Critics, per Wikipedia
Digital Spy's Ali Griffiths described in his review of the series' premiere that the series makes up a group affectionately known as the "dark trio of shōnen" by anime fans along with Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man (coincidentally, all animated by MAPPA) due to their similar tone and themes, especially compared with their peppier peers. Ali praised the show's character-building, action, animation, visuals, humor, and the handling of Gabimaru's versions of his story which tells about "how he's feeling and what he wishes he'd done differently". He felt that some fans might found that the opening episode of the series was a little slow, but stating that "the way it centers the backstory of…

It's a more mature genre for 18-40 year old men instead of Shounen which is targeted at roughly 8-15 year old boys. Seinen shows include Berserk, Hell's Paradise, Hellsing (and Ultimate), Mushishi, Kaiji, Speed Grapher etc.

I wanna watch some more shows that don't, or barely use (looking at you Berserk with Puck), [super deformed](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SuperDeformed) art style. Most often I see it used in animes of heavier stories that want a way to break the tension. It works, but I hate it. Demon slayer is a great example. I love the story…

positive · AI labelView post →I'm watching Hell's Paradise right now. It's clearly done on a decent budget, but the animators are pretty good at knowing where they need to focus that cash. Meanwhile, the story is actually pretty good. For something like a Shonen-style power-system story, there's a lot more going on than just flashy martial arts. I'm enjoying this one, and am surprised I haven't heard of it before last month.

neutral · AI labelView post →Good season, with some bangers. I've watched: 1. Journal With Witch: what an incredible anime. It deals with the subject material of loss so delicately and beautifully, enhanced by the nuanced characters and incredible soundtrack. 2. You And I Are Polar Opposites: very fun romcom, with a delightful cast of characters. Reminds me a lot of Tsuredure Children, but more connected. If there's one criticism, it's that there's one particular piece of the soundtrack that's basically a corpo ad track.…

negative · AI labelView post →**Journal with Witch** - my AOTS and probably AOTY. I know it's very early to say that, but this was such an exceptional experience that I seriously doubt I'm gonna see anything better this year. A fantastic story with outstanding, realistic characters and great dialogues, that approaches you with a maturity you rarely see in anime. If you haven't seen this, do yourself a favor and try it. It's melancholic but heartwarming, can bring you to tears but also make you laugh. This show is like life…

neutral · AI labelView post →Finished the first season of Hell's Paradise awhile ago and it wasn't too bad. The start is pretty rough, giving some major edgelord vibes, and it's very much in the tradition of bloody splatfests with conflicted protagonists, but the later setting and creature designs kind of help compensate for that. If you're into the edgy vibe with bloody fights and some random nudity, it might click with you a lot. For me it had just enough weird/mystery to it to keep me watching.
neutral · AI labelView post →#OC #OCArt #Naruto Here's Kazuya Uchiha and Michiru Nishimura. They were both raised in the old Iwagakure. (Coincidentally, Gabimaru (Hell's Paradise) will later be raised there, too.) I chose to draw Kazuya with his special eyes to show that he has them rather than his normal blue ones.
