Deck the Halls
Determined to unseat Steve Finch's reign as the town's holiday season king, Buddy Hall plasters his house with so many decorative lights that it'll be visible from space! When their wives bond, and their kids follow suit, the two men only escalate their rivalry - and their decorating. From TMDB

It's not original, and the lighting's dim, but pretty funny, with enough slapstick for John Hughes to approve.
unlabelledView post →New Projector Short! Lee Mack and Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland have to defend their neighbourhood from thieves in the TV movie Bad Tidings (airing 7.30pm tonight, Sky Max), an abashed Home Alone meets Deck the Halls riff, that's fun... but they should have turned the lights on.

Hallmark's best movie, maybe ever, ROUND AND ROUND, finally streaming on Hallmark+ Along with THREE WISER MEN AND A BOY's extended cut, HAPPY HOWLIDAYS, DECK THE HALLS ON CHERRY LANE, penultimate episode of HOLIDAZED and a Polaha-hosted A BILTMORE CHRISTMAS

unlabelledView post →I was so excited about this particular movie I'm working on and it fucking OPENS with Deck the Halls. I have to count, and perfectly time, all the "la, la, la" bullshit. Yep, I count 'em. Accurate as fuck.

unlabelledView post →Hearing a movie play the song "Deck the Halls" from the floor below, and I mishear the lyric as "Tis the season to be sorry," and it feels like a new yuletide threat has been unlocked.
unlabelledView post →The reason why you hear Jingle Bells in every fucking Christmas movie is because it entered public domain ages ago. Royalty-free, baby. Same with Deck the Halls and O Christmas Tree. If I never caption Jingle Bells again, it will be too soon.
unlabelledView post →Every holiday season, I watch a critically maligned Christmas movie in hopes to say "You know what? that wasn't so bad!" So far I am 0-4 with One Magic Christmas, Four Christmases, Last Christmas and Santa Claus: the Movie Will Deck The Halls (a whopping 6% on Rotten Tomatoes) turn the tide?
unlabelledView post →Hooray, now we're into a proper Hallmark film: "Deck The Halls", about a high-flying woman from the city who visits her hometown for some reason. I thought I spotted the guy who she would inevitably fall in love with, but that apparently is her brother. That would have turned this movie on its head.
unlabelledView post →Christmas Movie #12: Deck The Halls. The wife and I watched this in our first Advent Calendar year, back in 2017, but we never finished it after not liking it. We gave it another chance and yeah, I now know why we didn't like it. Good lord, this is awful... boxd.it/c1tQ9H

unlabelledView post →My elderly mother loves them. I've tried to watch them w her. Can't do it. They're awful. It's why I can't sit thru "Deck The Halls." It's basically a Hallmark Christmas movie w big name/ high dollar actors. It is one of the all-around worst movies ever, never mind Christmas movies.

unlabelledView post →You forget watching Deck the Halls and chasing it with the HDTGM episode with tales of Broderick saying this is the lowest it’ll get. My late aunt went to see it and told me the people who made that movie should go to prison.

unlabelledView post →Just watched Deck the Halls (2006), probably the worst xmas movie I've seen. Characters that don't act like real people, lazy old homophobic jokes, super fucking inappropriate sexualization of the teenage girl characters, it's quite bad

unlabelledView post →Really enjoyed the #DeckTheHalls episode. The key is to be watching the #movie while listening, so you can be reminded of just how ridiculous it really is. But the dynamic from them had me baked on the couch, at 2am, laughing my ass off, at an awful movie with a ridiculous plot. #HowDidThisGetMade

unlabelledView post →Deck the Halls (2006) This movie is really stupid. They don't make comedies like this anymore, and I can see why. Most of the jokes don't land, and some haven't aged well, but I had a good time watching it because it was entertainingly bad and had Danny DeVito in it.
unlabelledView post →Well, he was in a movie called "Deck the Halls."
unlabelledView post →Are you the neighbor in that Deck the Halls movie? 😄
unlabelledView post →Freezing cold, 17-year old movie take: Deck the Halls with DeVito and Broderick is way better than the reputation it has. I legitimately belly laughed three or four times just now watching it.
