Writing in 1987, the year of its debut, Howard Rosenberg of Los Angeles Times mocked it as "not playing with a full deck. It oozes and blubbers for a half hour, yielding no laughs or life. You need a Geiger counter to detect its pulse." He added: "It strives to beat out CBS for second place in the ratings. But this contrived muck isn't one of them. In fact, its entire premise of shared witless fatherhood (a la My Two Dads on NBC) is a great argument for birth control." John J. O'Connor of The New York Times wrote: "And so it…

BLUEY does the same with basically adopting the tone and pacing of the core show, 25-year-old show from Millennial parents' youth, THE SIMPSONS

I can't remember watching a movie in theaters in the past 15 years that had the Paul Verhoeven levels of fucking these people think is going on.
neutral · AI labelView post →This week, @gayestepisode is talking My Two Dads, which debuted the same week as Full House but is a much better show. For one thing, unlike Full House, this one actually acknowledges the gayness of its premise and that gay people exist! Listen: www.gayestepisodeever.com/episodes/my-...

neutral · AI labelView post →He is so fucking white he eats unseasoned chicken breasts and plain nachos. It is unsurprising that he takes his moral cues from DJ Tanner on Full House.
neutral · AI labelView post →Its always fascinating how Saban tried to sell various Toku series to US audiences in the 90s MMPR: Lets make Zyuranger into Full House V.R. Troopers: 3 shows in one but its all VR! Masked Rider: A fun family sitcom with ALF Big Bad Beetleborgs: Metal Heroes meet the Groovie Goolies!
neutral · AI labelView post →It’s very funny to me that in every other promotion, JBL is destroying their top dudes with the Clothesline from Hell. But on #WWERAW, he’s treated like when DJ snuck that guy out of the seniors home to judge a dog show on Full House.
neutral · AI labelView post →“Full House” is crazy because what do you mean it took 2 tv show hosts, a musician, and a tv comedian to all afford a house in San Francisco…. in the early 90s?
neutral · AI labelView post →Holds up FAR better than the other hit sitcoms from the Eighties. The Cosby Show I always found lame, even before it became totally cringe. Designing Women, Facts of Life, Full House, Who's the Boss, all blech. Dang, what shitty tv. No wonder I didn't watch much tube in my 20s.

neutral · AI labelView post →Star is beaming (no pun intended) with personality and yet she is completely under-edited on the show to the point that I sometimes forget she’s on until she comes into a scene like Kimmy Gibbler on Full House. #Survivor

positive · AI labelView post →I never saw this show growing up, I was more in the Cheers/ALF/Full House generation, but my partner got me into them, and it's remarkably more subversive than I expected and it's made me laugh a lot.
neutral · AI labelView post →I think what's happening here is I go "who's that guy?" and the neuron for the word "Ted" lights up but also the neuron for the TV show "Full House"* lights up but this also causes the neuron for the TV show "Married with Children"* to light up which lights up "Bundy" * Which I never watched
neutral · AI labelView post →One of the downsides of streaming (as far as I can tell) is that there aren’t show crossovers; eg Urkel on Full House, Uncle Phil on Family Matters, Abed on Cougar Town, etc etc etc

neutral · AI labelView post →It's so odd. My upbringing turned me into a people pleaser for too long. I was 14 and giving my drunk step father life advice/therapy, of course to which idk. I was 14, and trying to help. He did make me hate myself, but, I knew women werent evil, and it was a "him" problem. Honestly, I knew my family was messed up because of shows like Full House, Family Matters, and Fresh Prince. Media, in this age, is the only connection I can make, how I survived this wrath without "pilling" myself into…

neutral · AI labelView post →At my lowest point I watched Full House. The first season had just enough pathos from the death of the mom to have some, but at the same time it was just silly and fun enough to overcome. Can't recommend all of the series, but the first 2-3? Yeah.
