It was great playing it back in 2011, and it still holds today (well, except maybe for the blurry sprites). The only issue, just as with the previous one, is the price tag. It may be worth it at full price if you are a long time fan. Otherwise - I'd recommend waiting for sale. As much as I love this game, the price is a bit high.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a fan of the series... well... I must say that I am a little disappointed but still It is a good remaster overall. I have finished normal and phantasm mode on normal and it was quite a pleasant experience just like in the original game. When the first remaster came out I was very happy with new additions such as voice acting and new support character. Sadly this time there is almost no new stuff. Pros: - Quite archaic but still quite good classic Castlevania gameplay. - Great voice…

(ฅ'ω'ฅ) "Koumajou Remilia II: Stranger's Requiem impresses with its stunning visuals and nostalgic gameplay, but falls short in innovation and depth, making it a mixed bag best suited for Touhou and retro-platformer fans." Intro : Koumajou Remilia II: Stranger's Requiem is a game that finds its roots in the beloved Touhou Project and brings a delightful mix of gothic horror and action to fans. This sequel enhances the experience with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: - The game itself, which was released in 2010, is really good. The voicework is masterful with famous VAs, the art is incredible, but I highly suggest getting it on sale because you can beat it in about 3 hours. - You can play as Reimu from the first game after clearing the final stage, but it felt like the devs didn't polish her enough (Lack of damage from most partner skills, no save points from playing from Stage 1, no voices from Steam's Scarlet Symphony, etc) - There is a Boss…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know what folks see in this sequel. Its fundamental problem is that it dilutes down what makes Castlevania and Shmups fun with some really needlessly incompetent decisions. First is the stamina gauge, which means that you have to manage your ability to fly. This is a decision that shows that they weren't creative enough to actually craft bosses that respond to flying without constraining the player in an extremely uncreative way. The problem with the meter is that multiple actions,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →On every conceivable level, an enormous improvement over the previous game. Definitely worth a play, with only the slightest hesitance that you must understand the price to gameplay length ratio going in.

[Anime/Touhou/Action] "Koumajou Remilia Ⅱ: Stranger's Requiem" is a 2D platformer action game by Frontier Aja / CFK Co., Ltd. Based on Touhou's worldview, as Sakuya, explores the enigmatic castle and reveals the mystery. Surely this is a sequel, but you do not need to play the prequel to have fun, it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Metroidvania + challenging + great art/music = Castlevania with anime infusion. Side scrolling action with challenging Touhou project bosses. Use sub weapons to help out and hover to dodge bullets. [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35180752-3-point-play/] Follow our curator for similar games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best fangames from back in the day, finally getting a Steam release. It hasn't changed much since its first release from more than a decade ago but the game has aged well. A really good platformer game that every Castlevania and Touhou fan should try.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a remaster of a Touhou fan game first released on December 30, 2010, and it is the sequel to "Koumajou Densetsu: Scarlet Symphony". It is a very straightforward platformer with linear progression and no RPG elements. On the whole this game is simple in structure, and fairly short in duration. It can be completed in a few hours or less, and unfortunately there isn’t a lot of replay value aside from simply getting better at playing the game. However, I think that it is still a very…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, it's challenging with awesome music and character design, might be my favorite Touhou doujin game series.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought this would be like a metroidvania, IT'S NOT. This is a missions/levels based game where you go into a somewhat linear level and beat a tough boss at the end. The only metroidvania there is to the game are the visuals and some of the combat, outside of that it's not really a metroidvania. If you are like me and like metroidvanias where you get to explore, unlock abilities that let you get to areas you couldn't previously, this is not it. Many reviewers here compare this to a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →🍜 A great sequel to the legendary «Touhouvania», but this one is a bit of a mixed bag. It has flaws that were fixed in the first, as well as some minor non-gameplay bugs. ABSOLUTE overprice for an old 2010 indie game, only for the biggest fans. Would love to see a threequel, but given the long wait for a re-release of these (and the rare patches), it's unlikely to happen. However, it's still a game with a stunningly great soundtrack and superb character designs. It's a little longer and has…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imported this game a few years back and had a ton of fun with it, glad to see its easily accessible on Steam now. I would say the price is a tad bit steep but it certainly warrants a chance if you can nab it on sale. I'm shocked I didn't hear that they had brought this game to Steam even 6 months since release, glad I found it by accident.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From the number of reviews, it looks like Koumajou Remilia II's release has attracted much less attention than the original did when it finally came to Steam. It's unfortunate because, back in 2011 already, I could see that Frontier Aja took a good look at the first game and sought to improve it. Sakuya, now the protagonist, is more agile (also thanks to not having a needlessly long walk cycle) and her jump physics much less iffy. Flight, while still useful, can no longer be done indefinitely…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game 104: Koumajou Remilia Ⅱ: Stranger's Requiem The sequel to Scarlet Symphony and I'm sad to say I liked the original more. That said, this was also much more challenging and had a lot more QOL features added to it. Love how they wrote Sakuya Izayoi tbh. May be my favorite version of her ever.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Years ago, I played a large amount of this game. To be clear, I beat Phantasm mode. If you don't know what that means, it's fairly crazy. You have to beat the whole game on the hardest difficulty, unlocking a shorter, single-run mode with pretty extreme difficulty. This is one of the hardest games I have ever played, and one of the most fun. It's a simple, classic castlevania game with fantastic art and voice acting. It may seem expensive, but in my opinion it's well worth the price, as long as…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Koumajou Remilia Ⅱ: Stranger’s Requiem, developed by Frontier Aja and CFK Co., Ltd. and published by CFK Co., Ltd., is a deliberately old-school 2D action platformer that leans heavily into its gothic influences while embracing the identity of the Touhou universe. It doesn’t attempt to modernize the genre in a dramatic way; instead, it refines a familiar formula built on precision, timing, and persistence. The result is a game that feels like a love letter to classic action platformers,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THE BEST 2HUVANIA Remilia mode when tho
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literally, it is the first game featuring the cast from Touhou 6 to 7. Better enemies, mechanics, and extras overall. I just don't like the fact that your flight is limited.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Koumajou Densetsu II: Stranger's Requiem is a much stronger realization of the idea behind Scarlet Symphony. After playing the first game beforehand, the improvements are immediately obvious. Larger stages, tighter mechanics, better movement, stronger presentation, and more elaborate bosses make this feel like the sequel Frontier Aja was building toward. It still wears its Classicvania influence proudly, but the addition of Touhou-style bullet patterns gives the combat a much stronger…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →fun game play dont need to play first if u dont want to
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pardon the short playtime at the time of review. I have played the original release of this game back in like 2011 I don't know how many times or how many dozens of hours. It's a lot. I'll update the review when I get the chance to see in detail what has changed. This game is also often called Touhouvania 2 and it is a huge improvement over the previous game. The controls are better as is the enemy placement and overall mechanics. It is done in a linear early castlevania style and is fairly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Originally bought it for the Art Background. It's actually fun. going to play the og now.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is broken on Stage 4. Let alone, not much going on in it. It is pretty much one of the most barebones games out there. Which is like eh, but nothing much to it. I'd like to get through it, but as I said. It stops working on Stage 4 boss.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am not a fan of the writing. The game play is fine but but boss battles really seemed (thus far) to be more twitch fest and learn from previous attempts style. even the first boss has attacks that just appear ontop of you. Honestly, is there wasn't 30 lines of dialog when I meet someone which with the script just annoyed me, i'd be more into it, but for $30, I really wish I had just never seen this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3: Koumajou Remilia Ⅱ: Stranger's Requiem This was *far* better than the first game. Better stage pacing, more balanced subweapons, and more on the nose with the homages. Very fun "clone" game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yukari is so sexy, and I want to hug Flandre Scarlet, she's so cute and safe..... I guess.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the flying could use abit of work and time stop is buggy just play Touhou Luna Night its better in every way BUT this game have Suika Ibuki in the extra so its instantly a 10 out of 10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid Vania-like w/great artwork, classic doujin. Like the linear Vanias w/the controls and combat mechanics of an Igavania. Difficulties tough from big hitboxes and short af i-frames, but the combat and flow are so good you'll keep coming back. This is a great way to experience Stranger's Requiem. The original runs fine on modern Win but you'll have issues w/Xbox pads unless you use a key mapper. This release fixes that, looks great, plus you get the convenience of multiple languages. You…
