Reminds me of Valheim and if you like games like valheim I'm sure this is a game you'd like. However it's a fraction. The game added a lot of things that I was looking for in games, like passive skill training etc. However, since there are many issues or things that just don't float my boat I will put a not recommended, wait a couple years and see where it goes. I am not too fond of…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you are looking for a fun, rather captivating survival game, with boats, here ya go! I want to be clear when I tell you that this is a small scope game. Developed by 2 people as a passion project, the dimensions are not vast and mind breaking. What it is, is fun. Building mechanics are full of creative potential. Within the small scope, the resource management has you working in a fun way, making you ask if you want the treasure when you set out for bamboo or clams. Boat models are pretty…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been gaming for over 25 years. Games come and go but this is one of the little gems I was so pleasantly surprised to find. It may appear humble at first but before long you will find yourself immersed with it's charm and personality. It has all the elements I love about a game, crafting, building, exploring, sailing, pirate battles, character progression, and an interesting background story you will discover along the way that makes it truly unique. It's still in early access but I have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate that I gotta give this one a non-recommended but it's simply not there for a full release game. There's a ton of fun elements to the game but it's missing a lot to be considered a 1.0. It's a 0.6 or 0.7 at best. Sailing ships, building bases, exploring, it's all super fun and something I love and have been craving in some survival games, I was hoping this one would scratch that itch, but it's missing a lot. The promo videos and images are not at all what is in the game. I'll say…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love this game. It has its rough edges, but it's a genuinely fun experience alone or with friends. It's also been updated regularly since I've been playing. The general experience is that of building a base and sailing out to various islands to gather materials and loot. The most valuable stuff comes from limited time events where islands or fleets or traders will appear (usually for an hour at a time). Most quests are repeatable as well, which will allow you to gain their rewards multiple…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome game with beautiful scenery. There are many different ships available even early on, a detailed journal explaining everything, and plenty of missions to complete — all of which make this game worth your time. However, one thing is so annoying that I literally stopped playing: water and food! They drain so quickly that it’s impossible to enjoy the game. Every five minutes, a red border appears on the screen, blinking and warning me to quickly take some nourishment because my vitals are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ok first let`s talk about the good things game concept is good, textures are ok, there is a understandable gameplay loop now to things need polishing: charakter movment item (chest, crafting bench) interaktion, when mouse hoverd over objects ther is no info (after a while of playing) ship movment (interaction with waves) the bigest flaw is no tutorial, no tooltip (or its hiden due to the no info bug i described earlyer) and no customizable keybindings at this moment i cant give a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wanted to like this game. The visuals are actually pretty good, which makes everything else even more disappointing. The melee combat mechanics are the weakest, by a wide margin, that I've seen in a long time. Unless I've missed something, there is no block, no dodge, no heavy attack, and no real defensive mechanics. Fights boil down to left-clicking until you - or the enemy - dies. On top of that, attacking feels sluggish and unresponsive. I've genuinely seen AI-generated prototype games…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First, let me say I enjoy playing this game, I have 210 hours into it and feel I got my moneys worth. I enjoy sailing/pirate games and can put up with a lot of issues common to an early release game, though I don't see it listed any longer as an early release, it most certainly plays like one. For a team of 2 developers I think they have done a good job so far but I think they have ignored some quality of life issues in favor of cramming out a little new content. So I cannot recommend this game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very poorly optimized game. Had my 4090 Ultra fans screaming. This should still be EA until it is optimized properly and the game has more. The guy doing the narration is not in a room meant for recording. The eco in the room is terrible and his voice is MUCH louder than the game settings. This game still needs work and should still be EA
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a cute little indie pirate game, you sail around, build things, fight various enemies. It has all the basics of a crafter survival game, a solid foundation. It's super clunky, very little of the game's systems are explained and the world isn't nearly immersive enough that you could just find things out. It's a bit buggy at times, so things will disappear. Very much looks early access. Definitely only bundle/sale, not worth 23€. Has potential. The quests get worse as you progress tho:…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ill keep an eye on it, just felt too low production value for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR I would recommend this game if you want to support a small, indie developer with an interesting idea and are okay with this not being a polished product that might or not get better. It's quite fun for what it is, and it's certainly worth picking up if the price is right and you go in with the proper expectations. ----- I recommend this game, but you need to be aware of what you are getting into. Imagine if your friend made a game in their spare time and asked you to check it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a bit like valheim with cannon ships. Campfire boosts your energy which is a plus. overall it is unique enough to not be yet another survival slop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm torn on this one. I do like the concept and the overall setup. However, the game is far too basic to be considered a "1.0" product at this point. Controls are horrid, fighting of any kind feels like a completely random clicking process. Animations of key activities are so basic that they look like something from 1999. I understand that the game is created by a small development team, which is part of why I'm torn. On the other hand, I play almost exclusively Early Access games, and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Always over weight. Always out of storage. Always trying to run around an island to find a tree to chop down. Feels like %90 of the islands trees you cant chop down. I'm sure this game is great. But I can't get past the early stages. It's not enjoying.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is ambitious. To a fault. I'm giving it a positive review mostly out of support and the hope that it evolves, which I’m sure it will over time. That said, only buy this on sale for now. After October 24th, let them cook and keep it on your wishlist. Pangea Game Studios is a literal family dev team. Not "family" in the corporate sense, but an actual family. Even the daughter does a little Gearbox-style intro voiceover, which is rad. What’s less rad is asking $15 on sale and $25 full…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's very similar to every other survival game out there except it's fun. I've played loads of em and more often than not I get fed up with the sheer amount of work you have to do but this game is a great but if fun - not too deep and the sailing is fun. More simplistic than some but more interesting for it. A great little game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Understand this is in early access, that being said the world feels quite empty, nothing in water but sparsely placed sharks, flotsam and ships. Maybe it should be this way, but still the world feels empty. The concept is good. Combat needs a overhaul, and the crafting needs to be more structured and intuitive. The game to me feels like it is in it's first alpha testing stages. Understand it is a very small company and I wish them all the best. It is cute, and I will keep an eye for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Saw the game cus it was bundled with captain bones hoping it brings a similar or better pirate experience due to its price but nah, Tried to like the game but the sailing mechanic just turns me off. Sailing feels more like driving a car than having a ship as it uses WASD as its controls. No ability to control the sails, there is a wind the boost your speed but it comes in all directions and is just acts as a speed buff when driving in water. Player has no animations when driving smaller boats.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →latest update is great! love the new boats, nice and smooth. Hooked to treasure hunting. Overall this game has a great blend of fun things to do. Whether you like livin on the beach or sailing. Whether you like big cannon ship fights or base building. I am brewing in my beachfront villa already
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →80 Hours in, this is essentially a survival game but really its an old-fashioned nautical/pirate/ship game too.. so if its a genre that interests you, definitely look into it.. especially on sale its a great price. Note: It's a 2 person dev team, I feel like that's important because if you go in with an expectation that its not perfect (which no game is tbf) I think you will enjoy the game a lot more... but the game very much works and is quite unique... it has a real depth and really can keep…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Surprisingly fun game. Great job developers. Fun solo, but great with friends. Looking forward to more updates and content. Beautiful world. 10/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Has potential, but they just missed it with all the bugs.. Got this for me and my grandson since we both like survival craft games and this one, at first, seemed to check a lot of boxes. Just an hour or so in is when it all went downhill. Constant issues with inventory hanging or looking at a campfire but the game things you want to chop a tree... If this was in EA, I'd say it might be worth it to see where it's going but ... it's only partly playable as is and on full release. It's right on…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish there was a way to give a neutral rating on games... this game sits, clearly, in neutral territory, somewhere closer to bad than good... but not bad enough to be negative. It has a good premise for a survival game, the graphics are good, etc... but gameplay wise this game is really, really, really undercooked, and I cannot state that enough. Very undercooked. Combat feels clunky, combat looks clunky, combat is clunky. Combat is really not fun and feels uninspired and slapped in.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is not a realistic sailing simulator, it is not a hardcore survival simulator. It is a game with sailing and survival elements and it is fun. If you want realistic, buy a boat and sail to the amazon to fight cannibals in the forest.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A husband and Wife development team :) ================================= Hello did you ever wonder how good games were made and lived on though the developers well what makes a game in my opinion starts from the foundation of the developers if its a solo developer or a group of friends or in this game a loving couple between husband and wife, Who seem to actually go out of there way in the reviews and discussions to discuss and talk to the community in a respectful way this helps…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very nice "pirate" game, with lots of possibility's & great building and crafting systems.. + The good quality/price result deserve a lot more players also ;-) Many things to do for a lot of hours playing fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When I first bought this and played the first minutes I didn't think much of it, but this game surprised me in a lot of ways! Forget the usual static scenarios we have in most survival games, this is a vibrant living world with events happening around you and all over the place! Building bases the way you want or commanding different ships in naval battles, cooking, crafting, decorating, doing bounties or just enjoying the sunset however you like, I totally recommend buying this game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How is this not early access?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: For a game out on 1.0 feels like pre-alpha, want to like it but it just dosen't work.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was advertised as a 1.0 release. It is, however, far from a full game. The movement is janky, the combat even worse. I can hit a turtle with a knife from legitimately 10 feet away. The ships do not move like ships should. The objectives are ill-thought-out. Progression is totally whack. There's a lack of a tutorial of any kind. Nothing makes sense in it at all. The writing vs what is being narrated don't match up at all. It's just a mess of a game. This is more of a concept/early…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is an absoutle joke, you move ur health goes down rapidly. its a joke to the orgianl sea of theives is way better than this garbage dont waste your time or your money
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool idea but the AI thumbnail and unity engine makes me think this is possibly a cash grab or asset flip game. I would wait a while before playing. Got my refund but who knows what files got installed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Appreciating this is made by a small dev couple, Forgotten Seas is a very fun and engaging fantasy nautical game that had me wanting to see more. Aside from Early access and small team jank ( in the kindest way ) I had most importantly..fun! And thats the point isnt it, to have fun with these games so I look forward to seeing what comes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Standard difficulty is relaxed, and enjoyable. Have not tried a harder mode yet im enjoying some relaxing piracy and survival for once, instead of being punished to play like many survival games. Some controls are a little wonky but they work. Crafting is not hard and requiring maddening gathering skills. Co op should be an enjoyable family or friends experience.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2.5 out of 5 stars... I find the game fun but the buggy glitches are a mess and so much more could be fixed. It has potential but charging people $32.49 for this? is wild. Have you even played your own game yet or just slapped it together to write down that a little family made it? Reminds me of those phone games when you shoot the cannon "fire!" I hope more effort goes into it for the future

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall A maybe A+ (with a little more work) was enjoyable. would like a desert / volcanic area. would be nice to have portal to new areas or timelines, or multiplayer. would be nice to setup personal teleporters to your base/islands. would like to see bows, and aiming so things dont always hit...
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Much has improved I am having fun Update to this last review and got to admit it is more fun then first posted. Not at all regretting the purchase. Love It :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Here's that vid on Forgotten Seas, the survival pirate sailing game. Couldn't think of a good splash image, sorry. Anyway, hope you find the vid useful!
unlabelledView post →I am addicted to early access survival games, a lot end up disappointing but this is not one of them! A 2 person team? Great job. I look forward to more and more content, this has a great foundation and I have barely scraped he surface. It will keep you busy whether you like combat, looting or just building and farming. Fun game!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cosy Survival Survival games are rarely this easy and almost cosy. Sure there are sharks who want to eat you, pirates all over, pirate ships, ghosts, ghost ships, towering battleships... But generally you just need to stay out of the driving rain to stay alive. So it is pretty easy. The best part of the game is the simple yet broad crafting of items that you need to consume and then later on sell. The game keeps surprising you as you progress and discover more and more challenges and more and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arg! Do you like Loot? Ghost Pirates? Loot? Lost Treasures! Loot? Crafting and Building? Broadsiding a shark? More Loot!?! If you said yeas to anything then Forgotten Seas is the game for you. This a is a great game. I have had lots of fun with almost 175 hours in game. At the Winter sale price of just under $14 you can't go wrong with this amount of bang for your buck... or rather Broadside for your Dubloons ;) If you have that open world pirating game itch then don't wait! Did I mention…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game for myself and my partner, and the only fun we really had with the game came from making fun of its quality. Already on the very first island, we noticed a huge amount of jank. Some of the Trees missing collision. Being able to walk up the trees with collision, as the characters seem to be goats and not human. Holding the crouching button while going out of water spazzes the animation out. Oh, and if one player chops the wood? The other sees the numbers on the middle of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very pleased with the game, an open world sandbox pirate game, just what i was looking for. For just 2 developers making this ,it has a lot of content and heart put into it . Its a project made with love and passions and it shows. If i have to name any cons - its mostly nitpicks (janky animations, janky npc´s), some quality of life stuff would help. The loot is plentiful, the combat is acceptable , but it needs some work (too easy). Events happening around you all the time. Its also survival ,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First off, I am LOVING the fact that it's based off of a real event. The triangle has always fascinated me since I was a little girl living in FL. The graphics are amazing, the game play is good, it still needs tweaking, because, after all, it's still in ALPHA. The developers are on top of their "game" hehe. They listen to you, and try to fix any problems you find as soon as they can. If you are looking for a fun, world building game, where you relax and enjoy, this one is for you!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Consider this more a critical review than an indictment; it's rough around the edges and not what I was looking for, but neither would I necessarily call it bad. On the surface level it looks like this could be a seafaring/piracy game with integrated survival mechanics but from what I've played I'd say it's much more a survival game with naval trimmings. Less Sea of Thieves or Sid Meier's Pirates, more ARK if it were made by two people, focused on boats instead of dinosaurs, and you don't get…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got the next video edited and ready to go. Instead of releasing today, I think I'll set it for tomorrow just to give YT enough time to do its thing in the background. Anyway, vid is about Forgotten Seas, a pirate-based survival game made by a husband and wife team. I think it's pretty dang good.
unlabelledView post →Expect your game play to involve a lot of sailing and minimal survival aspects. I like this game, but I HATE this game! It's an energy based game. Meaning, when you do anything (run, chop a tree, OR FIRE YOUR CANNONS [major BS]) it uses energy. As you level up, this doesn't really become an issue anymore. The survival aspects are good; things respawn fast and with abundance. **Spoiler** once you have an axe, just find coconut trees, they're all you need to survive. I never upgraded my vitality…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game, it has good game play and plenty to do, its still in development and the progress they have made is fantastic for a just 2 developers. the game for me is very relaxing, and its survival on the seas, look out for the sharks, the storms, the dangerous islands and not forgetting the ship battles, you can have many ships, build yourself a desert island mansion or tiny shack, its all up to you, well worth the money
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun pirate game. Graphics aren't hyper-realistic, but the play is nice. Not sure what the reviews were talking about with regards to stressing out systems.. i5-11600k, 32Gb DDR4-3200, RTX 4070ti Super and its running great, no stress at all, 100+ FPS. It gets deeper the longer you play, with plenty of things to strive for. Of course, it takes a little getting used to, but that's with any game. Enjoying it so far.. While I hesitate to compare games directly, it's rather obvious the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a great laugh - a good balance between crafting and action and always pleasing to look at. The boat mechanics are particularly nice and the various challenges are doable without being to easy. Excellent value for money - nice one guys
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The main problem of this game what it's made by 2 man from free assets and not event worried about polishing final product. Control map uncomfortable and doesn't matching with standart control map of other survival games from others indi-devs. The main gameplay - survival, made poorly. You can't cut down any tree you see, only "special" which is big logs called as "Driftwood". You just spawnned near small sand island without any clues how things working in this game, since you can't play in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game. Only problem I'm having is it is jut not saving on multiplayer. After level 18 it just wont save. I tried manually saving too and it didnt work. Other than that the game is very enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This has been a fun game these 2 devs have made. it has a lot to it already and has some good mechanics and gameplay. A solid 8/10. would be nice if you could buy and sell certain items from a wandering event merchant. map expansion, dead souls island with skeletons/ghosts, a crossbow, different/ more enemy types, there's a lot that could be added to the game and yet I enjoy it how it is now. would be great to see them continue improving/working on this one. almost has a black flag feel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just not worth the money. 2 developers or not... single devs have done (much) better. Everything is just yanky and in a proof of concept state. Too many issues to list them all, so ill just state the first few you will hit: * No Sound / Music sliders. You get a dropdown with on, off, quiet, loud. Not what you wanted? Tough luck. * Two premade toons, no customization. * Movement is yank as if the game released as one of the very first 3d games ever. I remember those games and some where better…
