I generally had fun with this game, but unfortunately I also ran into that game-breaking bug that straight up stops you from progressing in the story. It's especially sad that the devs have said they're not putting any more investment into this game, yet it's still listed on Steam and still generating revenue for them. Would've loved to see more, but starting the whole game over from scratch just isn't an option right now.

There's a bug about an hour into playing that prevents you from progressing anymore, therefore the game is impossible to finish.

A hilarious, charming, and chaotic point-and-click adventure with gorgeous hand-drawn visuals. Rufus is an unforgettable, egotistical mess, and the puzzles are creative, fitting the unique junk-planet setting. If you love classic adventure games and quirky humor, this is a must-play. A trash-tastic masterpiece! 9/10.

As a point-and-click puzzle game, Deponias difficulty is way too high. Its almst impossible to not get stuck without lookin up a walkthru, and lots of the puzzles r so outta the box that u cant posibly figure em out. The mc Rufus is trashy written, hes selfish and greedy. Its hard not to hate him. The art style is rly solid, it mayb be more successful if it was turned into an animation.

Why you should or should not play Deponia What is Deponia? Deponia is a point and click puzzle game where you play as Rufus who's just trying to get out of all this junk! Quick Pros ✔ Interesting story ✔ Memorable characters ✔ Good world building ✔ Well written dialogue ✔ Satisfying progression system ✔ Unique mechanics ✔ Easy to learn controls Quick Cons ✘ Sometimes there is no clear direction on what to do, however this is a puzzle game and that is its purpose is to make you…

Deponia is a delightfully scrappy trash‑heap adventure starring a protagonist who probably shouldn’t be trusted with anything sharper than a crayon, yet somehow ends up steering the whole plot anyway. The humor hits more often than it misses, the world is charmingly chaotic and the puzzles feel like they were brainstormed during a caffeine‑fueled office meltdown. Still, there’s something oddly lovable about rummaging through this junkyard of jokes, junk and joyful nonsense. [7.5/10]

Daedalic Entertainment. If you are going to claim it's "ridiculous" to expect an old game to have bug fixes, then you should tell that fact to anyone who might consider buying your broken trash. You won't so I will. This game is broken. Do not buy it.

This game is a good example why the quest genre died. It looks ok at first - cartoonish graphics, backrgound music, voiceover, but the puzzle logic is made for imbeciles. 1. You need a pair of matching socks. You have 3 of them - blue, yellow and green ones, plus the bottle with detergent What should you do? Of course try to cross-color. For example, blue+green socks will make two turquoise ones. Most obvious, mix yellow and blue socks together and make two green ones, right? No. You need to…

Deponia: The Complete Saga PROS: puzzle design, art, some real laughs in games 1-2. CONS: story builds toward nothing, "bittersweet" ending is just bitter, sequel exists to retcon the ending and fails to, beyond bad writing in the later games. About characters, the writing wants Rufus to be a compelling anti-hero but mostly just writes him as an irredeemable ass with zero narrative accountability, other characters suffer for his choices constantly, the game rarely makes him pay for it. Then…

If you enjoy classic point and click adventures like King’s Quest, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy Deponia. The game presents a beautifully crafted world full of personality, a fun and quirky story, and a wide range of puzzles that keep things interesting throughout. One feature I really appreciated is the ability to highlight every interaction point on the screen, which means you don’t have to endlessly sweep the mouse around hoping to find something clickable. A decent point and click game with very hit or miss humor. If you care about getting all the achievements, this game has one where you have to replay the entire game in gibberish aka "Droggeljug" mode (or download the savefile from right at the end of the game from the developers website). Linux version of the game works without any issues.

Quirky. Challenging. Niche. Deponia is a classic point-and-click adventure, but it's definitely not for everyone. If you mostly enjoy fast-paced action games, shooters, or cinematic story games, this probably won't keep your attention. The gameplay is slow and revolves around exploration, dialogue, and puzzle solving. The comic-style art looks good, and the story is actually quite good. It was the main reason I kept playing. However, the game is genuinely difficult. It gives almost no clues…

TL;DR – funny, frustrating, but in a good way I really enjoyed Deponia, mostly because of how dumb (in a lovable way) Rufus is and how ridiculous the whole junk-planet setting is. A lot of the fun comes from just clicking on everything and reading the dialogue, because the game keeps throwing jokes at you even when you’re just trying to combine trash with more trash. The point-and-click puzzles can get pretty weird sometimes, and yeah, I definitely had a few “how was I supposed to think of…

Received this for one of Steam’s promotions. I really wanted to like the game but I just don’t. Full disclosure, I did not finish the game. I can’t bring myself to finish it. I found Rufus, the main character, to be irredeemable and painfully unfunny. And the rest of the characters behaved much in the same way— pompous, antagonistic, and unfunny. The game assumes that you’re going to cheer for the characters and want to progress the story, but I just did not feel compelled to attach myself to…

Droggeljug tl;dr Some of the worst moon logic in P&C games with beautiful art and voice over. Get this game if it's 60% off or more and you don't mind the frustration (or playing with a guide open). I bought the game for a dollar and for that price spent a mostly enjoyable 10 hours with it thanks to liberal use of a walkthrough. Pros Beautiful art, nice animations, and great VO. The world and story are engaging. All the characters (except the protagonist, see below) are well written and fun,…

We can talk about this game being a bit charmless and not very funny and all that, but I want to focus on one particular thing: when I hear a voice-actor read a line with the inflection in the wrong place I just *know* that the actor wasn't given the full context for the line read. It's not their fault, it's a lack of direction for the actors and it makes the work feel amateurish and awkward and it's easily remedied and it drives me absolutely nuts. In all fairness, Deponia has decent…

Deponia was my first game in the "point-and-click" genre, and it literally hooked me from the very first minutes. The story turned out to be engaging and at times even touching - closer to the finale I even felt a slight sadness because of some plot twists. The humor deserves special attention: it is absurd, lively, and truly memorable. Many characters look like “walking memes” with their own unique traits, and this is what largely shapes the game’s distinctive style. And of course, Rufus - a…

Got stuck at the detonation plan, apparently that's a known bug since release. I have no other save so the only solutions would be to either restart the game or download a premade save from the devs' website. Unfortunately the game is not interesting enough: while the drawings are gorgeous the uninteresting plot, combined with an unlikable protagonist and an excessive amount of "jokes", won't pay that effort.

Fun but ran into bug with the magnet board, this completely locks up game progression. Daedalic offers a save game download but I can't be bothered at this point. Hopefully the next game in the series is still working. Honestly why push this game out for free with such a huge bug? Just take it offline. Terrible first impression.

Deponia is a point and click adventure game. Our egotistical protagonist lives on a junkheap planet and is desperate to escape to Elysium; a utopian city that hovers in the sky. Interesting that some of the concepts in the Elysium film (2013) are very similar to this game. Deponia is a typical game of its genre. It carries the tradition well and even attempts to improve on the genre by adding cinematic action sequences (ok there was one). Puzzles are logical and well crafted. Attention to…
