unlabelledView post →#NowWatching THE DEPARTED (2006). Director: Martin Scorsese. Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon. Unpopular opinion: Serviceable, if hyperactive, take on Hong Kong classic INFERNAL AFFAIRS never moved me as top-tier Scorcese. Rewatching, 1st time since release. Maybe I'll change my mind. #filmsky 📽
unlabelledView post →when i glance over at my movie shelf the first thing i see is INFERNAL AFFAIRS, so you should watch INFERNAL AFFAIRS
unlabelledView post →Wow! Shout! Studios has put the Infernal Affairs trilogy — what got remade into The Departed by Martin Scorsese — on YouTube. And I can tell you the first movie is tons better than The Departed. Original Cantonese audio with English subtitles. Watch it tonight! youtu.be/_8M1-1wLpKU?...
unlabelledView post →Picking a random film from my collection to show off for no real reason! Day #302 "Infernal Affairs" (Andrew Lau and Alan Mak/2002) Probably the best police thriller I've ever seen. Remade as The Departed but in my opinion, this is the best version of it. Check it out!
unlabelledView post →We learned from Tony Leung Chiu-wai that he completely changed the ending to INFERNAL AFFAIRS, refusing to do the proposed action sequence since “this was a drama film, it should end with drama”. Purportedly the only time he has ever done that
unlabelledView post →First watch of the original film for the first time since release. ‘Infernal Affairs’ (2002, Blu Ray). Looking forward to watching the other films, prequel and sequel in the box.
unlabelledView post →DIY labels should send artists undercover as managers into global music conglomerates to spy on their industry plants and it’ll be just like that movie Infernal Affairs.
unlabelledView post →The original movie (Infernal Affairs) is much better
unlabelledView post →If you only watch movies in English youre only getting the English ripoffs of real cinema. Martin Scorsese is literally just ripping off HK Directors. The Departed is literally an English remake of Infernal Affairs which is still the superior film. Anyways book me.
unlabelledView post →A remake of Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs.
unlabelledView post →I’m starting to feel like a broken record here, but Infernal Affairs (directed by Wai Keung Lau) is an almost perfect movie, and “inspired” Scorsese to make The Departed. #filmsky

A great opportunity to see films like INFERNAL AFFAIRS and SHAOLIN SOCCER in 35mm or A HERO NEVER DIES and more on the big screen. Trailer:

unlabelledView post →INFERNAL AFFAIRS ist nicht nur die Vorlage für THE DEPARTED, er wischt mit Scorcesses Film den Boden auf. Strengster #sehbefehl für heute Abend! Das ist Prüfungsrelevant!
unlabelledView post →Well I searched and we now have French dubs of — Chungking Express —- A Better Tomorrow —- Infernal Affairs So movie nights are sorted for the next few weeks.
unlabelledView post →"The Departed" - a remake of "Infernal Affairs" (Hong Kong film)
unlabelledView post →I really love this movie but it actually makes nobfucking sense compared to the original. Dicaprio is so blatantly the rat. In Infernal Affairs, Tony Leung is undercover for years and relatively low level in a pretty big gang. Jack Nicholson has like three guys working for him
unlabelledView post →Also this is a stretch but…it’s a movie about performing and deceit using the medium of film to get into the audience’s subconscious, that ends in a bloodbath. I know it’s a remake of Infernal Affairs but also…that’s Hamlet. Right? It’s a bloodbath based around identity.

unlabelledView post →New in @cambridgeday.com! This week, celebrate Art House Theater Day at @brattletheatre.bsky.social and catch THE DEPARTED vs. INFERNAL AFFAIRS at the Somerville, plus Monty Python, more Altman, and the best movie ever made: FASTER, PUSSYCAT! KILL! KILL!
unlabelledView post →Absolutely nothing of intelligence or nuance to say about Andrew Lau and Alan Mak’s Infernal Affairs (2002). I was turned on the entire runtime. What a sexy goddamn movie.
unlabelledView post →119.) The Departed (2006) What a great St. Patrick's Day first-time watch. An excellently entertaining movie about the symbiotic relationship between cops and crooks. Plus, Jack is a delight in this picture. Do need to get around to watching Infernal Affairs to really complete this film.
unlabelledView post →Something else to look forward to. ’Infernal Affairs’ (2002) is a quite superb film. ’The Departed’ remake was very disappointing for me. I haven’t seen these sequels which followed up a year or so later (one being a prequel), but if they are anywhere near as good, will be well satisfied ✅
unlabelledView post →We are two movies in on today’s father and son movie marathon. My child informed me mid-week he wanted a double feature of INFERNAL AFFAIRS and THE DEPAHTED. This is his second Scorsese film. His first was Last Temptation, by his request.
unlabelledView post →"wow that's like Max Payne!" Max Payne is "what if HARD BOILED but game." "this reminds me of THE MATRIX!" the Wachowskis freely admit they lifted from HARD BOILED. "this is like the Scorcese movie with the corrupt cops?" THE DEPARTED, remaking INFERNAL AFFAIRS, which owes its existence to HARD BOIL
unlabelledView post →Apropos of nothing, you know what movie really cooks? INFERNAL AFFAIRS. The fate of Superintendant Wong never fails to fuck me up. An hour of slick, queasy suspense and then bam they hit you with the music and Tony Leung’s devastated, disbelieving face. Just awesome.
unlabelledView post →“Infernal Affairs”, which is what “The Departed” is based on is like million times a better movie.

unlabelledView post →The original film it’s a remake of… should have left it alone. Infernal Affairs. Also, lead Tony Leung
unlabelledView post →Now watching Infernal Affairs II. This is also a prequel to the first move, and since both films inspired The Departed maybe they'll explain why nobody in either movie speaks with a Boston accent (because they're in Hong Kong?)
unlabelledView post →No disrespect to Boston or the Dropkick Murphys, but that film was a knockout of Infernal Affairs without the subtlety.
unlabelledView post →Infernal Affairs 2 (2003) | It's honestly a bit baffling to imagine prequels or sequels to Infernal Affairs, and this is certainly an example where these definitely weren't the events that preceded the first film, but if you're going to make an unnecessary prequel, this is a damn good way to do it.
unlabelledView post →Infernal Affairs was a much better movie.
unlabelledView post →Came here to say this. I saw Infernal Affairs first because my cousin said it was a cool movie. And it was! Then I saw The Departed when it came out and kept saying “are you fucking kidding me?”
unlabelledView post →I haven't watched "Infernal Affairs" in a few years and I am watching it now and holy shit you guys, this is a really good movie and so much better than the remake.

unlabelledView post →Going through this tagset and seeing the Departed (and not seeing Infernal Affairs) is making me realize my simmering resentment of that movie has persisted for twenty years. Gonna take this film grudge to my grave.
unlabelledView post →Finally… not everyone was a fan. Infernal Affairs director Andrew Lau prefers his own film to Scorsese’s, and said: “I think the version I made is better, but the Hollywood version is pretty good too. Scorsese made a version more attuned to American culture. 35/35

unlabelledView post →The Departed is a remake of Infernal Affairs, a far superior movie-watch that!
unlabelledView post →Watching the 2016 film The Great Wall, which features Chinese actor Andy Lau from 2002’s Infernal Affairs, and American actor Matt Damon, who plays (essentially) the same character in 2006’s Hollywood adaptation of 2002’s Infernal Affairs, 2006’s The Departed (2006)

unlabelledView post →This random pause in the movie we were watching last night (Infernal Affairs 3) could actually be a new banner photo for me.
unlabelledView post →I'm reminded of a story a professor friend told me: that when he screened the original "Infernal Affairs" (the Hong Kong film that Scorsese adapted into "The Departed") in his class in the US, his students asked him which part of the country the film was set in... 😏

unlabelledView post →Also, The Departed. Just watch Infernal Affairs, the much better, MUCH SHORTER movie that it’s based on. I swear you could cut an hour out of The Departed.
unlabelledView post →Next up in our Matt Damon Odyssey was The Departed. Fantastic movie, but if you can believe it, the movie it was based on (Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs) is even better #filmsky

unlabelledView post →Infernal Affairs. Pan's Labyrinth. RRR. Downfall. The Lives of Others. Godzilla Minus One. I'm not a cutting edge film aficionado, just a middle aged dad with an internet connection, but I've got more 21st century foreign film recommendations than Tarantino does.
unlabelledView post →BTW, look at the list and realise in retrospect that the likes of "In the Mood for Love"(2000) and "Infernal Affairs" (2003) didn't make the (then) Best Foreign Language Film Oscar SHORT LIST in the years that they were nominated.
unlabelledView post →Interesting that the first Infernal Affairs movie also involves Tony Leung as an undercover cop getting a gift from his boss. #CultShelf
unlabelledView post →Her next project was the film Daisy, by Hong Kong director Andrew Lau (Infernal Affairs) and co-starring #JungWooSung. The film drew attention for its 100% location shooting in the Netherlands.

unlabelledView post →I wish every movie could be as good as the 2002 Hong Kong crime action thriller Infernal Affairs.
unlabelledView post →Yes and I highly recommend the HK film it was based upon: Infernal Affairs
unlabelledView post →Ok! This is such a well made, clever and cute film! I only came across it because I've been bingeing HK stuff and I always loved Kelly Chen in Infernal Affairs so went looking for other movies of hers on YouTube. I really recommend the film!
