In 2020, she released her second comedy special, Time Machine, and appeared in the 2021 film Coming 2 America.

It's nice to see majority of the original cast return but overall, not a worthy sequel. (out of 2 points each) Story: 1 Acting: 1 Audio: 1 Replay Value: 1 Overall: 1 Total: 5/10

unlabelledView post →I agree, I thought it was a natural continuation of the originals and really enjoyed it. Coming 2 America was great as well. Dolemite was a great Original film that recaptured all the fun vibes of his early work though and it’s become one of my favorites.

unlabelledView post →Why are we even doing this lmao just let Spaceballs stay in the 80s. This is going to turn out exactly like Coming 2 America, a mediocre sequel that just does the same jokes as the first movie only they suck because a lot of it is spend getting you to remember the first film.

unlabelledView post →I had a great time with this movie. It's a solid mix of nostalgia (some great needledrops from the first two movies, and the old gang being back) and new stuff, with some impressive action sequences. Anyone worried this would be Coming 2 America again can relax.

unlabelledView post →Candidate for the funniest movie greeting of all time? IMO “Coming 2 America,” when Akeem and Semmi return to the barber shop in Queens. Besides the fact that Murphy CRUSHES the character of 'Saul,' the line itsef was comedy gold. 25 CARAT!

unlabelledView post →1. “Life” (Eddie and Martin) is not that good. 2. Oxtail is overrated. 3. Baltimore is not the South. 4. The DMV is not the South. 5. “Scarface” is not a good movie. 6. “Coming To America” is the GOAT, however “Coming 2 America” is trash.
unlabelledView post →Coming 2 America (2021) The storyline is serviceable, but the movie leans more into being a homage to the original rather than trying to stand on its own. The cameos from past and present stars are enjoyable. 6.5/10, @letterboxd.social review below. #comedy #eddiemurphy boxd.it/8DjKFx

unlabelledView post →The great James Earl Jones has passed at the age of 93. He was active in film acting from his first role in 1962 as Lt Lothar Zogg in Dr. Strangelove to his final on-screen role in 2021 in Coming 2 America. He was a giant of American cinema and will be missed greatly.
unlabelledView post →Before it even begins, Coming 2 America already has five strikes. It integrates a number in its misleading title (most of the action takes place in Zamunda), it arrives three decades after the original, the plot revolves around a son that the protagonist did not know he had, its content has been sanitized to reach a wider public, and its stars are, albeit briefly, digitally de-aged. This means that C2A has at least one thing in common with 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Odd Couple II, Indiana Jones and…
negative · AI labelView post →Fun reunion, but pales in comparison to the first movie Three decades after the original film, Akeem (Eddie Murphy) discovers that he needs to go back to America with Semmi (Arsenio Hall). The principal cast members return with some new characters played by Jermaine Fowler, Tracy Morgan, Nomzamo Mbatha and KiKi Layne. “Coming 2 America” (2021) is nowhere near as good as the first movie (which is probably my all-time favorite comedy), but it is fun to see where the characters are at after over…
