positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game, but unfortunately it seems more designed to piss me off with the weird fetish ♥♥♥♥ and godawful gameplay. I've been wanting to actually sit down and play Corpse Party for a long time now, given it's such an iconic RPGMaker horror game and I've already played so many of the others (like Mad Father and Witch's House). But as of the end of Chapter 4 IDK if I'll be continuing. The Good: - Really cool horror concept. The idea of a group of students doing a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very interesting well-paced horror which I would absolutely recommend, but unfortunately is ruined for me by all the creepy oversexualization of minors. You'll be invested and absorbed into a really tense moment in the story, then the game will feel the need to show you panty-shots of young children or sexually suggestive images depicting one of cast who are all minors, completely ripping me out of the experience. Don't even get me started on how one of the cast members is clearly just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very cool game but why the hell does everyone want Satoshi bro. Do people not have good taste in men in this world????
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game but i do have a qualm. This game is great, super hooking and interesting story, fun & explorative gameplay, good horror (body horror, sound mixing, etc.) The story is so sad and disturbing, its really a great plot. The voice acting is also very well done. What I could live without is the unnecessary panty shots of the 16 year-old characters, and Seiko's super inappropriate bath scene with her little brother.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PLEASE for the LOVE of GOD. WE DO NOT NEED MORE PANTY SHOTS!!! I love Corpse Party. I really do. I've been a fan for YEARS, but one thing that I cannot stand about this series is the ridiculous amount of fan service scattered throughout the whole game. This is supposed to be a horror game, but the horror just DOESN'T WORK when you literally get FLASHED in the middle of every other tense moment!!!😭 The art is great, the music is also great, but GOD, the fan service is KILLING me. Go play the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It cleans up some of the original's rough edges while preserving what made it work in the first place. A solid modern release of a classic horror game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very traumatizing! The story, cast, and voice acting are fantastic. There are tons of endings to explore, and the gore is intense. I had a lot of fun playing this on my Steam Deck (It runs really well). Just don’t play it at midnight if you want to sleep peacefully!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game will do everything to make you empathize with the characters while making them as stupid and obnoxious as possible. Apparently the only response girls here have to death/horror is crying while screaming as loud as possible (this is 30% of the game). Also I don't know why most of chapter 3 is a 14yo girl pretending to be 7 who absolutely has to take a piss but she can't because unfortunately all the bathrooms have collapsed and she's unable to do that in a corner instead. By the way,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Before I start this review I want to make two things clear; like many others, I first experienced this game back in 2014 when it blew up online, and rediscovered it as an adult after it blew up once more, 10 years later. So, 1.) I understand and share the nostalgia for this game. And in the spirit of being fair, I took the time to 100% the game, meaning, 2.) I have read everything that this version of the game has to offer. With that out of the way, this game is actual legit garbage. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really good up until towards the end of chapter 4, at which point the game just turned into me interacting with literally everything i could in hopes that i would progress. I had tons of personal issues, such as getting locked out of the ending because you missed a singular item two hours prior (which is alone what has led to me writing this negative review). Though its mostly chapter 5 where all my issues are, which would be fine if it didnt account for about 40% of the games runtime
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has good characters, good horror, a banger soundtrack, a great artstyle, and to top it off a story with so many twists and turns, so unpredictable, you are practically guaranteed to enjoy yourself. That is, if you enjoy horror. If you don't enjoy horror, this game probably isn't for you, unless you really like top-down RPG games, with a retro artstyle, in which case you may really enjoy this game still, so long as you can stomach the horror elements. The main critique I have with…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i remember back when i was a very edgy teenager and watched gameplay of the original game, all the way before it was ported to pc in europe in 2016, and thought it was the greatest thing ever. many years later now, i finally picked up the 2021 version after having played Book of Shadows. to put it very simply: Corpse Party was nothing short of revolutionary for RGP-Maker-esque games and the gore genre in video games at the time, which is why playing it gives me very heavy nostalgia. even…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Corpse Party (2021) presents itself as the definitive modern edition of the cult-classic horror experience, and from the outset it demonstrates why the series has endured for so many years. This version retells the original story with polished visuals, expanded content, and a fully modernized presentation while staying faithful to the grim, emotional core that defined the earlier releases. The game once again follows a group of high school students who, after performing an innocent “friendship…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite really enjoying this game I can't recommend it due to the copious amount of upskirt shots of teenage girls, random incest (No one in game acts like this is a bad thing and rarely if ever acknowledges it to my knowledge), and weird piss kink stuff to do with a 14 year old girl who looks and acts closer to 7... Overall the actual game is pretty good but I'd suggest interacting with this game through any other means (maybe watching gameplay). If you are going to play this game please…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’m typically someone who’s very picky when it comes to games—or media in general. But I surprisingly enjoyed Corpse Party a lot, it’s currently one of my favs, meaning I would strongly recommend playing it! I’ll give some quick SPOILER FREE, pros and cons. PLEASE take mind of the cons, because it could definitely ruin the experience (almost ruined mine because of how awful it, or cough cough should I say *they* are.) Pros: * The story/lore. The story is definitely what made me stick with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I mean yeah I'd imagine the corpses would be partying with this fire soundtrack, like hello??
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game would be masterpiece if yuka died and never came back
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →if you're only playing for the new content, ignore this review. I personally do not recommend this version of Corpse Party. While it does add new content, it's lacking in a bunch of details that honestly ticked me off. A lot of dialogues that were originally echoey and had reverb in the PSP version just sound... plain and normal, in this version, and that honestly broke my immersion. It's kinda odd because some echoey voicelines still retained their effects but the others didn't? What's the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →people are not exaggerating when they say this game is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ headache. it's like it was made with the intention of making the player want to bash their brains in. it really wasn't that bad for me until chapter 5. i am successfully ragebaited. that being said the soundtrack is a banger and the updated sprites + new content are sooo beautiful, and the filters you can put on the game are nice too (moonlight my love). basically the story is entertaining and the art + music + new content is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Corpse Party (2021) is the PC version of Corpse Party Blood Covered Repeated Fear. This version has a new extra chapter included compared to its previous version released on 3DS. If you want to catch up on the series before the release of Corpse Party 2 Darkness Distortion, this is the perfect starting point. For a bit of more immersion, I suggest disabling the play count timer and buttons on screen in the settings. Sadly, you can't remove the inventory and character's status on screen.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a fantastic remaster of the PSP version of this game, making it the definitive edition to play in my opinion. The setting is one of the game’s strongest elements, anchoring its oppressive atmosphere and psychological horror. The school exists in a twisted alternate dimension, cut off from reality, where time loops, spirits linger, and the architecture itself seems to shift maliciously. The attention to environmental detail - the bloodstains, tattered notes, broken hallways, and eerie…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's so many corpses almost like a party.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →bad gooner game has an actual c.a.m. scene could actually be a good game if it wasnt so gooner
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is... Weird. It's not going to be for everybody. There are some highly frustrating sequences, certain scenes border on thinly-disguised fetish content, and the brutality can be a lot to stomach at times. With all of that out of the way, this is an absolute masterclass in horror. I still remember playing the PSP release when I was a kid, and being awake all night long for days on end because I was so disturbed. The atmosphere in this game is honestly unmatched by most triple A horror…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played the game blind and honestly has to be the horror game that has made me feel the worst (in a good way) while playing. The story is vicious with the characters, all of them, its sad, frsutating, unjust and horrifying. I usually don't ask this too much in horror games I while reading notes leaved by other victims (and of course in some key moments in the game) I asked myself: "Why must they suffer like this? They don't deserve this, this is too much, even for horror" It just felt, so…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it took 10 years to realize how genuinely disgusting this game is and im not talking about the gore 🫥

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my ALL-TIME favorite game series growing up, getting to play it was way more immersive than you'd think if you already saw all its content. The extra chapters give little lore details that you might miss just watching a casual playthrough of it instead of trying it for yourself. Corpse party 2021 TRULY a masterpiece.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game is buns
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I hate almost everything about this game: the long-winded bad endings, the melodrama, the way it undercuts its melodrama with Weird Anime ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. One scream of despair followed by a panty shot is a tragedy; a million is a statistic. And hey, I'm no spring chicken: when you play an RPGMaker horror you expect to see the developer's perversions on display, but my personal preference is that pacing, atmosphere, and every other artistic quality isn't sacrificed on the altar of the writers'…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the second game with the most screenshots on steam ever. Why? Cause i take screenshots of the bodies I find. Sound familar? In all honesty this is up there with some of the most influential games ever made, at least fro the RPG maker horror genre we all know and love. Its a cerified cult classic and a masterpiece. The first aspect i love is the ambiguity of it all. The phrase "Show, don't tell" is always meant to refer to a con for a form of media, right? Too much meaningless…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →one of my favs and also a part of my childhood :P love this franchise with all my heart
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember watching pewdiepie's playthrough when I was like 10 playing this game. It was very scary to me at the time, not so much now but it still has elements that is pretty messed up. Not a perfect game, but I don't regret coming back to this game. 8/10, tho I 100% recommend using a non spoiler guide to play this game. I did the first 2 chapters, probably 70% of chapter 3 without a guide and at chapter 3 I was just getting so lost and chapter 4 is even worse with that. So definitely just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’ve had this sitting around in my library since release, finally had a chance to try it out… a PC version with the PSP art…. Sweet, finally. the old one sucked……. and it runs in an immersion destroying window with a terrible border? With no option to turn it off? What are we doing?? Arrrgghhhuughhh why???
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just like I remember it from my childhood, except much much higher quality. Sadly the future games do away with this gameplay style but the story and characters are still good
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →100% achieved as of 07/13/2025 Corpse Party is one of my favorite franchises EVER. I've been a fan of it since Tortured Souls OVA, since then I've been following the series but never went to actually play them. Story is full of cool stuff to dig into; as a horror fan it really pleased me, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who's a bit sensitive about 18+ content such as gore/ecchi/some fetish innuendos. All achievements aren't too difficult to achieve if you're following a guide, and it's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, what do you mean because i didn’t read a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ newspaper in a random ass room i cant go onto chapter 2, im not gonna ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ replay the entire chapter so i cant move onto the next, ♥♥♥♥ this game and everyone that said its good, literally some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and ♥♥♥♥ me in the ass if the other chapters make you do some stupid ♥♥♥♥ like that too. Horrible experience will not be continuing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting experience overall, not top tier story-wise but quite atmospheric and entertaining. Reminded me a lot of Zeno and Danganronpa Another. I think it was worth the time!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →remove yuka from the game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gave me nightmares when I was a kid watching youtubers play this. Less scary now but also less interesting because I could not finish it. Still, thumbs up
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a wonderfully narrated nonlinear opus still worth experiencing even in this day and age; though at times suspicious of extra chapters as a bunch of retcons sewing up the glaring plotholes here and there, i've actually come to really appreciate how they complement the narrative all in all. i guess even if they are retcons i don't really mind it... definitely will be grabbing the book of shadows next one of these days 8/10 i would say
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 Corpse Party is a masterpiece of the horror RPG genre and a trailblazer for many games to come. Terrifying, enjoyable, and extremely memorable. Corpse Party is a horror RPG where you follow a group of students as they traverse Heavenly Host Elementary school after unwittingly taking part in a ritual. The mystery element is unmatched, the horror feels chillingly real, and the characters are likable. This game has personally caused me hundreds of hours of speculation, media consumption,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →truly a masterpiece, the story and twist was insane, just yuka is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird esp at the extra ending, and the creator might have piss kink idk
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best horror anime games of all time. An excellent blend of Japanese folklore, highschool relationships, and genre-typical characters. Aside from the incestuous little sister, the game is fantastic and resolves a terrible mystery while building an amazing horror world.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I did not enjoy this game at all. sadly played too long for a refund. a lot of dialogue that got exhausting over time. not really scary. screen resolution is messed up, couldn't fix it, etc etc.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game w/ puzzles and a good story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The 2021 version from the Original is way different and feels more organized, the original is good but 2021 is just more clean and is more smooth.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun a wholesome. I loved the lesbian subplot. The game also teaches you the value of familial relationships through Yuka and Satoshi's bond. Least disturbing relationship in the game, and very appropriate. I recommend this game to all players who love wholesome sibling dynamics and teenagers who act their appropriate age. Also good if you enjoy 40% of one characters game play being "Do Not Pee Yourself Simulator" and another 5% being "Hide The Fact You Peed Yourself Simulator." Beautiful…
