There is a Fox in the ballroom! Or so the whispers from the other ballroom dancers suggest. Can the Flock trap the Fox before it is too late? Or will the Fox systematically eat all the other dancers before they even realize he is in their midst? From the Steam store page

60 of 127 · most liked firstFox & Flock is a neat little board game. Something you play for a half hour to kill some time. Sadly, it's very light on features, almost feeling like a demo for a full featured game. But for under $2.00 I *really* can't complain. Overall, I really enjoyed it and I hope the creators decide to make a chess game with the same aesthetics. The Good: ++Fun game! ++Fantastic art style ++Fitting classical soundtrack +Narrator is quite entertaining +Local Multiplayer +Steam Cards The Bad: -No online…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game rules are fairly simply. I am not going to try to explain them in detail here, it would be a waste of your time but if you are a fan of games like GO, Chess and Checkers you will be on familiar ground. If you are not a checkers pro, fear not; there is a quick tutorial game that teaches everything you need to know about the rules in about three moves. Throughout the Story mode you play as both the Fox and the Flock. Each round is tied together by voice acted narrative poetry.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's difficult to criticize cheap games, but I found myself not pleased with my overall experience of the game. The length of the main part of the game is to be expected, so no problems there. However, there is so little replay value even with the quick game option. No multiplayer is a glaring example. My experience with the game in both story and quick play has been to repeat the same moves repeatedly until the ai eventually makes a mistake. If the aim of the game is to win, then I find this…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Old board game with story tutorial. While you will probably enjoy playing [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_games]this old game more against an actual human on an actual board (or perhaps via Internet and the Tabletop Simulator), this game teaches anyone (and thanks to full voice-overs, that means children, too) the basics of this game. There's the "tutorial", and then there's a short campaign with poetic narration; it took me half an hour to complete. If you have no one to play with,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fox and Flock is a lovely adaptation of a classic strategy board game that has been around for centuries. This version plants the core game itself inside a dark tale rich with comedy and tragedy ~ uninvited Guests at a ball. I greatly enjoyed the production value of the game; the artwork was quite well done and the choice of baroque period music fits very well with the story.. My only minor complaint was that the perspective of the board at times makes it difficult to see where pieces are or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a huge fan of board games for my computer. Anything I can fire up quickly, learn how to master, and just keep for those days when my more heavy duty games aren't keeping my interest is always something I'm willing to add to my list. I've never played the game that inspired Fox & Flock so I made sure I played close attention to the tutorial. This is a very quick game to learn and I have a special love for things that come from the 1800s so color me already interested. The music is very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →+ classic board game + cute + cheap (US$0.5 @ 73% off) for 3 hours gameplay - no online multiplayers - you can never be lose as flock if you are an experienced player. The price is justified for such a simple game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Fox & Flock is a short strategy board game - easy to learn and a joy to play as a fun distraction after you've killed every alien, zombie and soldier in all your 'bigger games'! So what is it? The concept is simple enough: a peg board with pieces - one is a Fox who must try to take all the other pieces by jumping over them into a space (just like checkers/draughts). Meanwhile, the player of the Flock must try to keep enough alive to populate the bottom 3 x 3 peg area at the bottom of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A deliciously sweet board game, no doubt, but a very poor and tactically-cheap computer game, Fox and Flock has moments where it all comes together - art style, music, bold strategic gambits! - but tragically more times where the AI resorts to cheap repetitive moves to force your fox to do something that is against your interest. Othertimes (when you are the flock) the foxes "cheat" by moving multiple illegal moves or your flock pieces refuse to move into empty slots even when the move is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short version: 63% If you like halatafl (fox & geese), you’ll like Fox & Flock, since it is nothing more than a video game adaptation of the classic board game with a reasonable AI and no multiplayer. Long version: Fox & Flock had a simple goal: create a video game version of the old medieval board game of halatafl, also known as fox & geese. If you haven’t met it yet, halatafl is a fairly easy game, sort of a combination of checkers and GO, where the large amount of geese are trying to trap…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Such an amazing game with such great game play. They so could of charged more for this game. So worth the price!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No window mode.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super cute and complex puzzle board game. The story is silly and dark at the same time. Doesn't take itself very seriously, but has a great difficulty curve despite the humor. Some small quirks like getting stuck in a loop of moving pieces back and forth, but usually can find a way to get things moving again. And just when you think playing as the fox is easier, the game switches on you and leaves you wishing you were the flock! Highly recommend ^_^
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →hmm. Yes quite. Quite fancy indeed. The classical music, dark concept, and stimulating strategy make for a joyous occassion.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Wow! This game is absolutely marvelous! The gameplay is fun and addicting, couple that with a perfect presentation in the form of beautiful art and music and you have one joy of a game! And look at the price! I've seen games that cost ten times more, and have half of what this game has to offer. BUY IT NOW!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cute little game based on the old board game fox and geese. Other than that, there's not really a whole lot to say about the gameplay in general. The story is passable, ( though, as a fan of foxes I wasn't too fond of the ending,) and will only take about an hour to play through. Great way to kill some time at a bus stop or an airport. It has a quick start option, so after you beat the story there is still some playability, however I've discovered the AI can be duped into certain moves…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic board game with bollocks. Don't play it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fox & Flock is neat little game, that is based on board game, which after so many years of having in my possession I finally understand how to play. There is not much to this game. You have available story mode and custom game, wrapped in nice visual theme and music that really hits the sweet spot in my ears. Custom game have bunch of options to tailor game for you particular taste. Also, it will allow you to play against someone else - well, someone else who is sitting next to you. I would…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →⭐⭐ ⭐ ★ ★ Picked it up for a song at 24 cents, About an hours worth of storyline with good narration / style. Would eat party-goers again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has foxes; Must buy
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short puzzle game where you have to take turns being the victim and the murderer. It was quite interesting and well worth the play. I shall have to try and complete it again some day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, especially for the price. Pretty and artistic style, cute short story. Got a glitch where the turns got mixed up, but only once and the fix was to restart the story, which given its short nature wasn't that big of a problem.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The rules are very simple. The presentation is stylish and well done. Music suits the style. But the core gameplay is pretty boring and this game has some game breaking bugs that forces you to restart the whole match. I really do think that board games shouldn't have any bugs. The AI is very lackluster. You can't turn off the music (there is no such setting). Lack of features doesn't help this game either.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an intriguing and challenging strategy game with a fancy atmosphere that reminds me of the Boyles' Party in Dishonored. I am not certain of its replay value, but if you can get it during a sale, it will be fun for a few hours!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lovely concept, but unfortunately not much content. I have enjoyed this game each of the three times I played it through. I could listen to the narrator time and time again, but his beautiful words won't change the fact that there is not much to be played. I don't remember exactly how long it took me to play the story through the first time, maybe 25-40 minutes. Aside story mode you can play a quick game, where you get to choose difficulty, faction played etc, but I did not notice any more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An absolutely cute game. Even though the story is short, the theme and communication makes this game enjoyable. Great strategy board game and nice art. Got it for 24 cents, but would still buy this game at full price. 10/10 would be eaten by foxes again.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: Fun strategy game Cheap Easy to run Cons: Short story Only about an hour and a half of gameplay Conclusion: It's worth definantly buying but you will get bored of it after an hour or so
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a neat little borad game that you can but some time in to, But it won't be that many as the story is short. Sure there is a "quick game" option wich let's you play a match with bots. AND, there is a two player mode, so if you got a friend at your house and want to play a little fun stratergy board game play this! +It's easy to get in to and be entertained +Nice soundtracks +Nice art style -Bugs/Glitches -Can't use steam overlay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A rather great ball If I do say so myself, Even If a few of the dancers keep leaving early, (heh heh) please, Join us! you'll be in for a great time,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As it says it's based on the concept of the board game Fox & Geese. The story mode is short but fun. The story is decent and can also sometimes give different pop ups if you manage to be stealthy long enough. The gameplay actualy keeps you on your toes and makes you think ahead. There is also a quick game where 1-2 players can play depending on the parameters you set. It is well worth the price and i recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"There is blood on the floor! It's a Fox! Everybody run!" A fun, sophisticated board game. Sadly there is not much varying content and a couple of bugs that have not been fixed since 2016. Still, you will find some fun times in this game and I do recommend it, since it is pretty cheap. Minus points for not having achievements.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fox & Flock is a fun little puzzler with charming artwork, classical music, and local co-op. It has a delightful (although short) story, fully narrated through a fantastically devised poetry. I wish it was longer but the puzzle itself is thought-provoking and the game was quiet inexpensive. There are a few things that I think would really go a long way in this game. First up, I think all games should have the ability to use settings to control various volume. The music is gorgeous but very…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →90 min for complete story - it's kinda short. But the story itself - very nice... and tasty!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really well made. The art, sound and gameplay are top notch. The story is great, specially the way the narrator tells it (but I won't spoil it). Great puzzle, an interesting and refreshing idea on one of the puzzles I played most when I was a kid. Worth buying if you are into pure puzzle games. The price is absurdly cheap for what it offers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love how in the story u hear both sides of the Flock that wanna trap the fox, and the Fox side of trying to eat as much guest as he can.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice little thinking game. Funny and clever storyline and a quick play option with many settings to try out. If you like boardgames, you can't go wrong with this one and it also has only a small price. WARNING! Eventually a very rare, but big bug can occur which results in an instant crash of the game, right after the start. That means you won't be able to play it at all. It is unclear what exactly causes this bug and it magically disappeared for me after i had to reinstall my OS, so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game could be fun, and IS fun in low levels, but in higher levels, waiting for an AI error is quite borring... Music is soft, but sometimes i like hearing my own music during games... Can't disable it in game so...it could had be a good option... And very very very short.... hopefully just paid 0.20€ for this game...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lack of content overall, but what is there is good, and you can't complain about that with the low price. There is an issue with pieces being obscured, though that does not make play impossible by any means. I am confused by one mechanic, however. The game explains that the flock can trap the foxes. However, in story mode, I managed to trap the flock as the foxes. https://41.media.tumblr.com/04fb7c6f6397d7870dfd436854873da7/tumblr_nqbi48SIPK1r30qklo1_540.png I'm not sure why the size is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Excellent game! Surprisingly interesting story, nice music, great theme, lovely art style and design and simple yet at times challenging game mechanics, although a slightly longer story would have been nice wonderful as I finished it in less than 20 minutes I'd say. But honestly a lovely game for only £1 or so!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This really is a wonderful game and presented very well. From the music to the art and even the narrator, it feels like you are attending a Regency ball. The theme also perfectly fits the game itself. The pieces moving back and forth, trapping and countering, dodging and attacking... it all does look quite a bit like a dance even when their is blood spilt on the floor. The story is short, but charming, and I would love to see more of it. I quite enjoy the banter back and forth as the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very clever twist ending, I loved this game There was a minor problem that encountered twice where the computer wouldn't move at the beginning of the game and I had to restart from the menu screen. I'll give it 11/10, if not just for Bach
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm probobly halfway through this wonderful take on a childrens folklore . The Classical background music, complete with a variety of artsy, sophisticated animals in ball gown dresses and suits. Even if the flock doesn't say much in diversity, the music hints a great atmosphere with great narrorating from a voice that sounds vary familiar to me as a kid reading along to a CD audio clip for enlgish class. I can see great replay value in this game (VERY CLOSE TO NINE-MAN'S MORRIS IN Assasins…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess for that price you can not complain, but even though I like Riddle games and also like the game fox in flock as a board game, this game was not my cup of tea. The artwork is very nice and there is a story mode to play. The controls where not always responsive and often you are left without really knowing what to do.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got this for 49 cents. Played the tutorial, and the story mode, and was done in 48 minutes. Kind of disappointing that it was so short. The hand-drawn artwork is good. It's hilarious that "blood" appears on the floor, as well as the fox's clothes, every time the fox eats somebody. Orchestra music plays in the background, which is relaxing. A narrator speaks in poetry between the story mode's "levels". When you play as the fox, it's kind of like 'Checkers'. You have to jump a flock…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fox & Flock is a twist on the centuries old Fox & Geese board + peg game (it plays a little like checkers). To add some value to an otherwise incredibly shallow (by todays standards) game, it's themed up a bit and reskinned (just a veneer, window dressing) and gameplay is arranged into different peg layout scenarios as you alternate between playing the fox and the geese. I'm not sure why this is on Steam, as it comes across more as a mobile app or a browser game. From a technical…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not Recommended
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't say if this is good or bad because I don't usually play board games.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just buy this just for the sake of listening to classical music and eating aristocrats while being an aristocratic fox
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got it on sale for 49 cents, and it’s definitely worth at least that. Gameplay is based on an old board game called “fox and geese”, a distant relative of checkers. Gameplay is okay, but the real value is in the framing story. Good voice work by the narrator as he tells the tale of a fox at the ball with unsuspecting dancers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little strategy game with some interesting scenarios and fun chess-like competition when played with a friend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has a short story but I really enjoyed it. Its a fun time waster for sure. I reccomend it if you're looking for something to play that doesn't last too long for a match.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did a sick ollie the other day, than your girlfreind tickeld my butthole and ate ice cream with your mother, then she showed me this dope game called Fox&Flock, If you get any game today make sure its F&F and for a price of $1.99 worth every tittie twist. Game Informer - "Rare"
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very neat little game, somewhere between puzzle and board game. I love the charming hand-sketched look of the art. I can easily recommend this to anyone that enjoys similar board games and puzzles.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is short. And yet, a delectable morsel to behold. Intelligent Games really outdid themselves with this game. It's simple. It's clean. It's elegant in design, aesthetics, and wonderful in music. And yet they managed to accomplish this with such minimalistic assets. This game truly goes to show just how little material and how a lot of polish can really bring out a wonderful game. That and a brilliant voice actor who narrates the game and really does bring the charm of this little…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's not much to say really, other than simply, boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IT'S TOO EASY AS A CHESS GAME...... THE HAREST LEVEL WASN'T REALLY CHALLENGING BUT THE WAY PLAYING IT IS QUITE NOVEL(AT LEAST I NEVER HAD THIS EXPERIENCE) SO....IT'S STILL WORTH TO BUY IT IF YOU ARE FINDING A RELAXED GAME
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A surprisingly hard asymmetrical board game, whose story mode keeps swapping you back and forth between each side. There's a narration voice-over in rhyme, telling bits of story between levels, and the art style is plain but reasonable. Worth a buck or two.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gorgeous Edward Victorian artwork complimented with dark and snarky humour. Mechanics are simple yet extremely satisfying for a rainy afternoon of fox-trotting. Mm.. what a wonderfully macabre pun of a game. A tip of the hat to the developer.
