60 of 182 · most liked first3 years Two PC's and 3 different Video Cards and I still can't get the game to load past the menu. I can't get a refund but maybe I can dissuade others from wasting their money on this game. If you buy it your gambling your money on wether it will run on your system. Save yourself some time and money and buy something else.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game had the potential to be amazing. Instead, we were given an untuned and buggy catastrophy. I LOVED the first King Arthur and sunk 100+ hours into it. I had to force myself to finished this game despite the numerous fatal errors and poor graphic performance. In the end the game fails and is not worth the price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a pretty cool game. The game could have been very enjoyable if the devs decided to actually polish it and fix the thousands of issues that will cause the game to crash for absolutely no reason. It's unplayable, my loading screens give me an error for no reason, whether its after a battle or after trying to load a save it will crash whenever it feels like it. Even moving units makes it spazz out and crash. Im glad i got this for only 6 bucks. I don't know who in their right mind would…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't know why so many people hate on this game i haven't had a single problem with the game no bugs or crashes. To me the game is like the total war series with fantasy elements to it and the rpg/storytelling pulls you in if you take it for it's worth and for the price of 10$ its worth checking out but i got this on sale for 2.50$ and i feel like it was well worth it.I recommend this game to anyone who likes the total war series but wants more a fantasy side to it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After a certain point, the game becomes buggy and crashes often, and the battles become the same formula over and over. And before you think the total war association means it's good, there is no management at all. You get gold from battles that you then spend on units, no management or province development at all. Overall, fun in the beginning, but boring when you reach the max upgrade on units.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beware: like me, you may be unable to actually play this game. For some reason, the list shown under "New Campaign" remains empty. Although this is a known bug, none off the proposed fixes online worked for me...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game in itself is a pleasure to play. It is a game not for someone who are looking for RTS battles or empire management. Those aspects are only superficial. The main meat of this game is in its roleplaying aspect. In other words, you must immerse yourself into the role, love to listen to story, you have to think about your decisions. Such things are the strong and the main aspect of this game and no game which I or most people know comes even close to this aspect. If you like an idea, game is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game could have been great, but the framerate sucks, it's like playing a slideshow. And I play Rome 2 on Ultra just fine. It was fun and interesting while I could force myself to tolerate the bugs, crashes and godawful framerate issues, but only ten hours in and I just got way too fed up with all the issues. Wasted money. I recommend any Total War game over this. Medieval two has comparable graphics and is way more intuitive and responsive. If you need a fantasy fix wait for Warhammer…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Total opposition to changing the contract without the players being able to refuse. I do not agree with your new conditions. I do not agree with the obligation to constantly check what you have changed in the contract. and it's completely crazy that I have to keep checking, and it's my duty to keep track of what you've changed in the contract, otherwise I automatically agree to it. Is gaming supposed to be my job? How dare you make such changes without any information about it. "13. Updates to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game looks like the Total War series however the battles are the weakest point. The game manages to remove all the need for tactics by having every battle turned into a race to capture the control points (which give spells). A race where units move like sleepy turtles and the camera might or might not show your units. The camera makes most battles almost unplayable and the units do not go where you would expect them. Some battles can be auto played but some are mandatory which makes it…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I... I don't why I let my self see this entire thing through. King Arthur II is a barely functioning Total War like RTS with a light sprinkling of RPG elements. The game runs horribly and physically hurts too play (if you can get that far), along with graphics looking like they were created on a fancy potato. But while I do wish to never play this play again, that is not to say that this game didn't have promise. The story isn't half bad and a lot mechanics could've been fun; I reckon if this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you played and liked the first one, don't get this one. It feels like an odd mix of a more polished, yet unfinished, simplified version. The battle interface feels better and the addition of flying units brings a lot more strategy options, but that's about it. The beast men are fairly available for recruitment along the progression of the game, but one side of morality/religion based units take forever to get. If you go Christian, great. You get tons of the required buildings through the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Underneath the admittedly terrible performance and numerous bugs lies the potential for a truly innovative and great game. If you succeed in getting this game to run, you will find yourself treated to a well-designed and original strategy RPG with breathtaking visuals, fun gameplay, and a beautifully presented branching narrative. It really feels tragic that this game's release was so clunky and left so few even able to properly experience it, because underneath it all lies a game that is truly…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Great lore too. Love the twist they put on the traditional Arthur tales. Plus it adds an RPG element to the traditional Total War series. Ignore the Mixed review status. Bunch of people refuse to upgrade their potato machines, so this game crashes on them. So far I havent experienced any crashes or bugs. All these bad reviews never mention how they feel about the gameplay. If it doesnt run on your old computer just return it, dont spam negative reviews.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mixed feelings about this game. I love the King Arthur with the high fantasy setting and the whole story rpg system which is really good, kinda reminding me of the old Warhammer Battlemarch game. On the other hand the controls including the camera and game stability is not great. The controls are cluncky as, you will get use to them but it is a bit off putting at first. The game itself is quite old and wasn't built or later systems which is why i suspect it crashes quite often. There are also…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The loading times of this games are bonkers. They alone make the game unplayable. Wait 3 minutes to load the game, wait 2 minutes to start a battle, wait another 3 minutes to end the battle. The technical side of this game is an atrocious mess. My rating 0/10, unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game play is alright but there is zero optimization. This game is nearly a decade old and even today's PCs struggle to run it at what might be considered an acceptable speed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game ran poorly on release when I bought it so I decided to try it years later with a newer rig (core i5 3570k @4GHz and GTX1080) and it still ran poorly. The campaign isn't even as good as the original King Arthur RPW. There is no multiplayer support. This game was underwhelming at release and there is even less reason to consider now when there are options like Total War Warhammer available.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had no problems with this game and just loved it! Its a must (in my opinion) that you are a big fan of storrytelling considering that you do a lot of reading during the quests. If so, this is for you.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you really want to experience a fantasy version of the tale of King Arthur, this game is a solid take on the classic story. The scenery and animations are gorgeous and hyper-stylized, the story is in depth, and your choices feel like they have actual consequences. That said, the gameplay leaves quite a bit to be desired. The camera will fight you at every opportunity and in many battles is more of a nuissance than the enemies themselves. By about the 1/3 way mark, I ended up fighting every…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not sure what people are talking about with the poor performane issues. I have not had any problems, but i am playing on a pretty suped up PC. All in all, I love the game, good story beutiful art and graphics. battles are a little hard to manage at times and archers are WAY to OP, all in all a good expiriance for 10 bucks
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So many years later, but still no german patch. Rip KA-RTS.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't believe this game has 50%!!! It really is a great game. I only encountered 1 bug...which is of course the one right before the second to last battle of the entire game. Which did suck. But as you can see, I got 102 hours out of one play through. Yeah, it sucks I couldn't finish it, but I still recommend the hell out of this game. 8/10 Would c2d again
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →friend got me this awhile ago. it was kinda cool but had a lot of issues so beware
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tricky game. Has two campaigns. One deals with the remnants of the Romans in the North, the other during a calamity in the South. The Southern campaign starts with Arthur suffering a great wound. You play as his son, questing to find a cure in a darkened Britannia. Decent enough. Suggest waiting for a discount, though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game used to run like trash, but it runs great now. I don't know when they fixed it, but it runs good now. (November 2020) Anyways, I love the narration and story telling in this game. Truly unique, and I'd happily pay top dollar for another sequel, as long as the bring back the same narrator and story-writers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wonder who had the machine in 2012 to run this even on medium settings... NASA maybe? It's one of the worst games I ever tried performance wise. There might be a good game deep beneath the technical disaster, don't pay a single cent for this garbage. Look at this pathetic response from one of the Neocore devs in 2012: "About the "24+ FPS is too low" and it is "bad performance" issue: It is not bad performance and not too low. If it gets below 20 FPS than it is bad performance. 24 FPS is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game gets stuck at 100% after initially loading a new campaign, does not load in, just stays at the screen. Don't buy, game is a broken mess that had tons of bugs at launch, and has never been fixed. If you google this issue you'll see forum posts dating back to 2012.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Does not work dont buy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: -Good storytelling of the King Arthur saga with a "Choose your own adventure" book style that is the best part of the game Cons: -Everything else This game is has HORRIBLY BAD OPTIMATION. It hardly runs well on a machine built years later after release. There are glitches and bugs still present and the game feels sluggish all the time. Avoid.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a poorly built Arthurian themed ripoff of Medieval: Total War with RPG elements tacked on. Don't buy this - it doesn't work if you have a 4K monitor, it just crashes on launch. No developer support.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, I haven't had any issues with the game crashing, not loading, etc. From what I can tell from other reviews, this game plays similar to the Total Wars series. I can't say since I haven't played them before, but I have played the first King Arthur. This game plays similarly to the first game with a few exceptions. The developpers have tried to make a few balance changes from things that generally seem overpowered in the first game; namely magic, cavalry, and archers. There's now a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't understand all the bad reviews. This game is pretty solid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →worst game in history
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the art. Worth my 54.75 baht.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Tried to get into this game because it seemed so promising but somehow was left un-interested. Miles off the Medieval 2 Total War which came out 5 years earlier. Seemed unrefined and clunky in comparison.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →6/10 Game plays like a simplified Total War that is less polished. There are a lot of small bugs that just screams rushed. Units named "Archer.Angle.001", Icons flip flopped on the build menu, towns spelled "tOwn", Item sets that are not fully in the game making it impossible to complete the set, Storyline cuts that don't make sense, options in quests that just repeat the same thing over and over in a loop. The game's story is very engaging during the main campaign and the power creep feels…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well, I can't say I was entirely enjoying the game for 2 hours before it crashed on me. While I do enjoy the RPG choice making type concept, the battles themselves feel like I am wanting for more. It also seems like there's a finite amount of ... well ... everything. You cont collect tax income from your land, you only get gold via quests, which gold is sued for virtually everything, being diplomacy, retraining, training, trade etc etc. The soldiers in the battles themselves all feel as though…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →King Arthur 1 was a gem, yet this one's hot garbage Combat UI is awful, it's hard to tell which units are selected (dark red highlight on dark gray and brown backdrop) You can't tell which units are yours in a battle Victory Points are laid out in the same manner as the first, but strategic victories have been removed from the game and their abilities are now global Campaign map is ugly, Hero customisation is stripped down games just not fun
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this because I really enjoyed the first game. This one is better and it is great. If you buy the Dead Legions expansion as well then you are pretty much getting 2 games rather than one. It's very much like a Total War game but set in Arthurian/Roman era full of magic and superstition. The difference between this and Total War, aside from the lore and setting, is that you have choose your path adventures and diplomatic quests weaved in. For me this makes both the King Arthur games more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is totally unfinished. Missing sets and doesn't have complete auto battle. Its not but to move things around the army in the battlefield is so frustating that it might as well just go auto battle all the way through. For me this is 3 stars
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Poor performance and main campain doesn't even start
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is broken, When you try to start a campaign via new capmaign there is literally no options, many others have had this problem, the problem was unresolved, initially posted in March 2012 I don't think 4 years on its gonna get fixed. https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/king-authur-ii-starts-but-no-campaigns-are-available.597744/ DO NOT BUY. 0/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, "If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.". Tears appeared in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family throught what yuor grandfather put us through." I agreed. Until this very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Couldn't finish the game because of constant crashes during one particular battle.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i like the game. needs bigger map, more things to do.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sure, some of the formatting can be clumsy, some of the gameplay can get a little frustrating, and there are some grammatical errors in the text...BUT, this has an interesting story, a great amount of different units to use and play with, and an enemy AI system that funnily enough actually makes sense to me. There's upgrades for absolutely every unit in your army, and I couldn't help but become obsessed with trying to find and win enough battles to upgrade my troops to unstoppable killing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this was a weird one. Imagine total war but clunkier and with the occasional text adventure. its the best game in the series but that's not saying much. you can feel the missed potential in this game as soon as you play it but now its just another forgotten game in the pile of history. but for 10 dollars you could do worse.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent turn based Text Adventure Game with RTS Total War Battle Elements, King Arthur 2 delivers hours of entertainment for fans and new players. I did enjoy the game even though it has annoying flaws, like enemy unit retreating to an unreachable area of the battle map, battles quickly become a huge brawl impossible to garrison my castles and other places therefore you will quest and leave your places undefended, maximum of 3 armies allowed later in the quest, simple castles management, no…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had unresolvable issues with too-big text. Also 2160p resolution is not available. Sadly had to refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is not perfect, but I still had alot of fun playing it. I think the main draw, for me, is the setting; there is just something to the idea of a kingdom in ruin, threatened by an external, eldritch threat and having to both prepare to fight it and unite everyone through word or sword. The game does a great job with that atmosphere and giving you hard choices. The gameplay shows its years, but it's still fun; crafting artefacts is really enjoyable. Though you should really figure out…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like with its predecessor, the devs didn't manage to fix the various crashes that ruin your game experience and WILL destroy your progress (crashes happen right after a battle has been finished while autosaves are made before the battle starts).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cheap and trashy Total War clone. Battles are terrible and look silly. Very linear game too, you don't get freedom like in TW - here campaign is basically just a series of linear battles.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Strategy game with Text-based adventure The strategy gameplay is bad....... its really bad better of with playing total war games. I did like the Text-based adventure format. Very interesting! Especially in a strategy game. The strategy part of the game is just to bad and i dropped the game after 2 hours. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i really wanted to get into this one but game breaking bugs prevented that
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Broken garbage.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I Enjoyed this, lasted for quite some time (50+ hours). I played in 4k on Win10 and initially it had weird scaling issues on the text; the text was far bigger than the boxes and couldn't be read, went over other text etc. A long time into the game I tried a second time to fix it and finally found a working solution. It's caused Window's ui/text scaling (which I have at 175%). If you go to the *.exes in the game folder (there are several builds there) properties->compatibility and select…
