenian Tavern Story than I imagined and idk if I'm in the mood for that lol. Guess I'll leave it in my backlog and think of something else...
unlabelledView post →Pretty inoffensive. Gameplay loop is fine but I got bored of it really quickly. Maybe I'll come back to it one day. It's on mobile stores and you can tell it has mobile gaming dna but it's far from the worst. Premium currency has been un-premiumed which is nice vut can create tempting shortcuts. Found the battle system extremely repetitive but the cooking goes into a lot more depth than I thought. Not a game for me at this time but I wouldn't write it off totally. Kid friendly? - Y NSFW? - N…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want a turn based, cooking management like game, so try any of the Atlier series games. They are build better and the story is actually worth getting invested in.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8. Marenian Tavern Story: I played this on a console port but it was so charming and a nice little lite jrpg/shop management game with low pressure and stakes. It's a sweet story on top of it as well, and at least on console port I super recommend it if you like turn based jrpgs.
unlabelledView post →If you can get this for under $5, it's probably a good deal.... Half price at $19? It's not ◑﹏◐ (I ended up refunding) I gave it a try, the story at the start was similar to Recettear, business gone tits up, dad takes off to make money and the kids have to set up a store with the help of a... Creature A lot of the dialogue is blocky and not very engaging. Game needs vsync or something, I got a lot of screen tears which was making my eyes a bit screwy (⓿_⓿) It is very grindy: go get materials,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine if Pokemon jumped out at you every 10 seconds, not just in the tall grass or caves. That's how this game's combat feels and it's awful. Sad, because the gather/restaurant premise was really fun. People who love pointless grind will enjoy this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There are a few good features of the game I like, but overall it's boring and outdated game play. + The story is interesting and I really like the art. The controls are easy to learn and learning to play overall is a nice casual style. - Random encounters while exploring is so 1980's and 1990's. We are past exploring areas and attacked at random. It's distracting and frustrating. I like to dive into the game and discover hidden areas, but I hate stopping every few seconds because of a…

unlabelledView post →Been having fun on this game. Its not rated for steam deck yet but it plays well on it. I had the mobile version of this game and DS version with a different names. its fun on the steam deck to play for a casual rpg with cooking element . Think the music could have more variety thou.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute resource gathering, turn based, rpg/tavern sim. Explore 1 dungeon per day, gather resources, cook and then decide to either eat those dishes (only way to level your character-fighting earns you points towards automatic skill upgrades for combat) or sell them in your tavern. Dishes either will sell well based on season or popularity-sell too many and the popularity will drop so I like that aspect in that it makes you think a little bit more about what you cook. My favorite part about the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun, easygoing, and lots of cooking! A great game that i am going to spend hours playing!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has some grinding if you like that then this is a great game with a cute story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very pleasant and comfy RPG/restaurant manager in the vein of Recettear and the Atelier series with literally hundreds of dish recipies. Grindy but a game like this would be.
