Dreadhalls
Developer White Door Games
You are trapped deep inside a massive dungeon. Explore it, survive it and find a way to escape. Your only weapons will be stealth, your own courage, and a faint light. Dreadhalls is an intense and scary experience, not for the faint of heart. You have been warned! From the Steam store page

I've just finished watching The Haunting Of Hill House - a great show, and yet nothing in that entire series compares to the sense of real panic and fear I get from this game. The screenshots and videos do not even remotely convey the pure freak-out anxiety of playing this game in VR. If you want to scare yourself witless, and you have a VR headset (and given how cheap this game is, even when not on sale), grab it immediately.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is unplayable because it's %#@&ing terrifying
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →sure i only have 18 minutes on it but ♥♥♥♥ that. i almost had a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard attack XD

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Made me feel sick, which is rare. Lots of the same hallways, a bit of a maze which is cool - but other than that it seemed like wondering around, going into a few empty rooms, shaking a lock and avoiding some silly AI. Stealth is cool but it was very bare bones and had a few glitches for me too.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the only video game that has ever made me genuinely scared to the point of not wanting to play it. It literally took me 8 months to beat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is basically Amnesia: the Dark Descent VR without the puzzles. It is obviously way more scary because of the immersion, but a bit less visually impressive, especially when it comes to lighting and shadows. The balance between atmosphere and jumpscares is maintained well and the gameplay is very intuitive. Main campaign has very good difficulty curve: monster encounters gradually become more frequent and intense. Having some roguelite mechanics - procedurally generated levels and no…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still one of the best psychological horror games in VR. If you enjoy amnesia, outlast, penumbra (there is a mod to play overture in VR) and the like in flatscreen. Then you have to play this in VR it's just as intense and with the added pressure of VR it makes it horrifying. Gameplay: strong language due to being ♥♥♥♥ scared. https://youtu.be/O-FRz5OpJUY
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game made me run into a wall in real life. 10/10 The amount of content you get for the price is simply amazing. It brings back the Amnesia: The dark descent vibes. Dreadhalls is a very good VR horror/adventure game which I highly recommend if you have a VR headset.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This isn't just one of the scariest games I've ever played, this IS the scariest game I've ever played, and I intended to complete this game but I'm really not sure if I can do that lmao. Basically, buy the game if you like horror games but don't play it alone at 2 AM.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game and Phasmophobia are the 2 scariest VR games I've played so far. Definitely worth the money. It has 2 modes, story line, and free play. Both are fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Using the PS VR2 this game is beautiful
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoy browsing lists of VR games. Never know when you find a gem you've overlooked or forgotten. From this article it is Dreadhalls on Steam. Owned but unplayed. #vr #pcvr www.xda-developers.com/best-vr-game...
unlabelledView post →Truly a great Horror Experience, it doesn't base it self off cheap jumpscares, it truly doesn't even have jumpscares. It's all based on you trying to get through this dungeon like maze and move on to the next. The monsters in the game are very well designed and can provide a challenge, it reminds me a bit of the classic amnesia game, especially with the lantern and the dungeon itself. Don't buy the game if you don't wanna feel fear, this game is designed to put fear into you. Every corner…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got both achievements! 1: Finished the game 2: Soiled my pants. 100% Victory!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is Just your basic VR Maze game. You Have to find the eye balls to place on the stones to then progress forward. Not spooky to me at all just your basic occasional creature or spirit coming after you to intercept with your goal. You don't even have to trigger all the other special effects or stories just get the eyes and move on. when using the coins to ask the heads on the wall questions it is not required to complete the game but just to tell the story which to me was meaningless.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very scary, I didn't even last 5 minutes.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me - 1/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm a huge fan of everything horror. It takes a lot to scare me, and even at that I can still rationalize what's going on. This is definitely the best entertainment, most terrifying horror experience I've ever had. The sound design is amazing. It positions sounds in ways that make you feel that tingle up your spine as if someone was standing right behind you. It takes it from an okay tv sound game to an absolutely terrifying, piss your pants headphones/ earbuds memorable experience. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This games way too intense. I've watched a million horror movies and played lots of "horror' games. Been to horror theme parks etc, never really got scared. You know this is just a game. First 5 minutes are "ok this is not bad". First entity you're questioning reality. Anything after that you dont wan't to move any further. My Wife was literally shaking with fear and screamed like she was beaten to death at 2AM. No police showed up at least. I invited my mom over, she's in her 60's, she…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Actually kind of tense at times. Really makes you feel like you're there in VR! Randomly generated maps as well! Would love to see a Multiplayer option to have fun with a friend or two.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played it once and am too scared to open it again
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Erm, pretty friggin sweet actually
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was fine until I seen that giant thing come lumbering out of the dark. Freaked me out several times. Very cool game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super scary looks great on my rift s runs super smooth
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played 1 hour so far and shat myself multiple times. I never skip leg day but this game got my legs weaker then 2 spaghetti noodles. Went in a room to hide and was greeted by a dark slender figure giving me a death hug. Definitely worth its price!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game acts on some primal fear I'm not used to feeling. It's so simple yet so ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the best horror i have played so far on VR. Nice graphics, scary and you can die! Stuff like this would've been even cooler with a co-op mode so then someone can hold my hand.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love me some horror games. I can't get enough of them. I can't say they scare me too often though. Having the screen of separation really took away from the scare factor. If I were judging this game based on screen shots alone, I wouldn't have bothered. If this were a flat screen game, it wouldn't do much for me. It'd feel like a cheap Amnesia knock-off. But this game is legit scary. It really deserves the praise it's getting, and I think a lot of it has to do with the immersion VR offers.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A Great introduction to VR horror, at a nice price too! I even managed to finish this game in 1.9 hours due to how scared i was playing it. (Meaning I could refund it if I truly wanted) Id recommend this game personally if you want to jump straight into hell for the first time in VR. Even features a sort of roguelike mode where the map and enemy placement is randomly generated!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely one of the most terrifying experiences I have ever had in a video game. It's like Amnesia: The Dark Descent in VR. If you enjoy horror, and have VR, this is an absolute must have.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've had Dreadhalls since I first got a VR headset, but only just recently finished it. It's legitimately the only good VR horror game I've ever played, especially since it sets the bar high. It admittedly feels a little low-budget here and there, using the same ambient music loop throughout the entire game and a few sound effects that cut abruptly, letting you know they got them off of a royalty free site at the end credits. If you end up getting it, play with a controller, as the Vive wands…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →8/10 great horror game. perfect for social events. not a perfect ten because graphics could be better, and the game lacks a good narrative.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had wanted to play this when I had a PSVR1, but never got the chance before I sold that system and upgraded to PSVR2, which doesn't have Dreadhalls available. Overall, I enjoyed Dreadhalls. I recognize that at this point, it is dated, and my enjoyment isn't what it would have been 5 or 6 years ago after playing so many other VR games, but had I played this back then, it would have been a top experience for me. But even having played a large number more modern VR games since it was released,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a good spooky time, certainly worth the ten bucks or so
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really want to love this game but continuous movement is the only movement option so it is guaranteed nausea for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is so good at scaring me that i don't want to play it anymore. thumbs up!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun randomly generated horror experience that has it's own unique VR feel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →like amnesia but scarier

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was looking for genuine scares and this classic holds up like the motionless gargoyle that is definitely not something to worry about or have nightmares over
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Call me a ♥♥♥♥♥ but I can't do it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the most scary VR games I’ve ever played so far. The depth of the darkness is so unnerving and the corners and corridors make you mad. Would recommend for those who can handle that.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →played this stoned i got 2/4 of the altar thingys and nothing scary is rly happening besides shadow monsters and lady standing still i cant look at, nothing that follows me and chases me. Which should happen
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is not at all frightening, and is in fact repetitive and annoying, with enemies that seem to break the rules of the game (The floating sphere thing saw me moving around a corner) or made to annoy you (the really large canine looking thing seems to appear whenever I am in a corner, about to leave the room, leaving me no option to avoid death). Overall, my suggestion is to play it for an hour and refund it like I did (trust me, it took me much less than the 75 minutes I have to realise…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's got FromSoftware PS1 feels.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a bad first impression, but the graphics and art just aren't good enough to be that scary.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very well made horror game. Great for the low price, and loaded with scares.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i am actually refunding this because its too scary now keep in mind i like horror games iv played a few like outlast and had alot of fun but holy this is terrifying mainly cause the immersion is so much higher in vr i think it is worth a buy if you like horror games like me but i legit had a point where i was having panic attacks because of this game and would have to take breaks it may just be me and that i cant handle vr horror because i look at the game and think on a desktop setting its not…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well yes, i am one of those that gets EXTREMELY motion sick. I went to options and selected snap turning but that didn't seem to do a thing, it seems like it only works with vive controllers. Am i doing something wrong? the only way this game allows itself to be played is with regular barf inducing turning and that sucks, i could literally not play it for more than 5 minutes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I haven't seen any other review say this, but this game is basically Amnesia: The Dark Descent in Vr. Same type of horror Amnesia gives off. Has the same type of game play, other than the sanity meter is not present. This game is definitely worth getting for $10. About 2 hrs of game play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's the scariest made for VR game and is a must buy. It's great to put people in a random map and watch them suffer. I've played it on gear vr, rift, and vive. Here I am playing on vive: https://youtu.be/R7ihuVihGqU
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want to get scared and ♥♥♥♥ your pants, Get this. If you don't want to get scared, Get this.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →What a perfectly named game… the sense of dread is constant and overwhelming. Why do I love horror VR games? No idea, but I do, and this one delivers. I’ve played for an hour so far, and am loving what I’m seeing so far. Classic survival horror elements: Lantern that’s always running low on fuel, exploring twisting maze-like corridors, trying to piece together the story of what’s going on, and hiding from the monsters. Very polished and well executed, thumbs: UP!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Helllllaaaaa scary!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS is the suspense/horror game you've been looking for!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun short vr game, even tho i only got startled like once by the first granny encounter i still had tons of fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dreadhalls is a well-aged horror game that I’ve only spent a couple of hours in, but I plan to continue at some point. Playing in VR is a hell of an experience- possibly one of the best VR horror games, but I imagine desktop mode is enjoyable as well, though I haven’t tried it. The game features a variety of monsters and environments, and the ambience and sound design constantly keep you on edge. I’m always at the edge of my seat, peeking around corners and checking every room to make sure no…
