Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 64 out of 100, based on four critics, indicating "generally favorable" reviews. Peter Bradshaw, writing for The Guardian, described the movie as an uncritical look at the band's massive rise. He wrote that it is "cheerful and watchable, if a relentlessly on-brand fan promo, corporately policed and controlled", giving it three out of five stars.
