He treats not knowing about world events like they’re an episode of CSI he missed.

neutral · AI labelView post →So I decided to change my name entirely because Madeline Briggs is a character on the CSI tv show with a very unfortunate arc, and I thought I'd go into academia so now i share a last name, first initial with my *extremely widely published* father-in-law
neutral · AI labelView post →CSI bullshit show: "We sent the sample for DNA sequencing. We should have the results in a few minutes." Also, to every CSI producer everywhere: PLEASE TURN ON THE LIGHTS.
negative · AI labelView post →'negligent homicide because your remote drivers are working 30 cars at once and can't sleep' is an incredibly Leverage-coded story. Also given we don't have an active CSI series right now, I'm giving i maybe a year before 9-11 or some flavour of NCIS does this.
neutral · AI labelView post →Jack Klugman was in a TV series called Quincy ME, a 70s CSI if you will, and I vividly recall an episode where he's uncovering a corporate scandal and references that the country had just come through a major crisis and survived because it showed that absolutely no one was above the law. Imagine...

neutral · AI labelView post →I wrote a book about this (no, really). Can we really fix the legal system by eliminating "technicalities"? In a word, no. Here's why. Let's start by defining "technicalities." You probably first saw it on a copaganda show like Law and Order or CSI. 2/
neutral · AI labelView post →Also the only good use of “won’t get fooled again” in a tv show and i include any CSI franchise

"Here's a guy who's kind of like Boba Fett and a puppet that's kind of like Yoda. You remember, from 50 years ago? They're a TV show now, like Green Acres and CSI: Miami."

neutral · AI labelView post →I don’t like a lot about the old CSI TV show. However, there‘s a line from season one that I not only quote to this day, but is part of my life philosophy: “I’m wrong all the time. It’s how I eventually get to right.”
neutral · AI labelView post →Growing up as a kid and watching CSI on TV was a very weird, fun, and infuriating thing for me. Mostly because I was born and raised in Las Vegas and every single shot of "Las Vegas" in that show was so very clearly NOT Las Vegas that it made my little neurodivergent brain fussy as all get out.

neutral · AI labelView post →Don't know if anyone's noticed this, but it's something I call the "Bruckheimer Rule"- in any Bruckheimer produced detective show, CSI, Lucifer, all that sort, the culprit is always the second person interviewed, or if the first person questioned has an assistant, it's the assistant.

neutral · AI labelView post →Because of what's termed the "CSI effect" (I hate that show so much), juries will very often refuse to convict without forensic and DNA evidence, even if everything is on video from a dozen angles and the forensic evidence adds no additional probative value.
negative · AI labelView post →...yeah, a decade+ ago in Ohio and PA I started hearing stories (and in one case, first-hand jury instructions) of courts having to tell prospective jurors "CSI IS NOT REAL. We do not have scanners like that! We do not get next day lab results! DO NOT BELIEVE THAT SHOW!"

neutral · AI labelView post →Such a shame too, as 'preppy goth super CSI' was concept alright. But then there's the rest of the show.
neutral · AI labelView post →A concept that just popped into my head - a CSI type show, but halfway through the season other cops have to come in and fix the fuckups of the cops from the first half.
