unlabelledView post →Yay! Environmental Station Alpha has received an important update - the game has been ported to C++, fixing a whole bunch of issues and adding support to e.g. Mac, Linux & Steam Deck. Trailer link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bsv... #esagame Port by @mp2games.bsky.social

unlabelledView post →ohhhhh huge W for Environmental Station Alpha devs adding proper steam deck & Linux support years after the game came out
unlabelledView post →Hey if you are one of those Indie Game people who has spent a lot of time Thinking about The Metroidvania: Did you play Environmental Station Alpha? If you missed it there's a good opportunity to pick it up now cuz it just got a tech revamp for Mac/Steam Deck mastodon.gamedev.place/@Hempuli/113...
unlabelledView post →Ok enough for today, i had such a blast doing this. These are sprites from the following classic indie Metroidvanias: Cat Planet Treasure Adventure Game An Untitled Story Environmental Station Alpha Knytt Stories Within a deep forest Vagante La Mulana Snailiad Go play em, most are free.
unlabelledView post →Beyond Sekiro, I tried FFIX PC which ran beautifully (and the small screen really does that game huge favors in the art department), Axiom Verge, Environmental Station Alpha, Silksong, and Darkest Dungeon. All ran great. Indie PC gaming and retro emulation with ARM battery life? Yes please.
unlabelledView post →I need to go back and finish it, but I loved what I played of Environmental Station Alpha. The atmosphere is incredible, and I really enjoyed the set of power ups that it had. The best one is the grappling hook, which really lets you break the game open store.steampowered.com/app/350070/E...
unlabelledView post →ENVIRONMENTAL STATION ALPHA I'm a fan of La Mulanas, Fezi, Animal Wells as much as anyone with the proper brainworms but i feel this game gets often overlooked despite being an absolute masterpiece. Nolla games is working on a sequel, from what ive heard, so definitely give this a spin!
unlabelledView post →I’ve been playing 15-30 minutes a day of both Celeste and Environmental Station Alpha so I don’t get too frustrated and I’m consistently making progress in both kinda wild that when “game piss off” I can take a break and come back ??
unlabelledView post →It's almost time for my Environmental Station Alpha run for #WildRideRaidTrain!! First time playing this in several years but I did PB so let's see how I do www.twitch.tv/nardy20_
unlabelledView post →Let's get back to Environmental Station Alpha, I've barely scratched the surface of this game last week! www.twitch.tv/combine_kegan #Stream
unlabelledView post →should i submit an incentive for Environmental Station Alpha that randomly changes tiles slowly over the course of the game and makes it almost unintelligible
unlabelledView post →I think you're thinking of Environmental Station Alpha, which is also a great game!
unlabelledView post →Environmental Station Alpha is a really good game and I'm kind of shocked it isn't better-known. I'll make a more detailed review in my games thread later once I get more endings but for an indie metroidvania (by the same guy behind Baba Is You, no less) it's very robust
unlabelledView post →Baba Is You ($14.99) - One of the best puzzle games I have ever played. Hempuli is evil ❤️. store.steampowered.com/app/736260/B... Environmental Station Alpha ($7.99) - Great little adventure-platformer, also by Hempuli. Just got a new updated port. store.steampowered.com/app/350070/E...
unlabelledView post →Environmental Station Alpha If anything can qualify as a hidden gem, for the most part, it's this game by the Baba Is You dev. What begins as a slightly rote Metroid clone with difficult bosses slowly becomes something on the level of Tunic with cryptic puzzles and text deciphering.
unlabelledView post →A lot of that at least comes from bypassing the event system and using Lua scripting instead with a plugin but yeah Hempuli is probably the best known dev still using Clickteam software today and has made my personal favorite Clickteam software game too (Environmental Station Alpha)
unlabelledView post →Environmental Station Alpha has you run through multiple superheated rooms in order to progress. That game is generally very interesting with how it does metroidvania-isms
unlabelledView post →i need more friends that enjoy puzzle games as much as me. So far i've played: - Animal Well - La-Mulana (Haven't finished) - TUNIC - FEZ (Haven't finished) - Outer Wilds (Barely Touched) - Antichamber - Void Stranger I think the only game I've yet to play is Environmental Station Alpha.
unlabelledView post →As for games -- I beat a few last month, but want to give a shoutout to: - UFO 50 - Environmental Station Alpha - Starstruck: The Hands of Time
unlabelledView post →Environmental Station Alpha is on sale on Steam The music in this game is soooo good. Fantastic sense of atmosphere. My only grumble is the grapple physics are a bit overly energetic :D steamcommunity.com/app/350070
unlabelledView post →Just did the basic ending for Environmental Station Alpha. This game fucking hard. I might just not do the extremely extensive post game stuff. That's a lot.
unlabelledView post →ok so first up is Environmental Station Alpha. I dig the vibe. Cool Art, nice atmosphere. The game has some of THE MOST infuriating boss fights I have ever run across. It got so bad in the post game that I just straight up gave up on ever 100% it. I wish I liked it more.
unlabelledView post →Was excited to see anyone run or even mention Environmental Station: Alpha. Such an amazing game!
unlabelledView post →Shortly after that Cave Story lyrical walkthrough was released, I wondered which other game deserved the treatment. Environmental Station Alpha could use a walkthrough concept album but I would opt for astral country over hip hop so maybe Honey Harper could do the job
unlabelledView post →Environmental Station Alpha is a metroidvania-style game in which you are sent to explore a derelict space biodome and determine what happened to its inhabitants. It's fairly difficult, but mastering its nuanced controls feels great. The postgame feels La Mulana-esque with its puzzles.
unlabelledView post →Environmental Station Alpha Very solid metroidvania for $8 (currently on sale for like $3!). It has some fun and challenging bosses, but the main selling point is probably the multiple layers of deep puzzles and secrets you can find in the post game. Def worth a peep
unlabelledView post →I also experience game backlog dread and I’m just now getting through Environmental Station Alpha and NitW, with a full intent to play Shadow Tower again like you recommended; so I don’t mean to pressure you :> …but if you do, make sure you play the ps1 version. it’s ideal, and you’ll love the art
unlabelledView post →👍 Yeah I enjoyed everything past Super Metroid but I never particularly felt the Fear and Pressure I had in a metroidvania since that game. I think the one game where this happened to me was Environmental Station Alpha but like nobody played that.
unlabelledView post →Environmental Station Alpha (2015): Noita is my favorite game of all time, so I had to see what else the devs made. Saw this game, picked it up, and loved it. A lovely metroid-like experience with secrets that go WAY deeper than most games. I mean, I had to translate an alien language, like dang!
unlabelledView post →Video game comfy place #10 The Jungle sector save/teleporter room in Environmental Station Alpha I could live there
unlabelledView post →If no one has said it yet: Environmental Station Alpha. This game has lived rent free in my head for so long. It's truly one of THE BEST Metroidvanias. Totally worth every penny.
unlabelledView post →So because Mastodon instances tend not to support fulltext search by default, I guess hashtags (which *are* searchable) are that much more important? I.e. every time you mention a game, like #Dysmantle or #MedievalDynasty or #EnvironmentalStationAlpha or #MadeInDreams, you should hashtag it to promote findability and discoverability, as a kind of etiquette...

unlabelledView post →Environmental Station Alpha What a wonderfully crafted puzzle box of a game. Learning that the developer went on to work on Noita came at absolutely zero surprise. If you're into headscratcher kinds of games with a ton of secrets the more stones you turn over, this one's for you.
unlabelledView post →I was going through some game soundtracks I own on steam and re-discovered the Environmental Station Alpha music. Sigil Summoning was the standout track for me. It's eerie and contemplative, and I adore that deep, billowing, flute-y sounding instrument that comes in youtu.be/qS2xBleibSc?...
unlabelledView post →Took a while to finish game 3 because of the shift change at work, but I got two endings of Environmental Station Alpha down back to back. Search and rescue robot becomes several different gods.
unlabelledView post →Having a blast replaying Environmental Station Alpha, it's been like 10 years and there are achievements now, so it's even more fun. Not an easy game at all, but fun. Maybe i'll dabble in postgame this time.
unlabelledView post →LIVE!! beuchi.stream Going back to Environmental Station Alpha! We beat the game but... we're in a secret place... oooooooooo
unlabelledView post →According to gamelytics.com Rain World: 12M Crystal Project: 663k Environmental Station Alpha: 285k Depending on if you take into account every game or only actual earners, Environmental Station Alpha might not be in the top 10%, though it was 2015... Cutting close. Thank you for sharing this!
unlabelledView post →Animal Well (2024) really pleasing puzzle box of a game, reminded of a less combat-focused Environmental Station Alpha. big surprises in the map, your inventory, how things interact with the world, and new things being layered on the old. maybe not doing ARG-tier rabbit hunt but the rest is great.
unlabelledView post →So I said Inscryption this week. But, there's a friend, see... so now its next week! Instead, we're playing a *different* game with apparently secrets to it. Drop by and watch me explore Environmental Station Alpha, on Twitch! www.twitch.tv/kealldin
unlabelledView post →There's some other games like Environmental Station Alpha and La-Mulana that also lead into the sorts of games I find interesting. These are also two difficult games and LM is especially one that's difficult to recommend. Kinda like Void Stranger but I found VS better. Still a very difficult game.
