Edward Lionheart, a Shakespearean actor, is enraged that his latest play did not win him any prestigious acting awards from critics. After an unsuccessful suicide attempt, Lionheart is rescued by a group of drug-addicted hobos. He then sets out to murder all of his critics, each with a different style of death taken from a Shakespeare play.…

positive · AI labelView post →I don't know why everyone suddenly forgot, he's an MP with a constituency If we give shit to Nigel Farage about not holding surgeries, the same should apply to the King of the North, who sounds increasingly like Richard the Lionheart. The real one, not Sean Connery from that movie

He wrote the song, in French and Occitan versions, to express his feelings of abandonment by his people and his sister.

neutral · AI labelView post →It might be my favorite MJW movie. It’s a great updated riff on the HARD TIMES / LIONHEART template.
neutral · AI labelView post →THEATRE OF BLOOD. Edward Lionheart was one killing away from ridding the world of a bunch of absolute arsehole "critics". So close...but he failed on the last, and worst one.

neutral · AI labelView post →I just remembered another fantastic book/series. The Tripods! And the prequel is really, really prescient. It would be great if a remake film or TV series of both The Tripods and The Brothers Lionheart could be made. With all those spare dragons kicking about you'd think it'd be quite easy 😆

neutral · AI labelView post →More vintage postcards with Loretta Young and Henry Wilcoxon. Together they starred in the 1935 Cecil B. DeMille film The Crusades. Henry played Richard the Lionheart, with Loretta as Berengaria, Princess of Navarre. One of Wilcoxon's last films was 'Caddyshack' in 1980 playing the Bishop.

neutral · AI labelView post →If I were at home right now I'd be throwing on Mr. Nice Guy. Probably the first film I really noticed him. Though the first movie I probably saw him in is actually Van Damme's Lionheart (which would've been A.W.O.L. on video in Ireland).
neutral · AI labelView post →I suspect most people's thought process was no more complicated than "Richard the Lionheart? Who? Oh, yeah, he was good in that Robin Hood film, wasn't he?"
neutral · AI labelView post →I think HARD TARGET is a close second but the best movie JCVD has ever been in may be UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: DAY OF RECKONING it’s just not a JCVD vehicle like LIONHEART & HARD TARGET.
neutral · AI labelView post →Heh, there was a movie I watched with my grandmother when I was little called The Brothers Lionheart, similar to this in that a lot of the plot pivots around child death, and siblings. But also I think it’s better that I watched it with my grandma and not my Mom because my mom would have lost it.

negative · AI labelView post →Watching every movie released in 1987: Lionheart with Eric Stoltz and Gabriel Byrne A reasonably fun action adventure which I might have enjoyed as a kid but is probably too slow for newer generations. 2nd movie of the year for Byrne and a 1st for Dexter Fletcher (what a career he's had).

neutral · AI labelView post →Did we just track the short lived and ill advised “bum fight” phenomenon of a decade ago all the way back to Lionheart. Between that and the weird back ally homeless drunks this movie is chocked full of social commentary.

But marón, the score! That music during the finale when he's running up the road sends me every time, it's glorious

neutral · AI labelView post →Not necessarily my favourite but he was so unsettling in Green Room, an already unsettling and relatable film. He was also Sejanus in I, Claudius. He played Scrooge, too. He was a king for Brooks' men in tights as Richard "Lionheart". I'm going to miss him so much. Oof.
neutral · AI labelView post →Lionheart, or AWOL as I know it on VHS, is not an amazing film (bit of is pretty good) but the theme by John Scott absolutely slaps and elevates an otherwise kinda disposable click into something I still listen to 30 years on

neutral · AI labelView post →In the mythical land where nothing was ever lost I wonder what Lionheart would’ve done with Mission To The Unknown. Specifically for the movie edits. Would they have just tacked it on to Galaxy 4? Imagine the shock of that, watching a regular 4 parter and then you got 20 minutes of Daleks at the end
neutral · AI labelView post →#11 Lionheart I'm sorry to say... the fight scenes are pretty bad. Definitely a product of it's time (this movie is released in 1990). Though there's a certain charm in this movie that not a lot of modern martial arts movies have.
