Night Shyamalan's movie adaptation (Knock at the Cabin), and his involvement with First Word on Horror. #horror www.horrorgeeklife.com/2025/02/20/p...
unlabelledView post →One that immediately comes to mind is Knock at the Cabin because of how horribly the film adaptation butchered the novel's ending. The original Cabin at the End of the World ended with an affirmation of queer love; Knock ended with save-the-children bury-your-gays bullshit. I was actually ANGRY.
unlabelledView post →Books to film 📚=🎞️ The Cabin at the End of the World (2018) by Paul Tremblay was adapted as Knock at the Cabin (2023) by M. Night Shyamalan. The book retains mystery and ambiguity as to the state of the world & the antagonists motivations, which the film clarifies & explains. 🏠🪵🗺️ #filmsky #booksky
unlabelledView post →That's true. But Blockers and Trainwreck are a part of what I'm describing. He's content to mostly stick to the same basic character; a *jovial everyman*, basically. I don't see him ever wanting to tackle the stage on Broadway or play Macbeth, or anything for "serious" actors. He's just happy to be doing his thing. And hey, that's fine and dandy. More power to him. I see Bautista as someone who (Ironically I wasn't a fan of at all in GotG) legitimately *wants* to climb that acting ladder.…

unlabelledView post →This movie came out 8 months ago but maybe you'll find my new review relevant because it is trying to be a horror movie and it's October now? Anyway, here's what I thought of M. Night Shyamalan's Knock at the Cabin Door youtu.be/_JwUxH1uRUQ
unlabelledView post →Knock at the Cabin was M Night Shyamalan’s best film by far.
unlabelledView post →I'm so frustrated by Knock at the Cabin. Bautista is genius casting, one of the few working actors who can ride that line of gentle and terrifying, the tension is top-notch, and that tension is ... rooted entirely in a question that the film answers way too quickly and clearly
unlabelledView post →The Visit got a lot of buzz as a return to form for Shyamalan and to my dying day I will never understand why. PUTRID movie that makes me angry at M. Night for subjecting us to it. Knock at the Cabin made me just about as angry - it's just about as bad as The Visit *and* ruins a novel I loved.
unlabelledView post →Watched KNOCK AT THE CABIN, such a strange movie. But my crush on Jonathan Geoff still endures.
unlabelledView post →I don't know that it's the best film. But Batista in Knock at the Cabin is the best performance by a wrestler.
unlabelledView post →Not surprisingly given the new Shyamalan movie this week, my review of KNOCK AT THE CABIN is getting some extra traction, and I’m happy for every additional person who knows I think that movie is a homophobic piece of shit. boxd.it/3NrCyT

We didnt get to the one we were most excited about but plan to watch it today; Bring Her Back! We made a chicken shawarma recipe and it was SO good Then lots of ice cream🤤
unlabelledView post →Proper mixed bag this week. Never quite know how an M Night Shyamalan film is going to land, but Knock at the Cabin didn't quite do it for me #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched #filmsky

unlabelledView post →11. Knock at the Cabin (2023) By far my favorite Shyamalan film since, I dunno, Signs maybe? And Dave Bautista's best performance yet. Watching this in a year with back to back hurricanes and a resurging pandemic and a plane that fell out of the sky is a Big Mood. 4/5 horsemen of the apocalypse

unlabelledView post →Dave Bautista is very good in the god-awful Knock at the Cabin movie. Euphoria season 3 looked great. I love Saru on Star Trek Discovery. Having a bunch of multicolored Lantern Corps was a good idea.
unlabelledView post →I was disappointed in A Knock At The Cabin, but Dave Bautista absolutely hits the role out of the park, the shining gem of the film (along with Kristen Cui, who I thought was a quite impressively talented child actor)
unlabelledView post →I finally watched Knock At The Cabin and I was disappointed that it was ... better than I expected XD I was hoping for a more confusing experience like with Old where I was like "I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but my mind is blown." Then Knock at the Cabin was just...a good movie. Goddammit
unlabelledView post →"What's your favorite movie?" "Kiki's Delivery Service." "I haven't seen that. I'll check it out." Dave Bautista's character in KNOCK AT THE CABIN died without seeing KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE. In case the film wasn't wrenchingly tragic enough.
unlabelledView post →We watched KNOCK AT THE CABIN tonight & it was such a great movie! It kept the best parts of the book & enhanced everything else. Great performances too.
unlabelledView post →Alert! The e-book of THE CABIN AT THE END OF THE WORLD by @paultremblay.bsky.social is on sale for just $2.99! If you saw the movie KNOCK AT THE CABIN, now's your chance to read how the story really ends! https://amzn.to/43sHFPL

unlabelledView post →I remember watching Knock at the Cabin and the queer couple decided to destroy the family they had created to save the heteronormative world and I immediately thought, "No queer person came anywhere near the writing of this film." ha
unlabelledView post →Film 23 (2/4 based on Novels) of The Twelfth of #Hooptober: Diary of a Madman. My distaste for Shyamalan's style and hostage/torture flicks kept me away from this one, but Paul Tremblay's work always deserves a shot no matter the medium imho. #NowWatching Knock at the Cabin (2023)
unlabelledView post →The Boo Bucket sometimes rhymes. Last night was a home invasion movie I didn’t much care for, and the very next film it served up was Knock at the Cabin, which was not perfect, but blew the doors off Sick in almost every respect. I actually liked this a lot. It was TENSE!
unlabelledView post →Knock at the Cabin (2023) Fuck that movie so much It’s like, “What if Pat Robertson were right about the gays causing hurricanes” multiplied by lazy Shyamalan obfuscation of character motives, and direction to rob every actor of humanity
unlabelledView post →Tonights movie, Knock at the Cabin. I remember being half interested when it was in the cinema, might as well.
unlabelledView post →I kid you not but Strawberry Shortcake: Berry In The Big City was shown during an R rated movie called Knock At The Cabin by M Night Shyamalan himself.
unlabelledView post →Have not seen Knock at the Cabin or Flight Risk. The Brotherhood is a pretty decent mob movie that I don't think many people know these days. I'm actually a fan of Jurassic World: Rebirth. It took a lot of flack, but I actually think it's one of the best of the franchise. Not great, but good.
unlabelledView post →Knock at the Cabin is the most cowardly book to film adaptation I've ever seen 🥴 If you're going to change things that much just make up your own damn story and let someone with a backbone film it properly. (See also: World War Z, which deserved so much better.)
unlabelledView post →I'm watching this one ASMR video from a couple years back and the woman is talking about seeing A Knock At The Cabin Door and she seems under the impression this is a 5th film in the Cabin Fever series? maybe? this is tripping me up intensely
unlabelledView post →Just watched Knock at the Cabin. Cool premise, set up, with it being Shyamalan I thought the twist would be that they were fanatics and it wasn't real. The targeting of gays for the crime of having a happy life was a kick in the teeth. A spiteful and vindictive film, wish it didn't exist.
unlabelledView post →Knock at the Cabin just came out on Netflix and let me tell you… It’s an okay movie, was really cool seeing Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff and Rupert Grint acting again. Highlight: Jonathan singing, I miss your Spring Awakening days. Anybody who’s a movie buff or seen the movie wanna chat?

unlabelledView post →"It's rare to see a child killed in a horror movie" Sure, if you exclusively watch horror films made in the US with significant studio backing. (The changes to "Knock at the Cabin" STILL piss me off)
unlabelledView post →I really enjoyed him in Knock at the Cabin (2023) despite it being an overall average suspense/horror movie
unlabelledView post →Good morning Bluesky Tribe. 🌧️☕ It's a nice cool rainy morning here. Makes for a perfect setting to watch a movie. This morning's selection is : Knock At The Cabin. #4k #movie #physicalmedia
unlabelledView post →Underrated film is also a hard category but for this one I'll say Shyamalan's Knock At The Cabin, which I thought was both one of the best directed films from the last decade and also devastating in its emotional power. Underrated film, underrated director.
unlabelledView post →21. Knock at the Cabin (2023) I don't think it quite grabbed me as much this time, but still maybe my favorite Shyamalan movie? The Visit would be 2nd if so. That MCP podcast episode hasn't come out yet though.
unlabelledView post →What is your discomfort movie? A movie you saw one time and said okay, never again? Bo Burnham: Inside (2021) but if that doesn’t count, Knock at the Cabin (2023)
unlabelledView post →“A Knock at the Cabin” wasn’t a great movie but he was really good in it. Playing off his physicality with intensity but also gentleness.
unlabelledView post →#100HorrorMoviesIn92Days film 10: Knock at the Cabin boxd.it/npL2
unlabelledView post →I recommend the book over the movie for Knock at the Cabin. Shyamalan always has to explain everything and answer every question which takes away from the source material and erodes its strengths.
unlabelledView post →Day 51 of #bluejaysinmedia In the suspenseful film Knock at the Cabin you can see in two scenes a blue jay sun catcher in the window of the kitchen! The first time is around the 13 minute mark.

unlabelledView post →Movies! Doing some catching up on the M. Night movies from his modern comeback era that people generally like. left with some very mixed feelings, especially with Knock at the Cabin! Great looking movie, very well-acted, but boy was everything to do with the gay couple really obnoxious to me

unlabelledView post →It's crazy how M Night Shyamalan's Knock at the Cabin is a movie about how an innocent gay guy has to die to prevent the biblical apocalypse and it's weirdly /not/ homophobic. I have mixed feelings about the movie (genuinely God can go fuck itself) but yeah.

Night Shyamalan from a screenplay co-written with Steve Desmond + Michael Sherman Based on Paul G. Tremblay’s 2018 novel📖 “The Cabin at the End of the World” 🌟 Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge
unlabelledView post →I think it’s cool that Jonathan Groff has worked with two of the main actors of the Harry Potter trio. For context, he’s worked with Daniel Radcliffe in a Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along which won both of them Tonys and Rupert Grint in the M. Night Shyamalan film Knock at the Cabin.
