Watching Eddington (2025). This scene made me laugh:
Ari Aster’s 2025 film Eddington—though not as cinematically breathtaking as One Battle After Another—explored polarisation in America more sharply, imho. In it, @AriAster even spotlit emerging drivers of polarisation, like data centres, that are only becoming more relevant. 1/2
The speed with which American voters are turning against data centers is breathtaking. One comparison might be what happened to nuclear after the double-whammy of "The China Syndrome" coming out days before Three Mile Island, except there's no equivalent in terms of Hollywood
