unlabelledView post →Watching Christine again made me realize something… What happened to the anthropomorphized car movie genre? Specifically ones featuring real cars, not 3D animated ones. The last one I can remember being made was Herbie: Fully Loaded in 2005. We need to bring it back!

unlabelledView post →omfg so I was fixated on Herbie the Love Bug for most of my childhood and had like 300 toy beetles, and when Herbie Fully Loaded came out I was so fucking jacked. My parents had a replica herbie come and drive me to the movie in it and it's probably the happiest I was as a kid lmao

unlabelledView post →hmm...do I do something very cursed and make my entire Letterboxd highlights segment for Herbie Fully Loaded an exposé of the innumerable people being weird about Lindsay Lohan in a Disney movie on that depraved website
unlabelledView post →Herbie Fully Loaded (2005), in which Michael Keaton totally forbids Lindsay Lohan to compete in the Not the Indy 500. A very ok movie.

unlabelledView post →Important news: I have now seen Herbie: Fully Loaded. Inoffensively bland, a solid meh out of 10, felt like the kind of movie I'd love if I had childhood nostalgia for it. The intro bait and switch of "Herbie is famous!" and then in the actual movie no one's heard of Herbie before was a choice.

Also that movie is now twenty-years old.

unlabelledView post →I think R-Truth might go see the movie that features his childhood hero. I might think My childhood hero Jeff Gordon did make a nice cameo in the 2000s 1. Looney tunes back in action, 2. Taxi (2003) and 3. Herbie Fully Loaded. Might be simular to all Stan Lee cameos in Movies and TV Shows.

unlabelledView post →I'm rewatching Herbie Fully Loaded (2005) and the most unbelievable thing in this movie is the not the self aware car, but the fact that she buys it for $75. SEVENTY FIVE dollars for a car? In 2005?
unlabelledView post →"Fully Loaded" with what though? "Herbie" must have had a tax bill to pay, else what is our mischievous little VW doing in this? He's now the property of "Maggie" (Lindsay Lohan) who has family pedigree in motor car racing. Her dad "Ray" (Michael Keaton) was hugely successful but he doesn't want his daughter to follow in his footsteps! Anyway, she takes "Herbie" to mechanic "Kevin" (Justin Long) and he agrees to fix her up and get her road ready. The idea - well they need to raise some cash so…

This is also basically the last movie where Lindsay Lohan is still looks good on screen, or at least cute. Lohan and Herbie pretty much carry the movie despite some good supporting parts by the rest of the cast. While I'm used to seeing Justin Long playing a support role, and Matt Dillon is the "villain", it is a bit odd to see Michael Keaton play such a…
