And on Broadway, the original Troy Maxson in Fences and the greatest Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof I have ever seen. RIP James Earl Jones. www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...

Sure, they stop the shark by the end of the movie, BUT THE KARATE MUNCHKINS ARE STILL OUT THERE CHOPPING THE HELL OUTTA FENCES *THAT* should have been the focus of Jaws 2! #Jaws2024

unlabelledView post →A Film to Watch! This film adaptation of the play “Fences” by August Wilson stars Viola Davis and Denzel Washington. It follows a Black father trying to raise and support his family in the 1950s while dealing with his own misgivings. It’s poignantly beautiful and emotional. 🎬Denzel Washington

unlabelledView post →Denzel is an amazing actor. One of the great things about the stage is being able to see different actors play the same role. You can watch James Earl Jones as the father in Fences on YouTube and then watch Denzel play the same role in the movie version. Two titans.

unlabelledView post →If you ever get a chance compare the audience reaction of the theatre performances of Fences featuring James Earl Jones from 1987 and Denzel Washington from 2010. It's not a comedy but in 2010 the audience is cackling through the same dramatic scene as if they're watching a Wayans brothers movie.

It took nearly a decade for Denzel to direct another film and this time it sailed through the Oscars with four nominations and one won out of it. Yeah, it was Viola Davis, who snatched the most prestigious award for her supporting actress role. Originally the film based on the stage play of the same name. It is a drama takes place in the 50s about a hard working family man, Troy. His past was not very good, which makes him a little arrogant when it comes…
