21 of 21 · most liked firstMixed feelings. This is a classic of the genre, of course, and I picked it up on Steam in order to finally beat a game that I'd eventually stalled out on in my childhood. [Mission accomplished, by the way]. ;-) It's still really fun to make Indy run around doing stuff. And the game roughly follows the plot of the Last Crusade movie, so you're in for a good time. Plus, you've got all the usual LucasArts in-jokes and whimsy. On the downside, this is clearly a game that people would have no…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was fun and challenging. If you liked the movie, you should play this, since it follows the movie very very closely. The game is a challenging point&click, but it feels rewarding when finished. The fighting system feels very clunky, so be sure to practice a lot in the early game. The Steam display and music isn't the greatest, so I downloaded the SCUMM engine for free and played it off of that. It looks and sounds much better than the Steam transfer. I got this game in the LucasArts…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this for the nostalgia and played through it, but I don't feel it aged quite as well as the other Lucasarts point and click adventure games. As a classic Lucasarts game from my childhood, it saddens me to give it a thumbs down, but I have to be honest here. I will tell why I didn't enjoy this game, and please keep in mind this is only my opinion. There are others who do enjoy the game. The game starts off great, all the way through the catacombs. The puzzles are clever and well…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You should get this in the LucasArt pack together with "The Dig" and "Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis". Its still a good game but Fate of Atlantis is better and The Dig is a wonderful game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In a lot of ways, 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade' has all the makings of a classic game, but in light of difficulties with playing this game in the modern age and the advances that would be made just a couple years later on 'Fate of Atlantis,' this is a game for die-hard Indy and LucasArts fans only. The gameplay itself is what you would expect if you've played 'The Secret of Monkey Island,' 'Maniac Mansion,' 'Sam and Max Hit the Road,' and so on, with all the good and bad baggage that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game hasn't aged well. For example, the original game came with a manual that you actually used to solve at least one puzzle. This feature hasn't been updated, so you have to just randomly guess in those cases until you get it right. It's really frustrating. There are tons of other adventure games from this era on Steam that you should play instead, like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, The Dig, or Full Throttle.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A great game, can be difficult at times and the graphics can be confusing at times, but if you really like Indiana Jones i suggest that you get this game. It really puts you in the retro perspective aswell if you like the retro games, it looks like it's from an Arcade machine.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember this game was released just two months after the movie. Even back then it was known that such rushed movie tie-in games are poor products. But the game was well-designed and I had a lot of fun with it. The unique aspect was that you could solve puzzles in multiple ways, which gave the game a nice replay value. Scoring high points made me want to play more often; hey, you could say it was our "achievement hunt" back then!…

Only in the footsteps of God will he proceed. Third, The Path of God. Only in the leap from the lions head will he prove his worth. https://youtu.be/e1KKVy-nki8?t=338
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It really saddens me to have to leave a negative review for this game - but it really does merit it. And I'm not leaving this because of the very old graphics and sound. That's fine. And the game does begin pretty well, with some reasonable if not great puzzles and a great dose of humor thrown in. The endgame (Grail Temple) is alright too. But in between... probably around half the game consists of having to avoid or (more often) get past Nazi guards. This consists of either winning a fight…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you need to feel joy and nostalgia in your life, you should play this and its sequel. Two great LucasArts games from a better time in our lives. Better than the movie.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Better than the action game alternative, yet at times creaking with its age, The Last Crusade feels dated because it lacks some of the essentials that we take for granted in point and click games these days. The puzzles are generally logical, but when combined with the lack of verb auto-selection, seemingly random dialogue trees and incongruous gameplay sections, coupled with a story that most will be familiar with, it’s difficult to recommend. A game being old doesn’t automatically mean that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indiana Jones and the last crusade movie is the best one of the franchise, so when I saw they have made an adventure game of it I got excited to play it. What I got was a disappointment. I love how the game looks and how you can play through the plot points from the movie. There is a reason why I can't recommend this game to anyone who hasn't played this game when it came out. The game is really punishing, if you don't use a walkthrough. Like you can make the game hard for yourself if you miss…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Intro: I did not have the opportunity to play many LucasFilm/Arts games in my youth, so I am atoning for my adventure gaming negligence by finally getting around to the Indiana Jones adventure games. I’ve read a lot of good things about Last Crusade and Fate of Atlantis, so I was excited to delve into these games. Since Last Crusade was the first one, that is where I started. The Good: - Good tie in with the movie. Most games which tie in to TV and movies tend to be very generic and bland.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you ever think that you live in dark and confusing times, consider 1989. A cold, bitter age for people who enjoyed playing video games. A time when people had home consoles, but very few, if any, games worth playing. In a time when simply not having to be near gamers was reason enough to play games on your family’s super-expensive MS-DOS machine, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure must have seemed like an excellent choice for a few key reasons. The main reason is…

I'm kind of suspicious... +++Pros+++ - This is One of My favorite Movies in a game! - Some Interesting puzzles - You can actually choose to punch hitler (with consequent Game Over, of course XD) ---Cons--- - 2 pixels are supposed to be an item to pick up? Really? How am I supposed to even SUSPECT that??? - Labirynths... I hate them, so I really hated the catacomb and the Brunwald sections - Fistfights...…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic adventure game with all the frustrating puzzles, minigames, and pixel-hunting. Honestly, Fate of Atlantis is MILES better than this one.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I give up. I can't get past the guards in the castle. I read I have to give my painting to a guard while wearing the servant outfit but they just start beating me up immediately, I can't say or do anything. Also the fights suddenly got impossible and it's like they started chasing me down and standing right outside every door. Super frustrating, I really wanted to finish this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recommend this game only with a good walkthrough. It's very hard without one even if you've seen the movie 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite and most memorable games from my childhood. If you love the film and classic adventure games, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a game for you. Don't forget Fate of Atlantis as well.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s alright, definitely more of a curiosity for completionists than a must play of the genre, especially due to the outdated UI and the ever fatal missable items that plagued earlier adventure games. And of course it’s Indiana Jones. However while I think the good parts outweights the bad (mostly the action sequences and frustrating puzzles) dont play the version you get out of the bat. Download ScummVM and save yourself from the awfully limited executable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is this the worst game of all time? No, but it certainly tries. About the only circumstance in which I can recommend spending any money on this game is for the sake of nostalgia. I purchased it to tick one off the list of childhood games I hadn’t beaten (I got stuck in the castle section as a kid). As an adult, I can see why I never beat it, from a design perspective its horrendous. Most of the story progression is punitive and arbitrary. It seems like the entire project was one big cash grab,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An unforgettable classic. Graphics and sounds may be outdated, and god it is hard (and even unfair in many opportunities), but it is a jewel from another time when games where brutally tough on the player but enormously rewarding. Despite its flaws, Indy3 paved the road for the golden era of adventure games (including Monkey Island) introducing several revolutionary ideas. It belongs in a museum! The plain steam version experience is horrible. Use ScummVM to play this, and use a Roland…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Although it's got a promising start, things quickly turn frustrating a couple of hours in and only get worse as you battle some truly ridiculous controls to progress, only to come up against the same issues in more difficult situations the further in you get. I really, really wanted to enjoy this but I fear it has aged too much for me to recommend it to anyone but the truly hardcore adventure nostalgics out there.

Many puzzle have obscure solutions, and you are required to note information down to solve the final puzzle, I did do this but when I got the final room, I got it wrong. When I reloaded the game again, the hint from the very beginning of the game had changed. It was no longer Welsh, it was Olde English. I gave up there, and restarted. The game actually isn't very long if you know what you are doing. I played through it again…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Developed and published by LucasArts in 1989, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a traditional point and click adventure game, with inventory-based puzzles, developed using the SCUMM engine. The game comes with a digital manual that serves as a background material to set the player in the universe of the game. Following similar story beats as the movie with the same name, your main objective is to guide Indy in his quest to find the holy grail. Different from more traditional point and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finished #IndianaJonesAndTheLastCrusade, which was quite an experience. There’s something cozy and endearing about the sound and visuals, and I really like the not-so-serious tone of the game. The Castle Brunwald section was very tough and cumbersome though, a mixture of trial and error, timing and lots of deaths. I‘m really looking forward to #TheFateOfAtlantis. — #Gaming #RetroGaming #ShareYourGames
unlabelledView post →I’m having a good time with #IndianaJonesAndTheLastCrusade overall, there’s a lot of charm. But I wouldn’t let a modern game get away with the click-everything-try-everything mechanics. I’ve made it through the catacombs of Venice and am now in Castle Brunwald, frustration rising. I’m constantly being intercepted by guards who send me to game over. — #PointNClick #Gaming #RetroGaming #Videogames #ShareYourGames

unlabelledView post →I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. It's a classic point-and-click game - punishing, unclear, annoying to control. If you don't want to follow a guide then be prepared for hours of running around being lost. Better click on everything you see.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is good. However, the quality of this port is questionable. Seeing as the original DOS files are included, you may have a better experience using those with ScummVM, as I have. Also, I really do not recommend getting this here. Disney's newest ToS is required, and apparently signing those gives Disney a license to get away with whatever they want, including wrongful death.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a classic point'n'click adventure game released in the same year of the film with the same name. This is the 1990 VGA version, updated from the 1989 original (without the enhanced soundtrack). Unfortunately, the steam version don't include the enhanced FM Towns soundtrack. Like all games of the genre at the time, there is no voice acting. The graphics are very decent for the time, though, and the gameplay are very pleasent (you have to use the Grail Dairy…

That dream gave me so much of a moral boost I was able to help influence the crew's moral. Aside from personal memories, If you enjoy Indiana Jones series or most of them... plus a click & point interface game which is uncommon these day's. You may enjoy the action packed diverse paths you can take. This one did it for me as well as Fate of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Highly frustrating game as there is so many ways to die and the boxing/combat mechanic is almost impossible to figure out. Even using a guide I died so many times and it was only my determination to finish that stopped me from switching off. However I like the random nature of some of the puzzle solutions, gives the game some replay value... but not enough for me to ever do this again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a really convoluted version of the classic film. I lost it about the time that Indy, whilst trying to escape from the catacombs, had to fashion a xylophone out of a man's ribcage to entertain a mouse.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It works fine on the Steam Deck. I played it for a while, mostly due to nostalgia and the fact that I like Indiana Jones games more than the movies. While I don't intend to finish it, as I don't think I remember the solutions to most of the puzzles, it was fun to replay it for a short time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate mazes, I hate Sierra-style scoring systems, and most of all I hate Sierra-style dying. I know you can get through this without a single fight (and I in fact just did) but not without a walkthrough or tiresome save/load trial-and-error; as a game mechanic the fighting with non-replenishing health is infuriating. Save early, save often, save your gaming peripherals from untimely rage death. Surprised this game is inside of the LucasArts adventure game series still well regarded.

I liked going back in time and being able to solve on my own most of it - but I realized at one point I had to essentially redo chunks of the game because I missed something or I fought too much so I didn't have energy anymore. If you have played it before you know what you are getting - if you have never... well its really frustrating. The problem to me is that its not like Monkey Island where you have to solve something…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beatiful game, the fights are hard, but you can talk out of them (maybe need a walkthrough guide) The REAL PROBLEM, is that the Grial Diary (needed for finishing the game) included in the original box it's not included in the game files. I made a guide with it. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1564257851
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like these old games, but this one isn't great. You can see where the similar games got their sense of fun and gameplay from, and the puzzles are ok. However the mazes and fighting is very repetitive to the point of being boring. The fate of Atlantis is better for similar interaction. In the end, I didn't even try to complete this. There are better old games out there at a similar price.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is bugged. If you save it and exit some events will be saved for when you load game and other events won't be saved making it impossible to continue. I got it as part of a pack so not the end of the world but do not buy this 27 year old game and expect the devs to have time to finish it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure, developed and published by LucasArts, is one of the rare examples of a film-to-game adaptation that not only succeeds but also manages to establish itself as a classic of the adventure genre. Released in 1989, it was built on the SCUMM engine that had already powered hits like Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken, and it used that foundation to blend clever puzzle design, humor, and narrative freedom into a package that captured the spirit…

If you want, you can read the review in English in our group forum: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/catalantranslation/discussions/1/ No recomano el joc, per que el emulador es una vergonya. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A classic LucasArts adventure game, if not the most polished. For a movie-based game, there's a surprising variety of options in path forwards, and the puzzles are fun although as always a few rather obtuse ones. This game can be punishing, particularly if you end up fighting a lot of guards in the mid-game sequence. My favourite part (but it may be annoying for you) is that you need to use the provided "manual" , which the Steam install provides a PDF of, to figure out something important in…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't really recommend it. It's too outdated and unfair compare to Indiana Jones and The Fate Of Atlantis. Pros: -Some good puzzles. Some parts of the game can also be kinda non linear with different ways to solve the problem. -This game laid the foundations of the superior Indiana Jones game known as Fate of Atlantis. -It kinda follows the movie's story with more humor. Cons: -You can get stuck in the game and being forced to restart the game (your HP doesn't regenerate after each fight)…
