And I don't mean just the overall grindy nature of the game, but rather specific issues, which could have been easily made right. A (not quite) few examples: 1) Inventory management. Maxed out inventory is 40 items. And that includes both ingredient/resource stacks (up to 30) AND single inventory items (gear drops). Going through a dungeon fills you up with 4 types of resources (which you generally need in…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me start by saying that it is not a terrible game. However, especially at the asking price of €24.99, there is no way I can recommend it. So, what’s wrong with it? The game is extremely repetitive and lacks depth. What you see in the first hour is what you get for the next 20–30 hours. The cooking part is extremely simple. People come in, order things based on what you can make with the ingredients you have, and once they pick a dish, all you have to do is press one button to cook it (and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The bones of a good game are here but the balancing, quality of life and progression mechanics are just... missing. Almost like the developers were told to ship, ready or not, and never came back to tweak the small things that would make this game fun. Example: Every single "quest" is to turn in a stack of resources, and get a new recipe in return. You need the actual resources in your inventory (can't pull from your home storage). So - to turn in the quest, you need to talk to the quest…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i think every "cozy game" review should seek to answer the question: is this game still playable when you're cross faded and decide you're going to play that game you haven't touched in months? Cuisineer passes with flying colors. i still have a lot more content to unlock though ~
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While this game is kinda cute, it's also really bad, with plenty of bad design choices. - The gameplay is okay-ish during the first few hours, then gets annoyingly repetitive. - The dungeons are meh and the fighting system is quite bad, the same monsters are everywhere and the boss fights are tedious. - The 'main' quest of the game is just ... give money to a NPC, once, twice, once again, and yet another time. Every single side quest is a glorified 'fetch' with bland, boring text. Also some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →awesome little game whose objective is to explore dungeons to collect ingredients to later cook and sell in your medieval restaurant. its really good and addictive, although it gets repetitive over time bc the cycle of going after ingredients and making new special dishes goes on day after day with not that much variation. still the idea behind the game is really good and the gameplay is satisfying and casual, plus the graphics are super cute and colorful :3

As a close friend of the dev team, I'm so proud of all their hard work. unlabelledView post →The NPCs are bland and barely have any dialogue. The town doesn't feel alive at all. The gameplay is grindy and repetitive.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is #WhatAGameDevLooksLike on the occasions I get to do game audio. I've scored three indies, played sax for Cuisineer, sang for Wizard with a Gun others, and written songs for Fallout 4: Nuka-World and some more. Games work is sporadic but I love it 💖
unlabelledView post →I have conflicting opinions on Cuisineer. Initially the gameplay loop is short, sweet, and addictive. Combining action roguelite elements with a rudimentary cooking/serving minigame that never veers into overly complex or demanding. The goal here is for it to be a cozy, engrossing experience, a vibe, than it is looking to be complex. The visual art is very appealing. Lots of different kinds of recipes to collect each with highly detailed art to accompany the dish. If you like a bit of highly…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: - Decent rougelite elements that are much more complex than I had assumed they would be - Rearranging the restaurant decor is kind of fun Cons: - Cooking portions feel somewhat frantic while, at the same time, being fairly uninvolved - Fetch quests can feel very repetitive and the rewards for completing them do not feel all that rewarding after a little while Verdict: Honestly, I do not have a whole lot to say about this one. It checked some of the boxes I look for in this type of game,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My loving husband purchase this game for me. I thought it looked a bit childish in the beginning but it is an amazing game. I love the game play and the art style. The cuteness grew on me after I really got into it. I thought because it was cute, I assume that the game would be easy but no, it was just as challenging, fun, and immersive. It helped me to relieve my stress and just enjoy my time learning and playing the game. I played the game for over 100 hours, lol. I am very happy that they…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personal Rating: 6.5/10 ✅Pros: ❌Cons: * Combat is simple and fast-paced. There are enough weapon elements/modifiers to test and have fun with different builds. * Controls are very good and responsive. * A very charming artstyle and visuals. The graphics are colorful and vibrant and each area has a unique feel. * A great soundtrack that goes along with the game's ambiance. * Plenty to do and (main/side-)quests don't have a time limit to needlessly pressure you. * During combat the…

unlabelledView post →I still have not played the game Cuisineer, but I really should if just because of this one scene. Alder being too tall and having to duck down to fit in your UI is so cute and extremely Grieves-coded.
unlabelledView post →Very cute but lacks depth and mechanics, the gameplay loop is repetitive and gets boring quickly. The art is so adorable, really a pity the townspeople dont have more personality
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is really cute and the loop is fun enough at first, but it feels like it never progresses into anything that's actually engaging. I got to a point where I was doing dull dungeon runs just to upgrade one bit of my kitchen at a time and the dungeons just aren't fun enough to justify it. When I'm at a point where I'm thinking "I should force myself to finish it", it's probably a bad sign.

unlabelledView post →This was a hard one to rate, but ultimately, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless it's on sale AND you have a lot of spare time on your hands. The game starts off very simple with a good introduction and feel for your progression, but spirals instantly into what seems like endless fetch quests and bland dialogue from NPC's. The gameplay loop is to run your restaurant with food you cook using ingredients you scavenged. There's nothing else. The dungeons you run through are the exact same…

unlabelledView post →It was fun at first but, I'm 50/50 backpack is god awfully small and it fills up in 2 seconds, I still haven't beaten the boss of the first world because I leave dungeon early with bag full, needs more QoL, Combat's a bit annoying it quickly becomes hard to distinguish what are your skills effects and enemy especially the poison effect that just covers the area with green and I can't see a thing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This really is a hidden gem. Not only to get the cozy part of running a restaurant but i get the dungeon crawl? I fight for the food i serve! This is such a cool twist on the genre. And now you can even change Poms look. This is a 10/10 for me honestly. Its a game I come back to again and again and still enjoy it every play through.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is unfortunately undercooked. There's no interesting mechanics to any of it. Sometimes it gets busy in the restaurant, and you are too distracted left clicking ovens to realize how boring it is, but there's like nothing to do in this game. No advanced crafting trees, no meaningful decorating, no depth to the combat. It's all just leftclicking till you win. No thought needed, no creativity allowed. My friend made it further in and assures me it doesn't get any better.

unlabelledView post →The game is very cute and aesthetically pleasing; I like the overall vibe of the game. Although having said that, there are several issues with the game where it's difficult to recommend it. The restaurant and cooking part of the game: It's very barebones and repetitive. The main draw of the game is the casual cooking theme yet it lacks any sort of depth and variety to keep it engaging. All you do is go to the respective cooking station and press a button to cook the ordered dish immediately…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun, cozy game. No real pressure to pay your parents debt which allows you to just chill and do whatever you want. If you put this game down for multiple months then come back to it for a quick session, you won't feel lost wondering what you're supposed to do then quit feeling annoyed. It super adorable, pretty easy (even for me who's straight up horrible with any video games and if you want a challenge you can up the difficulty) The main (and only reason really) i'm not recommending…

unlabelledView post →Cute game similar to games like Dungioneer or Reccetter. Except it's a diner instead of a store. Two complaints though 1. Seasonal events are pointless since you pretty much just spend the day cooking anyways. 2. It would be nice if there was more to do in town. For now it's either open the resturant or farm mats. Meanwhile all town has is refill pots and upgrade one piece of equipment at a time or upgrade kitchen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First of all, thanks to the devs for not giving up on the game and for releasing a nice little patch! The first time I tried it, I stopped playing after just 5 hours. But now, the new features actually make me want to jump back in. It's just a shame that it took 2 years to do it. As for the game itself... I'm really torn. On one hand, I kinda like it. But on the other, there are so many little things that gradually make me lose the fun a have from this game. Cuisineer is a GOOD GAME, but it…

unlabelledView post →I’ve put in over 40 hours into Cuisineer, hoping it would grow on me, but I can confidently say it’s not that great. The restaurant gameplay is extremely limited — it’s basically just clicking to serve what’s requested, with no real choice or creativity in what you make. That aspect gets repetitive fast. The dungeon crawling, unfortunately, isn’t much better. The damage scaling is way too high, making combat feel almost impossible at times. It’s clunky, unbalanced, and more frustrating than…

unlabelledView post →Just shy of a reccommend. I love just about every aspect of this game but the combat so clunky. Which is NOT what you want with a game that makes you grind.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Horrible gameplay loop, even at the easiest difficulty. The only saving grace is the cute art style and visual assets. Such a shame since I want to support my fellow SEA game devs but final product just feels underwhelming for the amount of time I've spent on it, hoping it would get better but left more and more frustrated with it's game design choices. Tedious =/= Cozy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: 5/10 A cute game where you serve food. The gameplay loop gets repetitive quickly. (As in not discovering anything new) w/ combat mixed in. (This is NOT a roguelike in any shape or form) What I like: Anime art style. Nothing to write home about though. Serving customers quickly/efficiently. The boss battles (a little)(The combat is basically two attack buttons and a dodge w/ some slots used for healing) The first boss you come across is a chicken. It has a lot more than two move sets…

unlabelledView post →Great game but I think it has a lot of unused potential. First of all there could be way more furniture and clothes for Pom. Further more I would love to see new dungeons (maybe special dungeons for each season with special ingredients). Also the options you have when it comes to arranging your restaurant could also be a bit variable, I personally don't like that the cooking area has to be at the top. I would like it more to create my own style, like putting the cooking area in the middle of…
