positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game to play with my friends, but I didn't know you had to make a Paradox account for it to work. The Paradox servers are not working so it's impossible to play online co-op. There was nothing in the description saying that you had to create an account... Just a waste of money if you plan to play online co-op.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scam. Paradox just wants one things, selling your data in the most shady way. I don't even know what the game is about since it's blocked behind an account wall that does not even connect to any paradox server. "we adhere to DSGVO" my ass. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scammers
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game is very very good the negative reviews are from Turkish People being mad about something else
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much worse than the first game and forces you to make an account to play online. And they still won't fix Magicka 1.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Atatürk ve Türk milleti hakkında hadlerini aşan tutumlar sergileyen paradox interactive firmasına ait oyundur.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Requires Paradox account! Campaign took 4 hours to finish, messing around included. I don't find any reason to play it again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Our Stance Against Disrespect, Historical Ignorance, and Anti-Turkish Hostility: An Open Call to Paradox Interactive Management and the Steam Gaming Community The scandalous attitude displayed in the official community channels of Hearts of Iron IV a game marketed under the banner of Paradox Interactive with claims of historical realism is not merely an isolated moderation error. It is a clear demonstration of historical ignorance, ideological malice, and organized disrespect targeted directly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing online coop is not possible because you have to log into a Paradox account. The Paradox servers are not reachable so online coop is not possible.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Magicka 2 has a PERFECT magic system, but it is rather short, so i must ask - is anyone out there making a game inspired by Magicka? (or maybe Noita, i know @codered-dev1.bsky.social is making a game inspired by Noita) if you are making one, please share! I'd love to hear about it #gamedev #indiedev

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game requires a Paradox Interactive account to play online, and does not disclose that requirement on the Steam store page. You cannot play multiplayer with another player on steam unless you sign up and provide an email address, and even then, if you get errors about their servers being down, you still cannot play with friends.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game seems really fun and unique in a way, but unfortunately it cannot connect to the servers and therefore be played in coop. Wish they kept the support for old titles, especially those where cooperative play is essential.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like the first game, great initial idea, uniquely satirical narrative, with a deep system of physics-based magic and skill-based cross-player combat interaction. Sadly, between all the bugs associated with even playing Magicka 2 with just a mouse and keyboard, the PC version is highly NOT recommended. Controller support is not much better, Steam Deck play is not supported (though possible with a lot of button remapping) none of which even accounts for the in-game performance issues. These…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The magic system is really fun to play with and well done, the levels are very simple, but nice, enemies are fun and I do enjoy the game, so I really hesitated to post a negative review. However, there are way too many annoyances: - Paradox account to play online? Why would I need that on a PC?.. - No support for Playstation controllers at all => after messing around with Steam simulation etc. I finally had to abandon the hope for playing local co-op. Which is one of the strong sides of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Paradox allowing its official community server to target a player for using Atatürk as their profile picture, followed by the remarks made about Atatürk, is unacceptable. History can and should be debated, but treating players and a country’s historical figures with this level of disrespect is unacceptable. Paradox’s handling of this situation has seriously disappointed me. Since it is also infested with DLCs (as per Paradox's ridiculous business choices), I don't recommend anyone buy this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You can't play with friends because you have to make a Paradox account, and you can't make a Paradox account. I tried going directly to the website to sign up, clicked the link in my email to confirm and....can't confirm account repeatedly. contacting support requires an account.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Until Paradox fires that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ moderator and publishes an apology for Turkish community because of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥'s nonsensical acts on Discord, I will boycott Paradox, and all the games that have their branding on them.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →And here's my new #gameidea ! Have you thought about mixing the chaotic Magicka 2 with the tactical Into The Breach ? I'm thinking of a magic combat game with a huge amount of spells that rewards experimentation and combining them, but where you also have to deal with the unknown side effects. 1/5

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game. but the community is the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i have ever seen in 1 place.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TONIGHT! I'm gonna be live at 6:30 PM PST with @mossflwer.live, @jestertaiga.bsky.social, and @filthteacasual.bsky.social playing Magicka 2 for trans lifeline and kicking off the Wizard festivities! See y'all then!
unlabelledView post →The spell system is a cool idea, and the co-op concept has a lot of potential, but the actual gameplay gets repetitive pretty quickly. Combining elements and experimenting with different spells is fun at first, but there isn't enough variety to keep the combat interesting for very long. The controls can also feel unnecessarily awkward, especially when things get chaotic. With multiple enemies, effects and friendly fire happening at the same time, it can become difficult to tell what is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A review actually about the game. It is fun and completely chaotic. Super fun to play with a group of friends casually. Creative and fun spell combination system.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →HUGE GARBAGE GAME DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After the first game, I thought I’d give this one a try, but I ended up having pretty much the same issues. It runs poorly and keeps crashing. The elemental powers don’t feel that great to use either. I was hoping I could play it with my friend, but unfortunately, it just didn’t work out.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Paradox Account required for Steam Co-op. A little silly to have that requirement in, not sure why we can't just use Steam. Not recommended if you're looking for a simple game with friends.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Incredibly disappointed. Nowhere near as fun as the first game. The colours are far more muddy and muted so you can't see anything after you leave the first level; the enemies have more ability to control the field than you do via constant gap closing jumps/dashes or poison puddles and wall spawning; every single enemy rushes you down or leads big AoE ranged attacks that frequently apply poison or fire; nearly everything is immune to being pushed away so you can't create space for yourself;…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this, BUT I also understand why someone would uninstall it after 20 minutes 😂 I remember playing a lot of the original Magicka, and I had such a good experience with it. Going back to this one, I was a little nervous. I only had about 2ish hours of playtime before revisiting it, so part of me wondered if there was a reason I never stuck with it. Thankfully, I had a fantastic time coming back to it after so many years. It was way better than I expected, and honestly, the game still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Magicka 2 is fun—I played it before, finished the story, and came back to play it again after a decade. It’s a classic and enjoyable game, though it still has some minor bugs. You don’t need a Paradox account to play online with your Steam friends; you can simply use Steam’s built-in Remote Play feature and send them an invite. 10/10 would cast thunderbolt even there is no enemy.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Magicka 2 keeps the fun spell-combination system, but the overall experience feels weaker than the original. The combat can become repetitive, the controls are still awkward, and the game lacks the same charm and impact. Fun in short sessions, but hard to recommend overall.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Magicka 2 is one of those games that sounds better on paper than it feels to actually play. The spell-combination system is creative, but the controls are clunky, combat gets messy very quickly, and half the difficulty comes from trying to execute what you actually want to do. Friendly fire is funny for the first few hours, but eventually it just becomes another source of frustration. Enemy encounters are repetitive, difficulty spikes are inconsistent, visual effects make fights hard to read,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is not worth your time and has very limited play pattern. do not ever consider to buy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No nice comments for you until you apologize for the racism directed at Atatürk.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Peak, 10/10. The game knows what it wants to be and nails it in every way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: +Plenty of scope for creativity when it comes to spells as it always was with magicka. +A lot of unique enemies with their own weaknesses and strenghts. +Interesting boss fights that do not share same pattern. +Graphics and animation improvement compared to first game. +The UI is convenient and easy to operate. +Player can choose with which robe/staff/melee would like to start which in first game was huge issue. +Funny dialogues that fill the gameplay rather than focusing on combat only.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming just like the original Magicka 1, while still adding new things and quality of life features. Its in a much better state than Magicka 1 currently is in, if you want the true magicka experience this is a better beginner game to start with, then moving onto a community patched version of the original game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dev team are amazing! Submitted a ticket for a broken backend issue regarding account linking. Aside from that, game is as fun as it used to be! Want to be an Invoker in another game with friendly-fire? This is it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Requires a paradox account to access multiplayer. The magic system seems fun but it's too fiddly to properly get a hang of
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its like they sold the IP to a completely new set of devs to make a console version of Magicka 1. They took away many of the things that Magicka 1 fun but also nigh impossible to play with a controller (like the vast number of spell variations). While they were at it, they took away the vast majority of interesting/quirky weapons/staffs. But worst of all, gone is the humor. I frequently got a good chuckle out of everything from the Monty Python references to how the in-game language…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chaotic spellcasting co-op fun. Mixing elements to create wild spells never gets old, especially with friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Magicka 2 continues the series’ focus on chaotic spellcasting and cooperative play. The core mechanics revolve around combining elemental inputs to create custom spells, and this system remains both deep and unpredictable. The game expects players to experiment, and as a result, no two encounters feel identical. Combat is fast and often unforgiving. Mastery requires remembering elemental combinations under pressure while dodging enemy attacks. Friendly fire is always on, which can lead to…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →paradox banning people just for having an Atatürk pfp is literally insane wtf is wrong with you guys you make history games but ban us for showing the founder of Turkey Atatürk isnt some random dude you can just debate about hes the father of our nation and completely off limits im not buying or playing any of your games until you stop this bs censorship and unban people
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is racist and absolutely disgusting that, despite the incidents on your Discord server, you have failed to apologize. On top of that, your developers described Atatürk as a “controversial figure.” This is disgraceful behavior toward a highly respected leader like Atatürk. I will never purchase any of your games or products again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Takes away the freedom to cast ANY spell from players unlike the first game, massive step down from the OG. Vlad is still not a vampire tho
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Magicka 2 Helldivers BG3 Solasta Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime Untitled Goose Game Castle Crashers Also if you have an Xbox, PS2, or Gamecube lying around, I can't recommend Gladius enough, altho I think the tutorial section is mostly solo. Still, it's a hidden gem!
unlabelledView post →The game used to be great. The best of it's time. But after seeing how the company treated the first game (which is literally unplayable today), I would not trust buying this game today...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has the best magic system I've ever seen in any game, it really makes you feel like a wizard with the limitless spell combinations you can pull off. Single-player is fun to mess around in, but the later levels become very unfair in difficulty, so play this game with a bunch of friends if you can because it is so much more fun, and the game was clearly designed around multiple players.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The first one is many times better, in terms of controls, graphics, almost everything, although I must say about the state of the first one, it is in a worse and almost unplayable state, but if you install the old version, you can enjoy the first one of magicka, but the second one doesn't have the same charm.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Missing out on a lot of what made the first game great. I'll warn anyone looking to get Magicka (the original) that it crashes more than any other game I've played. That being said, the first game felt quick, dynamic, and impactful to play while this sequel feels like they've smoothed away everything that made it exciting. To put it in magick terms, Magicka was "Boom! Woosh! Zap!", Magicka 2 is "thhhhhh, swoooosh, and babababa" That being said, Magicka 2 is More. More spells, more robes,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This publisher is now "relaunching" games to force people to buy the game again and enjoy new dlc while taking the original off sale even though the relaunch is a worse game than the original. I used to really enjoy paradox games and could tolerate the DLC spam but this is one of the most disgusting anti consumer practices I've ever witnessed. Would refund everything from Paradox if I could.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →just buy magicka 1 if you want chaotic fun game, magicka 2 is a downgrade in every aspect
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dear Paradox Team, First of all, I would like to congratulate you. You are, without a doubt, the most brain-dead company I have come across recently. Thanks to you, I have finally realized that the people running such large corporations are not as experienced, knowledgeable, or cultured as one might think. You have proven to me that life and becoming an executive at a company have nothing to do with intelligence or knowledge. Due to the stance and decisions you have taken regarding the events…
