positive · AI labelView post →Review of the Deaf President Now film by Apple+ - about a 1988 student led campaign to have a Deaf signing person heading a Deaf university. As ever, marginalised people and the cross-solidarity with other campaign groups is missed, despite probably being a key factor in the campaign's success.

I'd like to see the Deaf President Now film and the @marleematlin.bsky.social documentary, but I cannot spend $70 on two films. I'm pretty sure that's out of the budget for a LOT of deaf people.

Teenage Wasteland also isn't in streaming, but it's a doc about students investigating illegal waste dumping. Both are excellent docs, worth your time.
