So, playing this is very much the classic Lego game experience and not nearly as beautiful and polished as the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do not recommend this for Steam Deck, as there is an echoing issue. Changing the proton version does not resolve this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have 50 hours played on years 1-4, I wanted to wait until I 100%'d the achievements before I left my review. I'll keep it short and simple, this is the BEST LEGO game of ALL-TIME... I've played and completed almost all of them, and this one is superior (along w/ years 5-7). All of the puzzles, the quick builds, changing characters, the character skill types and most of all the level design, EVERYTHING is quite literally perfect in this game. Most games that make you sink this much time into…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game runs well, and the performance is better compared to the originals. The story follows the movies while giving some book lore and characters. If you like Harry Potter I would recommend playing this game. However, the collection has an audio bug that is present in both of the games. It causes LOUD pops or brick sounds seemingly triggered by anything at random. I have tried multiple fixes available online and none of them worked for me. It is a known issue and in my opinion an…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun game but it is TERRIBLE when it comes to achievement hunting. I've seen bugs that entirely restrict access from areas in the the first game's main world. I've started a few different saves just hoping to somehow avoid them, but even after many tries and much troubleshooting, it's impossible to get 100%. If you just want a fun LEGO and/or Harry Potter game, it's totally worth a try. If you also want to 100% the game then be prepared for some trouble.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth it if you own the original games. I thought this would at least have support for greater than 60hz at 21:9, but sadly it doesn't look any better than the original game. I regret purchasing this. Otherwise, it's a great game if you don't already have it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a Lego game; fun, charm, and satisfaction from picking up shiny thing is literally baked into its DNA. BUT, its extraordinarily easy to soft-lock yourself from getting 100%, namely in years 1-4 because of devious Flitwick and his evil hatch. DO NOT ENTER THE HATCH WITHOUT A DARK MAGIC CHARACTER, -12 hours. There are a lot of glitches in general: infinite death loops, spells sometimes not working, consistent crashing in Flitwick's classroom (what's with this guy?), etc. Their far between…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Runs Perfectly fine on linux very happy all the settings work as intended the only thing you need to do is add PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% to your launch options if you have audio stuttering due to the new pipewire audio defaulting to 4800khz compared to the game being written for 44.1
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's buggy. The issues happen constantly. The game is constantly extra dark, in some areas it gets better Occasionally you hear a LOUD noise / BANG. (There is an .ini in appdata/Roaming that might fix this) The second game, years 5-7, keeps crashing when you hold to cast spell
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is so buggy it's shocking, from key items not spawning to crashes and scripted sequences breaking. I had two character tokens become unobtainable in the library section, halting my quest for 100% completion in Year 3. I would not recommend this game, as you could be wasting your time only for something critical to randomly, permanently break in some way you never saw coming.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Unless this ends up cheaper than both of the original games combined, just get the original games. Here's my review as someone who's played both Lego HP games from the original games as well as the collection: You get nothing new out of this, only quality taken away. My experience with the collection is significantly worse than the original games. Graphics: The collection boasts enhanced graphics, and while this may be true, I haven't noticed an improvement. And if I had, their benefit…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nostalgic. Some of the levels are pretty fun, and others are just the most boring and dumbest thing ever, so it's fairly mixed.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine buying a game that includes two games you already own. The publisher claims it has enhanced graphics, but it's mostly just extra fog and lighting. To be honest, in HP 5–7 the changes are barely noticeable. And then they price it at the most ridiculous amount. ohh...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you don't own the original games, not a bad deal, but if you do, skip it. It's truly a shame that they just wrapped both games with a simple launcher instead of combining the actual games like they did with Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 for the Complete Saga. The graphical changes are nice but minor and don't really change the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is basically a warm blanket for your brain. LEGO Harry Potter Collection is what happens when childhood memories, LEGO humor and zero stress collide. You don’t play this to sweat. You play this to turn your brain off and smash furniture with magic. Combat? Exists. Difficulty? Nah. Fun? Constant. You’re running through Hogwarts, breaking literally everything, casting spells like an unhinged wizard and thinking: yeah… life was simpler back then. Perfect couch game, perfect…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game bc of nostalgia but it really tricked me, The game is unplayable crashing on the least possible things ever, for example in "The Mirror Of Erised" in the year 1-4 game when u get to the cutscene the game crashed i tried all possible solutions that I found nothing worked, if u want to get this game for the nostalgia then get it for the lowest possible price bc it's not worth it

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I first played LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4 and Years 5–7 on PS3, if i remember correctly, they were actually my first platinum trophies. I loved those two games so much that i ended up getting the platinum trophy again on PS4, and then, a few years later, i bought them on Xbox Series S and completed them both 100% for the third time. After all this time, i still consider them two of my favorite games, not so much because of the gameplay itself, but because of the memories tied to them. A…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not a fan of Harry Potter games but I'm a fan of the movies. It was super fun to play the story line, was a bit much when grinding out the rest to get the 100%. I do wish the Achievements better told you what game they were from. I played most of it on the Steam Deck and it ran wonderfully, I recommend making the back paddles a secondary bumper to change spells, I did to so my hands rested more comfortably.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay i got a long story to tell with this one. When it comes to the first 10 Traveler's Tales Lego Games ( the ones before voice acting) There's only 3 i hadn't played before, Pirates of the Carribean (because it was crashing on the first level) and both Harry Potter games which i didn't really get invested in the films at the time. Fast forward to this year and while introducing my mom to various kinds of games, i figured lego games would be fairly straight forward as for the most part its…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm changing my negative review to a positive one 😊 The game was crashing frequently...I contacted Warner Bros. Games support, and it turned out it was just the screen resolution that wasn't right 🙈 (the default was 2880x1620, but I needed 2560x1440 So many problems from such a small issue )) In my defense, I'll point out that I tried changing the resolution before contacting support, but I couldn't do it with the gamepad (which is weird), and I didn't even think to use the keyboard 😅 (I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is like any of the Lego games but this time set in the Harry Potter world. You can play through each of the movies. It was originally released as separate games, not it includes the entire set, but with a launcher in front of them. Overall it is a lot of fun. Like any Lego game, to collect everything you have to play through at least twice. First play the story, then clear the castle to get the red bricks and extra characters you need like a dark character, then play the story again in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great for nostalgia!! BUT there are a lot of bugs that can possibly prevent you from getting a 100% run and force a restart. I have one of those from a student of peril that is glitched out and I'm at 98.5%. It's a little frustrating to say the least.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →17.5 hours into my 100% completion run (doubling back after beating all missions, spending hours doing puzzles and unlocking bricks/characters), I am soft locked out of 2 characters and a gold brick (dumbledore’s office). GG. This game is a buggy mess, and they even didn’t bother to fix some of the softlocks people have been complaining about for 16 years before repackaging the game as is and selling it again. Incredibly disappointed
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is very buggy and jittery at times. It is not worth the price just for the graphics to be higher when the gameplay itself is more rough than the original games. If you own the original games, play those over this. The only benefit of this game is better graphics and achievements.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Years 1-4 is a decent game. Graphics are outdated and some of the puzzles, mostly the ones with big blocks you have to turn into stairs, are pretty jank, but it's fun. its a lego game, its gonna be fun. Don't buy this if you want to get past year 7. There's a shader bug, something to do with lighting, as it turns up mostly in scenes with windows or outdoors, but it covers the screen in random stretched out polygons and renders the game virtually unplayable. I was able to finish slughorn's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite this being a new release, not even being 2 years ago, this game still has a metric ♥♥♥♥ ton of bugs from the PS4 collection. I'm at 97% and I am softlocked from 100% because the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Slytherin common room has an invisible wall blocking me from going in, like, fellas, is it really that hard to fix a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 11 year old game? Only positive is that I'm fairly certain your file won't corrupt upon getting to 100%. With the PS4 collection, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I have 2 experiences of getting…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Verdict: Really enjoyable collection of games spawning all HP movies. Recommended to any Potter or Lego fan with no issue (Especially if you can grab it on sale as it goes down to 8 Euro) + Positives + + Steam achievements (84, at least 2 playthroughs (story and freeplay)) + A lot of characters + Some sections are genuinely funny + The soundtrack + Years 5-7 improve the game a lot in terms of gameplay + A lot of collectibles + It's a blast from the past – Negatives – - No steam trading…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starting this review I must state that trans people are valid and I absolutely despise J.K Rowling. I think it is hard to separate art from artists sometimes because in this situation, she did not make the game, she only holds the IP for the game and the people at TT Games created this using her IP. Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 is a port from the original games and is also weirdly buggy. Yes I enjoyed the first game, it is an OG LEGO game which makes it fairly mindless, I believe this is one of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Seems like a good lego game, but in about 1 hour I experienced two crashes and a bug that completely bricked my save file. Unless you're running on older hardware I'd stay away from this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely overpriced and boring, game also has an audio bug that makes a loud popping sound constantly and it never got patched even though hundreds (if not thousands) of people reported the problem. Blatant low effort money grab.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Crashes constantly. Extremely unstable. Installed/Uninstalled multiple times. Played with the settings. It was a slog. Year 1-4 was the worst. I advise looking at the resolution settings and playing in window mode to get past some areas that crash continually. It was what got me through, before being able to switch back to normal settings. Years 5-8 crashed occasionally. The biggest issue was very slow loading times and in some areas (Ministry of Magic) slow stuttering when a lot of…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unplayable due to glitches. Year 5-7 no matter all the reddit tips I've tried I can't get the kid to ask for the ladle and can't move on. Year 1-4 was fun until now it won't stop trying to make me play two characters off the same device no matter what I try. It's a great game on the xbox, and would be on steam if it worked.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a lifelong Harry Potter fan, this collection is an absolutely wonderful experience. I’ve played these games countless times back in the day, and even now, every single replay brings me just as much joy as the first. The Pros: Faithful Storytelling: The levels are brilliantly designed and do a fantastic job of covering the entire Harry Potter saga, perfectly capturing the events of all eight films. Lovely Character Roster: The characters are designed with so much charm. It’s incredibly fun…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lego and Harry Potter—two things I love—but this game is not worth it at this price. If they had made some improvements I could understand, but that’s not the case.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For being the second re-release of a "remaster", this game sure has a lot of original assets. The vast majority of textures and icons are still original low res files. Very minor lighting changes in the first game, the second game just looks wack. Bizarre design inconsistencies and soul crushing slow painful gameplay. I love when i spend money on a game that forces me to watch cutscenes every two seconds that rip control away from me. No, I did not actually want to play the game I bought, thank…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Peak if you don't have the originals in your account as it combines both games, makes you feel like you are harry potter, just one that is made of bricks (bricked up if you will, im sorry).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, let me start by stating that I have NEVER played a Lego game prior to picking this game up. In a million years, I would never have imagined that I would love this game, and LEGO games, so much! I bought this as part of a sale, and being a big Harry Potter fan, I figured it was a no-brainer to jump on this game quickly. From the very beginning of the game I was absolutely hooked on the style and feel of the game. It was smooth and worked well with my style. I played this mostly on…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lego Potter game collection if you even just Like Harry Potter Movies buy this fantastic follow the film perfect Lego game, you like me will be saying "This is the Bit Where" all the time... tip do not get the separate games (Buggy) This is the one you Need !! Good Luck
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game if you like lego games, but it's a very lazy remaster. Still I can't bring myself to dislike it. The game is fine, the main issue I have is that despite it being a remaster of the old game the issues plaguing the original are still here. For example spell rotation, if you buy a lot of spells that take the same slot, going through all of them is a unintuitive chore. Buying character is also very badly designed, especially in years 1-4, it's an one direction scrollable UI with 200…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LEGO Harry Potter is something I actually didn't get to play as a child. Not for lack of interest, but more lack of money. As an adult I wanted to finally try it out and while overall the game was fun, I have some things to say. Pros: - Both games don't rely on you to use almost exclusively one character that is like a catch all to collect things. For example in LEGO Marvel Superheroes I found myself using Iron Man for a lot of things, making the overall experience feel stale. - The game…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Impossible to play! I already found out I should not go to certain areas in the map or the game would crash, but now even during story it will crash which it is impossible to keep playing ... Update: Had to replay the mission again and the same thing happened... Of course Steam does not give my money back, because I have played over 2 hours... Well isn´t like the game crashed before, so I have paid for garbage.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is great Game! Nostalgia and you have ghost with Lego ghost Coins that lead the way! Super easy and fun. You can play drunk or chill and have good time with no problems Best Lego games! multiple Spells to progress but its al in good layout. Want real challenge play Hogwarts Legacy for combat and real explore. Instead play this game for easy Fun and spells with good times. Only problem is Harry is the only one who can do everything!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After reading the books, watching the movies, going to Harry Potter world in Universal, and now rereading the books, I feel pretty qualified to talk about this. It's fine. I played 1-4 on the DS and this was entirely different than I remember it. And it's not bad, but when you play so many lego games back to back to back to back to back, it gets stale pretty quickly. Im hoping this new Lego Batman game coming out is going to feel refreshing compared to these 2 games. And like I said, it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An excellent port with all seven years! Lots of fun and excellent sound staging with a signature soundtrack. I certainly enjoyed unlocking all the characters for this!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game. but its broke. unplayable. keeps crashing. cannot progress any further
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yes, great chill game to relax to especially if you're a Harry Potter fan or maybe just a LEGO fan.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →used to play this on the demos they had at walmart where they made you stare up the screen
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a very old game that originally comes with a 60 FPS cap, but like many older games, there are mods, patches, and hotfixes that can improve the experience. I downloaded the Ultrawide mod, and it completely fixed the FPS cap issues for me. It also allows the game to run properly at ultrawide resolutions, which makes a huge difference on modern displays. Overall, the game is definitely worth playing, especially with two players. Playing it solo isn't nearly as fun, but it’s definitely a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literally only bought this because everyone was saying it actually has proper mouse support unlike the individual games and what do you know? It doesn't.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →decent game to buy as a lego and Harry Potter fan on a deep sale. 10/10 for the game. 6/10 for this version (encountered a lot sound glitches which affected gameplay in a negative way. moreover, heavy fps drop at one of the levels in 5-7 part of the game for a 10+ year old game is wild). PS I did NOT encounter any game breaking bugs, as far as reviews concerned, i think it depends on hardware ig.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honest review: HP 1-4 crashes more than it entertains. The dialogue from the movie doesn't start until 5-7, and even it crashes a fair amount. If you are a fan and can handle losing progress and the rage brought forward by random crashes, nab it and give it a go. Otherwise, just watch the movies.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is ok but it's not meant for kids. It's mostly frustrating. No manual save. Sometimes you have to replay a whole level because you did not do the ONE thing that triggers a save. You can't skip cutscenes either. Do not recommend. Even on 90% off its to expensive.
