I'm buying second hand like I did the Freedom Writers movie. I can't support them after what they did to Stephen Colbert.
unlabelledView post →Freedom Writers is the only movie I’ll never be tired of watching and has me crying because some shit is relatable.
unlabelledView post →For LA Times (De Los), I talked to Mexican American filmmaker Giselle Bonilla about her feature debut, the dark comedy THE MUSICAL, about her first acting role in the 2007 film FREEDOM WRITERS, and putting her Mexican immigrant parents in her movies🇲🇽🇺🇸 Read here: www.latimes.com/delos/story/...

unlabelledView post →youtu.be/dPoi4hktrJQ?... Obviously this movie is problematic but I keep thinking about Eva's rant about white people in Freedom Writers. "You hate me? You don't even know me. " "I KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO. "
unlabelledView post →I’m watching Freedom Writers. An old film that I’ve never seen before. It’s fantastic
unlabelledView post →Every teacher I know has a teacher movie they love. "Dangerous Minds", ""Lean on Me", "Stand and Deliver" or "Freedom Writers" are what I usually hear. My teacher movie is "Sunmer School". He just wants to connect with his students and is all about their growth.
unlabelledView post →Idk we need a “roll out the big back tv” day at work. But unlike at school it’s not to watch the white savior movie The Help/The Blind Side/Freedom Writers
unlabelledView post →Watched Freedom Writers for the first time. I love Hilary Swank but for some reason thought this was about poetry. I was way off. Great movie, even more so because it was true. This is what teachers can be! And not only in the extreme case either. Powerful!
unlabelledView post →I was watching the movie, “Freedom Writers” tonight and it inspired me. If we could get thousands of people to write letters, stamped letters of how we feel about what is happening and send them to representatives around the country, this would impact our world.
unlabelledView post →i couldn't stay focused on the movie Ghost in the shell. Just watched Freedom Writers which came on immediately after and could not take my mind and eyes off it! Great movie!
unlabelledView post →We really counting Freedom Writers? That film is white as hell in how it presents it's story.
unlabelledView post →There was also the LA Riots. Hell, it was a theme in the non-fiction film, Freedom Writers (from pre-MAGA Paramount), which was based on a true story of Erin Gruwell and her students. www.youtube.com/watch?v=miz1...
unlabelledView post →"90s was 'peak normalcy'" with race relations? Freedom Writers disagrees. That film even had archive footage of the LA race riots.
unlabelledView post →(1/2) I suddenly just remembered the movie Freedom Writers. It's a movie where a white woman becomes an English teacher at an inner city high school full of people of color and teaches them to write about their feelings or something?? and one point in the movie she dead ass
unlabelledView post →Anyone familiar with this film based on a true story? I suggest you take the time. 'Freedom Writers' youtu.be/-8yKSbdDens?...
unlabelledView post →WTH is up with the Pluto App? I guess because it’s free they can just totally suck now. 6 commercials every 3 min break. Knocks you out of a movie you’re watching, shoots you to another movie. Maybe Paramount just doesn’t like the movie Freedom Writers, too woke. Thanks Paramount

unlabelledView post →Pat. I've found a film that'll be right up your street. Based on a true story. 'Freedom Writers'. Netflix. The Holocaust survivors featured in the film were genuine.
unlabelledView post →Today's Mary Worth quotevestigation: the quote from Miep Gies (who sheltered Anne Frank) turns out to be from the "Miep Gies" character in the 2007 white-savior film Freedom Writers starring Hilary Swank. And a *lot* of mainstream news sources repeat it as authentic. Oh well. @jfruh.bsky.social
unlabelledView post →We had to watch the movie for my education classes along with the Hillary Swank white savior vehicle Freedom Writers
unlabelledView post →I saw the movie "Freedom Writers" and it was inspiring! No matter what was thrown at those kids, they kept writing and that is powerful!! I wanna buy their book and read their stories
unlabelledView post →I just finished watching Freedom Writers again for the first time in many years and this is what I feel is missing right now in film. What happened to the movies that actually told a story that meant something? We used to have so many movies of true stories and it seems like all that went away

unlabelledView post →Freedom Writers? The book assignment movie? A black movie? I’m sorry, I have to reject this nonsense lol
unlabelledView post →That is a long and complicated story that won't fit in a skeet, but it also involves the teacher Hilary Swank played in Freedom Writers, promo for a Netflix film that does not exist, and nearly getting arrested for playing basketball in a driveway.

Acting was great and the soundtrack was brilliant! I loved this film and I’ll be getting the book 💕 9/10 Will watch again :)

unlabelledView post →Wanting some relief from the tragic, hateful absurdity of US politics, I replayed an old movie, The Freedom Writers, based on a true story - an uplifting story of transformation within the crushing confines of a broken system. But coming back to today's rebreaking of lives it made me sadder.
unlabelledView post →I love Freedom Writers but I would never consider that a Black movie lmao

unlabelledView post →So... anyone remember the movie Freedom Writers? Based on Erin Gruwell and her students in early 90s California when racial tensions were flaring the most (invoked the 92 riots and everything)? Hadn't seen that movie since Highschool. My highschool had it on DVD and several of my classes showed it.

unlabelledView post →Being a teacher in this century has been traumatic. It’s much more Half Nelson than it is Freedom Writers (& that movie is so fucking gross—white saviourism + female martyrdom). It’s much more being ground down by the machine than it is stopping the gears w our own bodies. We are up against too much

The movie is about a teacher, Erin Gruwell, and her students at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California. The book "Freedom Writers Diary" was published in 1999. MUST WATCH 💗 #FreedomWriters
