TL;DR: Unique experience with plenty of depth and replayability, but not necessarily what everyone is looking for. If you're not sure whether or not to buy it, do try the demo -- it's got plenty of playtime, and all of your progress will transfer over into the main game. PROS: + Procedural generation. (Much of the game is generated somewhat randomly, yet flows together.) + Moderately high replayability. It's not Factorio or Minecraft, but it can definitely draw you in. + Relaxed yet engaging…

This is a very distinct game. I played the original Himno and I was enjoying it a lot. When I heard about new game that takes place in this world I was very exited and started following the development. Gameplay This game plays like good old platformer games. The movement is smooth and very pleasant. You fight enemies and clear districts from corruption. After you cleared it, you can get your reward and go to the next district, but here is the twist, you can craft weapons and equipment along…

Abandonware. How unfortunate because the premise of this game is actually really fun but at the end of the day this is just an unfinished and abandoned game.

Decent game, a great game one might say. Well people who say that are wrong. This game is STUPIDLY DIFFICULT AND INCREDIBLY PUNISHING. I get that its a rogue-like and death should reset your progress or whatever but this isn't a normal rogue-like. Building up an arsenal of weapons is the reason I got this game, but whenever you lose all of your hard earned weapons just because you died to a boss that you specifically made those weapons for it really makes me not want to play. Now you might say,…

Sadly this game has been completely abandoned by its developer. You'll be happy to know that save editing can be done with a text editor if you happen to own this game and are tired of its BS. Other than that fun fact, it's a perpetually early access game that's never gonna release (believe me, I've talked to the dev personally and seen their announcements, they aren't coming back to this one). I love the idea, but it isn't finished, and it never will be. Don't buy it.

After having waiting for over a year, there has been no updates to bring local co-op in and it doesn't look like it'll come anytime soon. For that reason alone, I'm giving this a negative review. Don't advertise the game with local co-op if it won't have it.

The silent melody adds a lot of interesting mechanics to the core of the first game. You still go platforming through levels with great atmosphere but now there is a sense of progression outside of them, since you have a base which you can change however you want and a character that can also evolve through items and upgrades. There is also combat, looting and crafting added seamlessly to the levels so there are a bunch of different ways to enjoy the game.

This game has really good bones but it's simply unfinished. The Himno level progression and combat is a blast, and adding meta progression is such a great combo. I wish I could give it a thumbs up but I can't. It's a really punishing, unforgiving game. And it doesn't autosave at all. And it crashes and loses your stuff to bugs. Put it all together, you can be an hour into a run and something breaks, you lose everything. The base building is particularly buggy, stuff just randomly disappears.…

No updates since February of 2024. And no attempts to bring in cloud saves. Gameplay is fun however, its annoying to lose all your progress. This game is not recommended since the developer does not care about updating it.

It is sad to not be able to recommend this game. The game is very pleasing to the eyes and ears and has a lot of good mechanics when exploring and gathering materials. The combat leaves much to be desired as it becomes very repetitive and tedious to fight certain enemies, and once you get caught in the loop of pushing past boss encounters and gathering materials and having to reset your loop the game grinds to a halt and the joy of the game's tone vanishes while you stare at the "alpha" word…

Pretty sure the dev abandoned this game since the recent update was last year back in February. It's best to stick to the demo version since it's better in every way and it also has co-op. Playing on your demo save file after buying the game might ♥♥♥♥ up your items that are stored in chests.

I am... (I won't dare say it) a fan of this publisher. It all started with the fact that I just found a site where I could take part in the drawing of games and by the way a couple of them won ;) Then I found out that the studio puts out their own games and got interested in them... I can not in my opinion about Himno praise such games as: Fantasy Blacksmith or Garbage or Little Dungeon Stories. These are interesting games that amazed me (I bought them only at a huge discount of at least 50%)…

The Achievements are broken, and the game got abandoned. It could've been a great game with just a few more hours of content- as the core of the game feels great- but the asking price is a bit too much for how little content the game has.

The demo of this game is great and I finished the whole thing. Loved the mechanics and gameplay loop was entertaining most of the time. When I got the full game I was dissapointed however, many features got removed for some reason and replaced with more grindy progression. Cool concept though.

An extremely unusual game, at first glance it is clear that the developers were inspired by the game Terraria, from where they borrowed the style of the game. These graphics were complemented by the gloomy catacombs, and the stylish interface elegantly emphasized its uniqueness. The genre of this game combines the best of both: Rogue Legacy and Dead Cell. A huge variety of items, traps, monsters and artifacts. You can also choose a different type of weapon if you want to fight at close range…

I was in the process of writing a more comprehensive review of this game, but while in the midst of experimenting the game decided to vanish my +30 weapon. Buggy mess that needs a lot of work to be a good game. It has potential but the slog of being able to succeed isn't worth my time. Autolock is bad on a good day, only good use is detecting enemies hidden through the intense darkness. Quality of life really needs to be improved - pretty obvious with such as crafting recipes only being…

💻 Description: Himno is a relaxing 2D platformer where death only comes from falling or getting killed by creatures or turrents. The levels are dark and ruin-like, yet emit tranquility and beauty as well. It's best played in short bursts, but if you just want to turn off your brain and relax, here's your chance. with only one goal: explore the districts and find their exits 🕹️ Gameplay The game revolves around walking and jumping around the various districts. The controls are janky. UI is not intuitive. I got frustrated and quit. might try it again later. Wait for a better sale. EDIT: I was a bit grumpy when i wrote my initial review. I was in a bad mood and couldn't figure out what buttons were what right off and it put me in a worse mood. After realizing dash was shift and learning how to craft the key i feel better and needed to change my initial review. This is to increase awareness of the game: This game is worth purchasing and playing; the atmosphere is so chill and interesting and the mechanics are great. I love moving around, collecting resources, and figuring out how to defeat the enemies. It doesn't pull what I consider to be a cheap trick with some roguelites where everything seems or is unbeatable, instead the first few sections are to get you used to the mechanical flow and understand what is expected of you in each level. If…

An interesting premise, mixing roguelike, dungeon crawling, crafting, and extraction into a single package. Unfortunately, this is not for everyone. It doesn't do any of those genres well enough, leading to exhaustingly long runs with little to no progress to show for.

I really enjoyed this game. Generally, I'm not into roguelites because I hate losing my stuff when dying, but Himno TSM does a good job offering a relaxing yet challenging experience. The best part of this game is the visuals and the synthwave music, those aspects made me keep playing for many hours. The lighting and pixelart were mesmerizing to me. TL;DR: Very nice little hidden gem! NEEDS more attention. Absolutely worth the price, sunk 33 hours so far at time of review. Odd little mix of roguelike and persistent progression. Exploration focused, somewhat challenging platforming, very punishing bullet-spam combat. So far I've enjoyed it, though I wouldn't classify it as the pinnacle of gaming yet. Depends on what other content is added. It's odd because it has a persistent base world you can store equipment in and customize, but the…

But if you are willing to take the time to learn the mechanics and die over and over again, you should definitely at least check out HIMNO. Original review (90 minutes) below: After 10h, I have to say - I am super impressed with this roguelike. You basically visit procedurerally generated levels, in different biomes, where you fight -if you want to- and collect resources. You have a camp to which you can go back to -but not whenever you'd like- either by defeating a miniboss every 4 levels, or by finding a special object by chance. Alternatively - you can chug a potion, but you lose 45% of your inventory upon teleportation.…
