unlabelledView post →I was privileged to work on subtitles and closed captions for the the movie Lupin the Third: Prison of the Past, which heavily featured Yuji Ohno's music. Man, iconic. Crazy to have had his work at any point in my lifetime.
unlabelledView post →Another chalk art flashback as we approach Anime Central 2026, this one from 2013, I made a Lupin the Third mural for the film “A Woman called Fujiko Mine”. I was honored to make this recreation. If you saw it in person, what did you think? #LUPINTHETHIRD #fujikomine #chalkart #anime

unlabelledView post →DAMMIT, that's right. Val Kilmer was also Simon fricking Templar in The Saint movie. Master of disguise, crackerjack thief, an antihero with a slight conscience. Basically, an English version of Arsène Lupin and Lupin the Third. That movie was so great. So damn fun.

unlabelledView post →Imagine if in the Lupin the Third vs Cat's Eye movie, instead of Lupin's crew looking more like normally proportioned Tsukasa Hojo humans, the sisters looked more like Part 3 or Lupin the IIIrd Universe characters.

unlabelledView post →okay but genuinely zenigata and the two lupins is kinda nuts. Like just a really good film that impressed me greatly. Lupin the Third as a political thriller is such a bold choice but oh it WORKS. OHHH IT WORKS SO GOOD
unlabelledView post →Forgot to mention this, but last week my cousin invited me to see the latest Lupin the Third film. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting, but it was still quite enjoyable.and the mystery to it calls back to some of my favorite entertainment from the early 2000's. Worth a watch.

unlabelledView post →Anime needs to look cartoony again. Fun character designs, fun facial expressions, fun animations. The new Lupin the Third movie, while really good, is sorely lacking this.
unlabelledView post →This Star Trek clip was a clue for Lupin the Third. First was the episode title... But if you looked up the onscreen actors, you'd find someone important to the Lupin movie.
unlabelledView post →Rarely is there a musician that is as singular as Yuji Ohno. I can always spot when he did music for a movie (although it was somewhat rare for a non-Lupin the Third production). His music always made those movies better. R.I.P. to one of the greats.

unlabelledView post →So, now that the Koike movie series has ended, what comes next for Lupin the Third? More TV specials? A Part 7 for the 50th anniversary of Part 2 (which is the 60th of the comic, too) in a couple years?

unlabelledView post →Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro: on the opposite side of the coin as Mamo, Lupin as a romantic adventurer. Hayao Miyazaki does the unthinkable and depicts a sentimental Lupin at the end of an arc. Often meekly imitated and rehashed but never close to matched. A classic through and through.
unlabelledView post →Lupin the Third: The Mystery of Mamo: the franchise's first animated movie, represents Lupin at his most feral. A movie powered by pure id, absolutely peak cartoon. The 70s was a period of Lupin of all colors and they'll never go this big or weird again. Essential viewing.

I'm someone who's been in ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 with this weird, silly, yet super cool & loyal samurai for nearly half a century ever since pt.2 of Lupin the Third went on air. My name "chiK" comes from the film "Goemon's Blood Spray" which reads "𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗸emuri no Goemon" in my language Japanese.
unlabelledView post →Sad to see that Lupin The Third "Goemon" voice actor Mike McFarland has died. When I was involved in a Jim Carrey Lupin live-action movie back in the '90s, his calm voice for the character was always in my head when penning that role. RIP, Sensei. bsky.app/profile/thep...

Lupin the Third: The First: This is how you do a 3D anime while still being visually close to the source material. Wonka: A fun feel-good movie with catchy musical numbers. #Filmsky
unlabelledView post →I do not recommend Lupin the Third (2014), the live action movie, as a whole. It's not a good movie. I DO recommend watching the 7 good minutes where the main three actors really embody the characters they were playing.
unlabelledView post →QTP with a gif of the show/movie you watched Lupin the Third: The First is the gold standard on how anime can be translated into modern CGI.
unlabelledView post →I watched "Lupin the IIIrd the Movie: The Immortal Bloodline" without knowing much about the Lupin the Third franchise and after seeing this film I now understand the world of Lupin the Third significantly less, but man what a ride. I gotta say, I recommend it.
