unlabelledView post →When talking about the making of _Jojo Rabbit_ (a must see movie, in my opinion), I remember Taika Waititi making a point out wanting to represent the colourful fashion and more lively sides of Germany under the Third Reich. War movies tend to portray Nazis as dark and dull figures with no inner life other than murdering Jews and plotting for world domination. This is probably dangerous, as we won't recognize the fascists when they're in front of us. They'll be laughing and dancing as they…

When I was in college, my then girlfriend texted me that she was watching Jojo Rabbit. She knew it was one of my favorite movies, and said that she loved it too. She was talking about how Scarlett Johannson's shoes almost have their own personality. So I said, ::: spoiler spoiler ___ yeah, it's devastating when you notice her shoes on the hanging body. ::: Turns out she had paused the movie to make…

How many audience members dreamed of doing just this? #TheNoirCollective #TCMParty #ManHunt
unlabelledView post →One movie pitch I wish I could have seen was the one Taika Waititi did for Jojo Rabbit. Studio Executive “What’s it about?” “It’s about a little boy who dreams of being a good Nazi and whose imaginary friend is Hitler.
unlabelledView post →It doesn’t really count and nobody liked the movie but it’s underrated how funny Sam Rockwell was in Jojo Rabbit
unlabelledView post →Jojo Rabbit. Telling a story from the perspective of a child who has only known propaganda for his whole life makes the film an important reminder of how this all happened, how real human beings can end up going along with horrible things.
unlabelledView post →Jojo Rabbit is one of those movies in the comfortable basket where the film industry finds it safe to fund, narrate, and reward. It is technically well-crafted, balancing humor and tragedy good. But...!
unlabelledView post →I saw JoJo Rabbit in theaters with my boyfriend and I remember the moment Hitler is shown on the screen the person Infront of us audibly sighed and stormed out mumbling under her breath "I didnt know this was a fucking Nazi movie what the fuck!"

unlabelledView post →There is a tradition of having Jewish actors play Nazis in film and television to ruin the enjoyment of those who support Nazism. Taika Waititi revived that tradition recently in his Jojo Rabbit film.

unlabelledView post →A bunch of my follows are posting about Taika Watiti doing a Judge Dredd movie, pointing at Thor: Love & Thunder, and cringing. And that's fair. T:L&T was not a great film. But have they watched JoJo Rabbit? On point satire and some punches to the feels.
unlabelledView post →I'm not the biggest fan of Taika Waititi's style in general, but I'm glad he was able to make Jojo Rabbit which has all of his strengths and none of his weaknesses. Even if he never makes another great film, it's good that he was able to make that one
unlabelledView post →Mel Brooks earned my eternal respect with his defense of Taika Waititi's film "JoJo Rabbit" about a young boy with his imaginary friend - Adolf Hitler. www.usatoday.com/story/entert...
unlabelledView post →Something to keep in mind: The movie Jojo Rabbit isn't about how some Nazis were good, actually. It's about how people who'd normally be good become monsters in a society like Nazi Germany, if only for basic survival. Don't become a monster. Don't let others become monsters.

unlabelledView post →As someone who is a HUGE fan of both Producers movies (admittedly the ‘05 is my favorite and I will argue til my dying day it is THE most perfect film) and Jojo Rabbit, this made my day, my life. Satire is an incredibly important weapon against tyranny.

unlabelledView post →JOJO RABBIT (2019) For over half a century now Jerry Lewis's never-released Holocaust movie THE DAY THE CLOWN has been relentlessly and ruthlessly mocked. How Taika Waititi's jaw-droppingly ill-conceived attempt to Wes Anderson-ify Nazi Germany has escaped the same fate eludes me.
unlabelledView post →Ppl may remember this scene in JoJo Rabbit. Probably the saddest scene in the movie. The reality is, when you went against the Nazis, or any fascist regime, this was your fate youtu.be/G4JUl_c0M3U?...

unlabelledView post →Caught a bit of Jojo Rabbit on telly last night. Think it got an unfair kicking by some critics who wanted it to be a whole other film. It’s about a young boy being taught to hate people he’s never met by an ideology that promises him everything. Works even harder in 2025.
unlabelledView post →I remember at the other message scrolling place, a post went viral asking people to name the most evil movie and people kept naming movies like Jurassic World and Iron Man and Jojo Rabbit (way to miss the point of that film). unlabelledView post →Watched Jojo Rabbit for the first time. Not a bad movie! I liked the growth Jojo went through. I may catch hate for this, but Nazis being portrayed as idiots is alright. There're still scenes that show how dangerous they were (spoilers). This movie's theme is about defanging learned bigotry.
unlabelledView post →Just because Taika Waititi made only one bad movie that you personally didn't like doesn't mean that he's somehow this talentless hack, when he's actually quite a talented filmmaker. I absolutely loved what he cooked with Jojo Rabbit, as he was able to do a meaningful commentary on radicalization
unlabelledView post →Nah, the movie really just wasn't good and then he followed it up with another dud. It was the opposite of the Ragnarok/Jojo Rabbit one-two punch that first got him mainstream praise.
unlabelledView post →Film nr.1 i #PuttesFilmBingo JoJo Rabbit. Krav: Favorite director: Taika Waititi. Et mesterværk af en satire fra 2019, som han bl.a. vandt Best Adapted Screenplay for. Med bl.a. Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell og Rebel Wilson. Den er sjov, men naturligvis med alvorlige og tankevækkende elementer.

unlabelledView post →I keep thinking about Jojo Rabbit today (a film which, if you haven’t seen it, is not what you think it is and has a lot to say about the current garbage fire in which we find ourselves)
unlabelledView post →I love it when people try and defend Jojo Rabbit. They get so mad when you point out obvious shit like “the movie schmaltzes all over Klezendorf while portraying the men he’s fighting - ie the Allies - as ruthless murderers”. Dogshit movie for some of the biggest babies online

Film's producer is currently "not too involved". > For nearly the entire time that Collider has been around, we’ve been reporting on the Flash Gordon remake.
