unlabelledView post →16. Everdeep Aurora Yet another I must revisit and finish, but from what I've played it's another delightful Steamworld Dig style game, where you play as a little kitten with a drill who is trying to find her mother in a mysterious underground realm. Just take a look at those visuals!

unlabelledView post →I'm an hour in, and I'm in love. I regret not getting my work done today before I started because I don't think I can stop. This might be the most addictive game I've ever touched. It's so satisfying. You play as a little lost kitty. You can meow. There are characters and quests and treasures and secrets. The bricks fill back in over time, so you can go back and forth making new paths. I can't stress enough how much I love this. The controls are smooth and responsive on the steamdeck. The…

unlabelledView post →I think this one was just not for me. It felt a bit like what if a game like Steamworld Dig was more focused on the story and characters, and less on the gameplay. There's zero risk, or really even much thought involved in much of anything you do here, just wander, talk to people, look for hidden areas, until you reach the end. That's fine. Cozy games have an audience, and I might even have enjoyed it if the story clicked with me, but it didn't. It all felt like it was leading up to finale…

unlabelledView post →I'd...like to reccommend this and they have the start of something good here but it's...not enough. Too short. The game feels like half a game. So many items are useless and clearly there were supposed to be more quests and such that just aren't in the game. A shame.

unlabelledView post →It's okay. The game is enjoyable enough as a short romp (3-6 hours), but I was constantly having gripes or wishing for what could have been. Things I wish for the game: - Deplete the pips within your energy canisters to better reflect your fuel; early in the game only knowing that I'm somewhere between 1 and 50% of my energy is not enough info for me to plan around. It also just feels really bad that it doesn't do this. - A warning or acknowledgement somewhere that this game does not…

As a lost kitten looking for her mother, dig down and upgrade your drill as you meet the denizens of the underground on your path to the mysterious Everdeep. There's no combat, with a focus on exploration and simple platforming to get to where you're going. The pixel art is top-notch and the music is incredible. The story asks you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, I admit it—I’m weak for any game with a cat. But Everdeep Aurora is way more than that. It’s a lovely pixel art adventure where you explore underground, meet interesting characters, and dig your way forward with a drill. Don’t miss it! #demo #indiegame #indiedev
unlabelledView post →I've been slowly making my wa through Everdeep Aurora. What a beautiful game. Fun exploration, gorgeous art, and music. And its people are so warm. Between this and Superman, it's great to see stories confidently saying being kind to each other is the way we win.
unlabelledView post →i played the hell out of the demo and was obsessed with it. full release plays just as smoothly. the style is NUTS. the art is CUTE. i could drill through the everdeep's undergrounds forever. really incredible work here, i hope nautilus makes more games but if not, this is one to be proud of.

unlabelledView post →Is this a bad game? No. Is it a good game? No. Its hard to not be judged against Steamworld Dig when your kinda in the same lane and that game is better in every conceivable way. I did like the aesthetics, even if I found the colors kinda unpleasant. The biggest issue I have is how this game requires a ton of backtracking which is fine and fun, but the map is pure trash and doesn't even highlight half of the stuff you can visit (even after the final upgrade). I got the first ending and get the…

unlabelledView post →+ lovely art direction + funny and cute characters and interactions + good controls overall - the biggest problem with this game is how much potential it has but it doesn't do anything with it, the sense of progression is almost non existent! you collect materials to upgrade your drill but you don't feel anything different after, you collect so many useless items that adds nothing, everything feels unrewarding. the game length is perfect for it to make every upgrade noticeable without…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a charming and stylistically-impressive game, make no mistake, but if you don't like wandering around and figuring things out for yourself, it might not be for you; there's very little hand-holding in here, you're expected to find your own way through the underground. I'm not even certain if I've "beaten" the game or not, despite seeing credits roll *three times*. Looking past that (and other shortcomings; the resetting of the radar map every time you start playing again, the interact…

unlabelledView post →I respect the amount of earnestness, love, and care the devs have clearly put into Everdeep Aurora, and for that reason I am clicking the "Yes" button to 'Do you recommend this game?'. I do not recommend this game. Like many other reviewers, I was hoping for something akin to Steamworld Dig where I would carve a path through the world and be mindful of how to traverse up as well as down, with my tools growing as I explored and expanded. There are whispers of that, but the drill upgrades are…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An enjoyable short experience! There were a few times I felt a bit lost as to what the game wanted me to do (especially in pursuit of the true ending) but it was all together a good time! The art-style and music were both very well done, and the use of colour palette on the semi-monochrome characters for tone was fantastic.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not sure how to describe this other than a "cozy platformer," which is a little awkward for a few reasons - it isn't strictly /cozy/ because it's about the end of the world and the characters occasionally say light swears like "damn!" But also it's not really just a platformer because while you traverse by mining and jumping and there's lots of platforming sections, it's also an exploration and story game? But most of the time you're hanging out with fuzzy animal friends and cute frogs and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This starts out as a charming game. Interesting quirky characters, no combat, and for the longest time, no hard platforming challenges of note. It also has the most Ghibli-esque music I've heard outside of Ghibli movies. It's sometimes confusing what to do next to progress, but for a long time, you sort of stumble upon progress if you just keep exploring a bit. A few quality-of-like issues aside, I liked a lot of my time with it, hence my recommendation. However, after reaching the two first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loved it initially, but then the endless running around in confusion with no progress, no hint of where to go or who to give the numerous items I've collected to, it just became irritating and ultimately rage-inducing. I don't have hours to waste revisiting areas with new 'upgrades' only to be met with yet more confusion and no progress. On top of this the map resets when quitting and coming back, so the forced re-drilling of established paths becomes a true slog. This game desperately need…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What’s not to love about feline #IndieGames? Especially one as adorable as #EverdeepAurora, a pseudo-Game Boy-styled exploration adventure starring Shell, a young child searching for her mother as the world teeters on the brink of destruction. Loved it, although it did feel rather pessimistic.

The story, the animation, the graphics and colour schemes, the soundtrack, the satisfying platforming and finding of little secrets, how the narrative is told, the mysteries, stories within the world and the exploration freedom towards the world and narrative, the progression, the character design, the art. unlabelledView post →I loved how the game looked from the start; it was cute, charming, and it looked like it had a lot of promise. Gameplay wise though, it never really expands much. There's a lack of polish, notable in the sluggish menuing for your items, upgrade dialogue still repeating despite maxing it out, and a map that constantly resets and feels insufficient. The plot wasn't something that ever grabbed onto me either, and I got tired enough of trying to re-explore and find things that I ended up dropping…

unlabelledView post →I wishlisted this game when I saw its charming artstyle and it did not disappoint. It's a unique and chill experience, where you drill around to talk to characters and piece together the world. Progressing through the story requires a ton of exploring, which is also rewarded with optional collectibles, bits of lore, and encounters with an eclectic cast of characters, making the gameplay loop feel addicting. While the game isn't part of the genre, its gameplay scratched my metroidvania itch, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →O jogo vale a pena? SIM!

Design: -- The colors in this pixel game are easy on the eyes are not overwhelming. This is important to me because I find limited color palettes confuse my eyes and I didn't run into that problem here. I also like that the colors change with the environment! This was a good choice since staring at a small palette for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its good, the stories are cute and i like the exploration, but there's not alot here for a 20 dollar game. You mostly platform around, and solve puzzles and talk to NPCs, and after a few hours the game is over. Sure theres other endings, but they're not too hard to get. Id get this on sale. (I really wish there was a neutral review option)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just a wonderfully weird game. The less you know about it the better so you can figure out the mechanics/game flow yourself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Charming and colourful exploration platformer - like if Hollow Knight had all its combat removed, and replaced with even more characters, secrets and story. Enjoying it a lot so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Everdeep Aurora release date: 7/10/25 developer: Nautilus Games publisher: Ysbryd Games Real cute 2d exploration game that nails the gbc aesthetic. There's no combat, just poke around this world and take in the vibes and cool characters. There's a meow button, It's nice!
unlabelledView post →Very beautiful game with charming character designs, but lacks any gameplay or exploration elements to keep it engaging. The platforming feels okay at best, the writing struggles to engage you in its characters or plot, and its polish is severely lacking. Had to quit after I clipped into the floor and was trapped, which fully deflated any enjoyment I was eking out of the game 'til that point. A shame, because it's a very beautiful game, with gorgeous music.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A pretty short experience. The art and music of it all are so much fun. A little bit buggy but overall a good time. I dont know that I will play it again but I had a good time going through it.
