In the Tall Grass
After hearing a child screaming for help from the green depths of a vast field of tall grass, Becky, a pregnant woman, and Cal, her brother, park their car near a mysterious abandoned church and enter the field, discovering that they are not alone and, for some reason, they are unable to escape a completely inextricable vegetable labyrinth. My biggest gripe is how hard it was to see anything in the many, many, pitch black scenes so I probably docked half a star for forcing me to squint repeatedly

Even a not-perfect movie can be a very well done scary movie, and I found this movie about getting lost really creepy.

unlabelledView post →This boy goes into the corn. Cloris is awesome but the movie is kinda so so. I was thinking it was "In The Tall Grass" that was pretty creepy. Too much arguing in this one not really thrilling to me. You want a real great movie add "The Witch (2015)" it creeps me out like "Salem's Lot (1979)" 🧙♀️🧹🥶

unlabelledView post →I tried watching In The Tall Grass and oof! I could not with this movie lol I heard good things too But i struggled to keep going. The premise is cool but the script was cringy AF. the acting sucked too & the movie was so literally dark that i couldnt see any of the presumably cool horror shit.

unlabelledView post →In The Tall Grass, adapted from Stephen King and Joe Hill’s 2012 novel, delivers a tense and eerie experience with a simple yet complex plot set entirely within a mysterious grass field. While the film excels in atmosphere, acting, and cinematography, it struggles with logical consistency and leaves many questions unanswered about its characters and central mystery. Despite its narrative flaws, the film effectively explores themes of time loops and choices, maintaining suspense and…

unlabelledView post →1922, Nebraska is mentioned in In The Tall Grass, and Nebraska is a big part of The Stand too, but I guess that's not technically a movie.
unlabelledView post →Patrick Wilson is just all-out balls-to-the-wall hamming it crazy, and I am Here. For. That. I say that quite genuinely. But Stephen King adaptations have had quite the resurgence (in a good way) over the past couple of years, and In the Tall Grass just really doesn't hit that bar we've been getting recently. In terms of quality, I mean. Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole.

So much so, that his son is mimicking the footsteps of his father by also writing horror-related fiction. When the two generations joined together to write a novella on a mysterious field, it should’ve harked back to King’s legacy as the legendary writer he once was. Sadly though, despite the faithfulness to the source material, it’s yet…
negative · AI labelView post →“In the Tall Grass” is a Netflix film based on a short story/novella written by Stephen King and his son Joe Hill. A little disclosure that I have not read the original story, so I can’t attest as to how faithful this film is, so I’ll be looking at the movie on its own merits, as few as they may be. We start with two siblings, Cal and a pregnant Becky who are travelling through Kansas (a plus here is that we have a story from Stephen King that does not take place in Maine) when they pull over…
