60 of 81 · most liked firstIf you're anything like me, you'll see the plane in the pictures and videos for Lou's Lagoon and go, "oh that's awesome! An open-world flying game with crafting! Naturally you'll improve your plane as you go!" Instead the plane here is solely limited to an overworld that only exists to facilitate traveling between the game's different islands. The world isn't open, this overworld is entered via a loading screen and you'll land at each island by approaching it, pressing a button, and then taken…

unlabelledView post →I really wish I could recommend this game. I love the world, right off the bat. There are two things holding this game back: Crafting Time and Mass Storage options. As of right now some items take MINUTES to craft as a single item. If you make stacks of items you are waiting for longer than Leo waited for a grammy. This would be borderline fine if there was anything else to do but gather materials, but the storage is holding you back from doing that, explained in my next paragraph. At the…

unlabelledView post →I really wanted to like this game. I played the demo, and was so excited for the release - it gave me such a buzz of nostalgia for PS2 games and cartoons I watched as a kid. But the game doesn't live up to my expectations. Other reviews have covered major issues - inventory space, getting locked out of quests, missing quests, crafting times. Other issues that put me off this game: The absolutely ridiculous price to fully upgrade the gadgets. I've done almost all the quests (except one I'm…

unlabelledView post →It is, overall, a fun game. However, I cannot recommend it to anyone prone to exploring. I´ll elaborate: I have encountered serious issues which made game completion impossible for me, or at least it looks like it. When first boarding my plane, I did not receive a ring challenge tutorial - either that, or it wasn´t mandatory and I skipped it. Either way, I spent a good while exploring the map in my plane, collecting chests and stuff. I continued my exploration and stopped pursuing the main…

unlabelledView post →I was so so excited about this game but sadly it's fallen short of what I hoped it would be. Cost of upgrading gadgets is nuts and it's SUPER GRINDY. You need to constantly be gathering things to sell things to upgrade your stuff to gather new things to sell those things to afford more upgrades to get on with the story. I know that's not uncommon in cozy games as I play a lot of them but in this game it's truly excessive. It's just not fun. It feels like a way to slow down the gameplay so you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →wait to buy till they fix some stuff. storage is a major issue (even 10 hours in), flying the plane is basically a cutscene, mashing the keyboard, then another cutscene. trying to climb up things, or jump from one place to another is rage inducing, load times are ridiculous for how often you have to open a new area. honestly, if i wasnt over the time limit id ask for a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- Feels like an unfinished Early Access game - At the time of writing this, the game is full of severe progression bugs and lacks basic quality control. For example, if you finish the main story before completing all side content, key NPCs permanently disappear and lock you out of quests and achievements. It shouldn't have been released as a full 1.0 product in this state. Wait for patches before buying, or avoid it completely
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok so I've played enough of this now to say with confidence that this is a really fun game and the bad reviews are people who either have little patience for normal gameplay bugs or are upset they can't keep absolutely everything they gather. It is true that inventory should be bigger (and they have said they are addressing that urgently and first). BUT. There is almost no reason to keep some materials on hand because you can either go get more, pay a drone to bring you some, or buy them…

unlabelledView post →So far Lou's Lagoon feels like a PS2 love letter! Needed a game like this 💙 Hopefully the gameplay stays fun but so far it's very worth it as an adventure/crafting game #LousLangoon #NintendoSwitch2
unlabelledView post →Great game it was worth waiting for, if you like Critters Cove you will like this game too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I backed the game and was excited for the gameplay, but it has various issues that make this a not recommend. The crafting is tedious and grindy (a lot of the later game unlocks are VERY expensive), and the economy needs to be balanced better. The crafted item that makes you the most money (based on ingredient purchase/scavenge and crafting time) is Bolstered Wood, one of the very early unlocks. Everything after that is only useful for unblocking progression and quests. Another big hit for me…

unlabelledView post →August 28, 2026 - There's an option to turn off analytics, but when you reload the game it has turned itself back on. I wouldn't mind, but it doesn't say exactly what information it wants to collect. It would be nice to know what it wants and for the setting to respect how it is set. Flying with keyboard and mouse is a bit difficult. I found that slowing down seemed to help, but it is rather fussy to get the plane to level out. There are a bunch of balloons and things that can be collected…

unlabelledView post →The demo did not require any 3d platforming, so I had no idea what ahead of me. I have a disability that makes platforming games difficult for me, so I normally avoid platformers. This games has some very difficult platforming in several sections that I was not expecting. It is not listed as a platformer. I was so excited for this game and had been looking forward to it for a long time, so I found the unavoidable and quite difficult platforming infuriating. I am unable to finish the game as I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2026-Aug-30: Core gameplay of collecting materials to craft is cozy and I should like it but the side quests are boring and I only do them to get currency for tech tree unlocks. You can keep gathering and crafting I suppose to build yourself a nice house, but without an interesting story and world and life that feels pointless and you can't build a big estate either. The plot of land you are allowed to build is very small and your crafting machines take up space. You could build a house on the…

unlabelledView post →I enjoy the game to a degree. I would NOT have purchased it if I knew it had platforming. I do not enjoy that type of game, so I don't purchase them. At this point, I don't know if I will manage to finish those quests that require platforming. It's not fun for me. I also don't enjoy the limited storage. You can't craft any storage chests at all. It sucks bad. Other than those two very important items, I enjoyed other aspects of the game. Take note if these are deal breakers for you.

unlabelledView post →In desperate need of QoL improvements - limited storage, creation time etc is all just tedious. The progress of quests makes no logical sense and you just find yourself doing quests in a weird order and then finding yourself stuck. All of the QoL issues just ruin the fun. Try Chop Chop Inc, it does it much better.
