House of David
Created by Jon Erwin
Tells the story of the ascent of the biblical figure, David, who becomes the most celebrated king of Israel. The series follows the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king. From TMDB

TV is weird and interesting. Islands of content that never meet.

neutral · AI labelView post →I watched the first episode of a series full of supernatural stuff, sorcery, prophecy, giants. Seems right up my alley but I know it's based on a genocide-promoting story in an extremely problematic book. The show is called "House of David."

neutral · AI labelView post →But in all seriousness, why even make this movie? The religious/christian/spiritual/etc crowd already has better options like The Chosen TV series and The House of David on Amazon Prime. But I guess those aren't mean spirited enough for Magat Christofascists or whatever.

neutral · AI labelView post →No, I won't be watching the House of David TV series when it hits Prime Video. This has nothing to do with the casting in as much as it has to with the production coming from a "faith-based" production company that means Christian more likely than not.

neutral · AI labelView post →Oh man ,there are two series on Prime that are amazing and relate to Pope's message. The Chosen and House of David. Trump reminds me of King Saul in the House of David. Saul is Powerful, delusional, and his stubbornness lead to foreseeable consequences of his actions. youtu.be/GrGfIHBIVL4?...
neutral · AI labelView post →I just finished the second season of House of David. There's a lot of interesting parallels to this "administration". Saul is a mentally unstable king who is losing control and makes a series of bad decisions in a failing attempt to maintain it.
neutral · AI labelView post →I'm rewatching season 2 of "House of David" on Amazon. This series is really good, the biblical story of Game of Thrones.
positive · AI labelView post →Found the show House of David. Was interested to write about it because, you know, adapted religious texts, cultural appropriation, political subtext, all that stuff. It's not good. But then I found the episode where the pre-credits scene was entirely done in AI slop. Nope. Nope. Nope.

neutral · AI labelView post →Another good series is House of David VERY well done ... my only critique is that it gives the Giants a rather farcical backstory that draws from a rather contentious theological debate (angels sexin' the human wimmen) but the story is well told and the characters well-acted.
