Described as a spiritual successor to Populous, the game revolves around The Breath, which was summoned by a tribe to help them seek and recover their lost knowledge. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finally managed to get my hands on this game after 16 yrs! I still think that the game mechanics are amazing and that just 10 levels is so much wasted potential. Now for the bad news (and the reasons I do not recommend this game). First of all, €10 for just 10 levels of mostly the same thing is not worth it at all, especially after 16 years. After this, pushing an update for just enforcing an external launcher is a scam in of itsalf, but having to go leaps and bounds JUST for playing the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is beautiful and creative, puzzle solving and very atmospheric. Not played since the Ubi Uplay requirement added. Game is absolutely worth playing, one of my favorites, but not worth dealing with Ubisoft for.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved this game, it was my zen garden but unfortunately Ubisoft broke it. As of Nov 2024 update it is clear they still have no intention of fixing the game. As long as you require ubisoft connect to play From Dust do not waste your money. I can only hope one day someone will create a patch to cut out connect so it is playable again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately, Chahi's brilliance is wasted here on Steam due to Ubisoft's unquenchable greed. There's nothing wrong with the game itsefl, but in order to play it you need a stupid Ubisoft Uplay account AND a special app for the game. Simply vile. The people at Ubisoft that are true artists will forever be overshadowed by the self-sabotaging stupidity of the company itself. I'm glad Chahi went indie.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For Day 9, I decided to draw the super adorable Fidget from Dust: An Elysian Tail. Have yet to play the game, but I've always loved this cute bugger. (Need to get to playing it, my Boyfriend voice acted in it apparently years ago.) - - - - #digitalart #fanart #art #artchallenge #fidget #nimbat

unlabelledView post →https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3012267225 The game works after following the above guide to bypass the Ubisoft launcher. I receive two errors for missing files after starting the game but it launches immediately after without issue. Still fun, glad I got to replay this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The use of the Ubisoft launcher means this is worthless
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have become comfortable with not owning Ubisoft games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never buying Ubisoft products again. Their 3rd party program has gone through so many variations over the years, Uplay, Ubisoft Connect, etc. When I changed my email address, I lost access to whatever account their 3rd party program made, and their support refused to help.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Avoid Ubisoft games. They require a 3rd-Party Account (they cannot be launched directly from Steam). If you lose access to your Ubisoft Account, Steam will not have the information needed to recover it. Ubisoft will not accept a copy of your Steam receipt as proof-of-purchase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This concept art illustration I made for the board game "Cyber Network". This is marauder Reng from Dust Yard.
unlabelledView post →game is great, sadly its connected to ubisoft play launchers. and no matter what i do it wont launch. hope that whoever buys from dust ip fixes this game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft account wont let me log in anymore and when I try to reset my password, i just get an "error" message with no explanation. Obviously customer support has been of no support whatsoever because Ubisoft and Ive exhausted every other option, just being led in a circle. Because of this, I cant play ANY Ubisoft game, including any of the ones Ive had for a long time. So no, I would not recommend this or any Ubisoft game ever, and F*CK UBISOFT, thoroughly.

unlabelledView post →The game itself is pretty good. Not very good though. It only slightly improves on the Black and White formula of "picking things up, and put them down again" by introducing physics in to the mix. The worst thing about this game was the awful, terrible, horrific, Ubusoft copy protection programs that get installed. Not worth buying to infect your PC with that crap. Trust me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For anyone who enjoyed the ambiance of this game, you need to know it is a spiritual successor of Populous: The Beginning, a game from Bullfrog long ago. Absolutely worth traveling back in time to explore it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft, UBESOFT you lock all the games to your malware platform and scam billions of humans across existence and other realities even in death.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought it on steam why do I need to open uplay?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whenever I say to myself, "I want a game where I'm just messing around with stuff," what I mean is "I want to be playing the last level of From Dust."
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →17: Fidget from Dust: An Elysian Tail Fidget might be the most :3c uwu furry OC I have ever seen in a video game and I love her for it.
unlabelledView post →From Dust has a really cool and unique concept, but it is held back badly. The idea of controlling nature and reshaping the environment to help your tribe is genuinely interesting, and the gameplay can be satisfying when everything flows well. It is a different kind of strategy game that stands out. That said, the launcher completely ruins the experience. It is outdated, unreliable, and makes playing the game more frustrating than it should be. Overall, it was okay, but the extra hassle just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →God game like Populous. Game's not bad, jut the DRM and amount of work it take to get the game up and running. Better off playing something else, as this game is limited in content. Ubisoft connect required, 7-10 hours long.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥ 3rd party launchers, to this day i have not actually been able to play this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →they need to do a newer version of this, challenging with a lot of multiple options to be solved. Loved to play this game again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ignore older reviews saying the game doesn't work or the ones that say it needs a workaround. Game works fine now with Ubisoft Connect. No extra steps needed past installing Ubisoft Connect and signing in. I got the game on a $3.74 sale. Used to play it on Xbox 360, had to get it for PC since I don't own an Xbox anymore.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →my wife is replaying From Dust on the ol' PS Triple and I'm still mesmerized by this game. two thoughts. one: haha yeah dude this water looks like baja blast on an OLED. two: damn you eric chahi you brilliant bastard I am begging you to revisit this on modern hardware please, PLEASE.
unlabelledView post →I really really want to recommend this game, but I can’t support ubisofts stupid stupid idiotic no good very bad launcher. If you’re willing to put up with uplay, there’s a unique and laid back world building experience. That I would recommend. Here’s to hoping we one day get a remaster
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As my hours may indicate I have beaten this game more times than I can remember. This is my favourite physics puzzle game I have ever played hands down. If someone could suggest any similar games I would greatly appreciate it but I have yet to find anything close to this style. It's honestly a shame a series of these were not made or at least the ability to make your own maps for others to solve. But at the end of the day, if you have not yet played this 13 year old gem then I assure you it is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, albeit VERY short. but ♥♥♥♥ uplay
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You will notice the vaSt majoriTy of nEgAtive reviews are taLking about Ubisoft being garbage and the DRM and launcher policy beIng player hosTile. They are absolutely correct, but the game is also great, find another way.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have like 6 100% completions off steam of this game. It's honestly not even that crazy of a game I just have a fixation on water lol The way the water physics work has always mystified me, especially getting it to work on an xbox 360, it's always been one of those dreams of mine to make a little prototype or something to recreate it and mess around with it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a unique game this is - and I haven't been able to play it since 2012~ - until now! thanks gaben, Proton11beta fixed it. For anyone looking at From Dust and was diswayed by the negative reviews regarding the Ubislop™ connect launcher, especially if you are on Linux, give it a shot > launch, install ubislop™ launcher > login to the launcher > close the launcher from tray > wait and steam will re-launch the launcher now that you are logged in
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i do like the game but the whole getting it to run is just awful thanks to the launcher and drm i paid for the game its on my steam but don't have the email i used for ubsoft anymore as it got hacked and lost years ago

unlabelledView post →Ubisoft Support is a joke, the game itself is amazing fun to play for what it is, simple yet entertaining, I come back to it every couple months. But the launcher can give you problems, and with such lack of support for the game it might just be better to pass it by
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun god game simulator with puzzle elements where you guide your flock through various hazard riddled lands trying to find a new homeland. It does not have the best control scheme and a bunch of things are not fully explained. Each land has something new or different to try and overcome. All powers have some uses though some are way more important. I loved this game both on the PS3 and the PC. The down side? Ubisoft UPlay crap. It ruins the experience. It is why I do not have ANY…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Used to love this game back in the day. Now I have to uninstall an Ubisoft Launcher (Uplay) or else I can't play. I will revisit this game and recommend it once they get rid of that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the MOST original, unique, and simple fun titles published by Ubisoft from Ubisoft.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My childhood comfort game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite games. It's a shame everyone has such mixed feelings about it. You are a wandering tribe's elemental god, and the Earth is just a canvas upon which to carve landscapes, slow tidal waves, and stopper volcanoes. Without you, your precious and beloved worshippers will never make the journey through a chaotic primordial world. It is only by your forbearance that they may migrate and survive again, as their ancestors before them. I think it's sublime, like some sort of odd…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ubisoft connect. Sick and tired of stuff not neccesary for playing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Making furry OCs is hard cause not only are there all these cool real species to base em on, there are also all these cool fictional ones. I need to be more cringe and start making OCs based on game specific races like the Mimiga from Cave Story, Nimbats from Dust, and Spirits from Ori to name a few
unlabelledView post →This is just a glorified sand box simulator. I remember just how disappointed I was when I first played it after watching those trailers. On the bright side I got a cool hat in team fortress 2, which has given me more joy than watching these stupid tribal people getting stuck in the sand.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gorgeous game with very creative premise around terraforming land. Physics engine is very cool. Unfortunately its a very short game, you can finish the main campaign in about 6 hours. Worth checking out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A visionary puzzle game unfortunately saddled with Ubisoft's treatment. I played From Dust on the Xbox Live Arcade in 2011 and it was captivating to me as a concept. The art direction is highly limited in terms of story but for what it is From Dust is a fun time. My biggest obstacle to enjoying this game as I once did is the publisher itself. The Ubisoft Connect just randomly decided I didn't own the product after 4 hours of play. I don't even have the heart or the energy to try to fix…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game looks interesting, unfortunately it requires a separate launcher and account creation to play. The account creation process appears to be broken in every browser I have tried so the game is unplayable for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was enjoying it until it no longer worked.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not one to give reviews but this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ atrocious. leave it to ubisoft to mangle a possible nostalgic thing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Watching the Heat recently has been kinda sad but to make tonight’s game more palatable I’m knocking back this Black Blizzard, a Russian Imperial Stout from Dust Bowl Brewing in Turlock, California. Love its smoky aroma, roast coffee and chocolate malt punched by earthy hops. It’s quite good! 🍻
