(I also want to note that at no point is this game fully ''idle'' as if you have to step away and die, instead of the game continuing, you're brought to a hub area where all of your progress is wiped, hence why I feel the game is extremely misleading on the consumers part) In games like Cookie Clicker, you click till you get the game to do it for you and so…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In just over two hours of play time, you will find out that this game offers just over two hours of play time. Also, it's a scam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After reading through the comments i have some points of my own to make as a person who randomly discovered this game on release day and never heard of it before Firstly the gameplay - If you're looking for a game that can run in the background then this might not be the game for you. you can still afk but it definitely is not the way the game was intended to be played. This more more of a micro management game where youre trying to get to the end as fast as possible with many different…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Despite being labeled as an idle or clicker type game, the amount of actual content is extremely low for the "genre". There may be various "builds" you can do, but you essentially beat the game within a couple active hours of playing. The only thing left is to try to beat it faster than you did before. It is not at all what you might expect the game to be. While it's cheap enough to be a "mixed" type of game for a review, dev responses have lead me to believe that there will not be many, if…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →False Advertisement. More of a baby sitting game where you level up the same few heroes offered to you. You can beat the game on your first run through if you play properly so there is no need to play it again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no fullscreen for 9 dollars in 2024 is crazy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Doesn't even have achievements to make up for the minimal repetitive gameplay and price tag. (Edit: 5 achievements have been added since my review was made. WOW!!!)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You only have same few heroes you use every run You only fight couple of same enemies every run You only have couple of same bosses you fight every run You can't idle because the game stops the game if you were afk too long You repeat every run the same way There is a lot more content in most clicker games on your browser that are FREE then in this 8€ game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's a rouge lite auto battler, not a clicker. it's fun for a while but lacking content in the long run. avoid for now...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The draw mechanic feels more like a tedious burden than a fun addition to the game. Gameplay got dull within the first two hours which is saying a lot for an idle game. Many games at half this price have a lot more depth and kept my attention. With that being said, the game looks polished and certain mechanics are fun (building a team comp however limited, choosing which party members to specialize even though choices on individual heroes would be great, and items feel impactful). It just…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play the beta on his Itch.io, it's essentially the full game. That's how little there is to this game. $9 price tag is wild considering there is roughly 3 hours of content(6 or so unlockable npc, all obtainable in an hour or two). The actual gameplay while fun at first, gets very boring fast when you realize there really isnt any customization. This game should be $2 at most.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the concept, it would be great to get new features added because visually it really scratches the itch but in the long term it's not as re-playable as I would like. edit: nvm, the dev stopped supporting the game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →REFUNDED. Clicker Arena is an "idler" wannabe, with very heavy micromanagement, and it is OVERPRICED. It has an ending. I cannot see the value in spending $9 for specifically that, an "idler", when I can spend $0-$3 for any real idler game I can get more than 1,000 hours out of. This was my major argument with Gnorp - overpriced for something that isn't going to give me a lot of time spent within it. My advice would be to wait for a sale. Clicker Arena does satisfy that arena auto battler…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this game should be priced at two dollars. There isn't much content, and I was able to beat it three times in six hours. I even left it running overnight, so my playtime is much longer than that. I've unlocked everything in the city, but there's no challenge mode or anything like that. When I played it for the first time, I thought it was still in early access, but I guess this is the finished product.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game so far. Good balance of active and idle play. You can play active for a while and then let it farm.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great Game! It's not a idler per say but more of a auto battler arena, it is not a clicker but there is a lot of clicking involved. I really like the material gathering and leveling system as well as the food upgrades that make you level up.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Complete lack of content, zero challenge and potentially a few stolen assets from idle catfarmia?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game feels like they built the front facing part and the rest is not there. what do i mean by that? you can upgrade your starting cards to its second lvl; but that' is it, there is no combinations to build into. the monsters you start with are all that there is, you get some new companions to build your team, but it's like: just run a few matches and you have them all, almost tutorial like, the same goes for the town, it filled up. (and i got most of the artefacts and spells) and there may…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Reading some of the negative reviews i thought i should leave a positive one. The game is actually quiet good like most roguelite's some of the mechanics and characters you unlock as you progress (7 characters) i have 17 hrs and have yet to unlock everything or do the achievements which are a challenge within themselves. I believe people arn't giving this a fair chance sure you can complete 1 run but the point is to complete multiple runs, unlock everything, do rush mode and try complete the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a clicker. Not an idle game. Barely a game. Roguelite elements are barebone, and any progress made does not feel rewarding for the amount of time and effort it takes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The couple mechanics the game has don't feel fully thought out. It fails at being a good rogue-lite, clicker, idle, incremental, and any other tag you put on the game. Its cute, but that's the peak. Regret my purchase. There are better idle/incremental/clicker games in the world for free. I'd say jack of all trades, king of none...but jack would be kind. 2/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After saying demo progress could not transfer because the whole game was too much bigger than the demo, you release the demo with a couple more perks to purchase in town. Now the story is that your a new dad and more content probably isnt coming. Avoid this scam of a game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just bad. Not a clicker. Not engaging. Boring progression. Bad game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No depth at all. You complete one run in the first 2-3 hrs. After that, it's more of the same with next to nothing new added on subsequent runs. Save yourself some time and money and look else where. Also, it's hardly an idle game. It automatically pauses if you go afk for 5-10 minutes.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could easily be a free mobile game, but even then, would have fewer idler/clicker systems to play with than the average mobile title.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I scammed myself by buying this. It's not a bad game technically, it's just not at all what is advertised. It' a 3 hour experience and doesn't really require you to loop (you can beat it in the first run).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →when you start playing its hard to stop because theres always something to click on
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Felky Fun Meter |-|---------| [2/10] Meh fun! Got a bit mislead by the word "clicker" in the name+tag. This is more or an idle game with not many actions.. ..there is some meta progression; some stuff to unlock and strategy to think about; but very little clicks/commands to actually input so sadly it got boring pretty fast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →get it on 40% discount - it will worth it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good clean fun game, what more could you want? Is it a traditional idle/clicker game? no. Is it good that Developers are making games that don't fit easily into pre-existing categories? Heall Yeah. The game looks nice, runs nice and sounds nice and is relatively cheap, Give it a go, it is a unique experience and quiet fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fun but in it's current state it's not worth it, just too little content as you can play the whole game seeing everything it has to offer within 2-3 hours tops. Edit: Changing review to positive after seeing the developer continue to release updates. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →have requested refund hoping I get it despite the 3 hour playtime, there appears to be almost no new content from the previously released demo so definitely doesn't match the description of 'endless customisation/evolving gameplay/unique runs' you will have the entirety of the run experience in your first run, the only additions are slight variations on spell/hero options and some minor meta upgrades. This feels incredibly underbaked and does not feel worth the price, the dev has also indicated…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beat the "final boss" on my first run after the tutorial. This is a very bare bones game in terms of meta progression and diversity between runs. There's no skill trees, variance of items or builds between runs, it's just the same group of heroes over and over. Eventually you'll get one additional hero or two, but nowhere near enough. There are other games the same price that offer 20+ hours of content.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game overall. i only noted one minor bug on the display side; sometime, the top black line hover over the top left chest and under the audience members buttons, not a big deal. The game is smooth and the progression is good. screenshot of the bar: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3224358638
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's quite a fun little gem of a game, a sweet middle ground between active and idle gameplay. At first early on you won't have much complex stuff going on, but as you gain more glory and progress further, you'll have new unlocks to spice up future runs. I'm looking forward to new bosses and classes that will be added!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has potential, but seems like it's in EA rather than a complete title. Plenty of other robust idlers to play. Not to say I didn't have fun, but incredibly finite experience (can be realistically completed in a couple hours). Save the cash for now, but look for a "1.0" update
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unocked everything in about 4 good runs. Probably about 4 hours of active gameplay is all it took. There just isnt enough content in this idle game. It was fun for the time its content offered though.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Similar to Soda Dungeon in the sense of not clicking a lot and just focus on prepare the party to fight but you have to have an eye on the members to level them up and things like that. Not as much afk game as I thought. It's fun to tweak the amount of enemies your team can handle. For the moment it seems to be balanced and you can lose a good run if you go too fast so it requires to learn the rythm of the game. 7/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not a clicker game, its not an idle game (it actually stops progress after a short time if you idle). It is very tedious, pretty short and overpriced which is a wild combination. Theres some mechanics that could be interesting but tbh most mechanics can be ignored and the draw mechanic just becomes boring pretty quickly. Most meta progression isnt needed as you'll probably beat the game in your first or second run. Whilst it is a roguelite which is one of my favourite genres it really…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game. Has a phenomenal foundation to build out one of the most unique and addicting autobattling roguelikes I've ever seen. You'll easily get $9 of enjoyment from this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I broke the game first run plz help, game wont run.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I gave the game a try. I'm a huge fan of idler and auto battler games, and it does scratch that itch. The roguelite aspect wasn't my cup of tea, but I'm sure others will enjoy it. Congrats on the launch!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This honestly may be my favourite idle game so far.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loving the flexibility in how I can engage with the game. There's the option to actively engage with items and character skill micro to push the progress, and if I don't overexert myself the autobattler system can keep the action going during a coffee break. This kind of flexibility in play style is something I need on busy days with many interruptions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think this game is actually pretty great. I think a lot of the negativity in the reviews comes down to the name 'Clicker Arena'. Yes, you click, a lot, but it's not a clicker, nor is it an idle game. It's primarily a casual auto battler with some base building (very light) and strategy. You battle in an arena to earn glory and then spend said glory with various merchants around your town to make your next battle more efficient. There's definitely more depth here than it might seem…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought it was interesting at first, but the farther I got, the less I liked it. The first few characters you get are all you get. No variety of different units to use or unlock. Enemies are the same till you get new cards, but it really did nothing for me getting new enemies. The artifacts were probably the most interesting part of the game. If there were characters to unlock and maybe a variety of weapons (I seen one sword and one armor and one accessory in 24 hours of play) it would be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decent little game, but not a clicker game. If you go in expecting an idle/clicker game, this isn't it. Also not much content, and definitely overpriced. Hard to say it's necessarily BAD though, so my review is positive, if I could give a "meh" rating I would. Wait for a sale, and watch gameplay before you buy. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Semi active clicker, absolutely loved it! more modes and more content just released!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have eaten entire generations of ratmen. Great game to autisticly stare at for 5 hours straight.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've enjoyed this purchase. it is a neat spin on a common trope.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game one of the better auto battler games i played hope they add more classes and artefacts and give less reason to build a goblin deck because the XP and the extra skill points let u power through
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not a clicker game but it's fun for a few hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no. for 8 dollars *on sale*, it's got 6-7 hours of *very casual* content. you could totally do it in way less. if they add content, a lot of it, yea maybe. but right now, no. little mad i didn't refund. gameplay's fun, loop's fun...but you can just wait out the loop and probably get it all in a run or two. there's zero depth in this game. very disappointing. EDIT 03MAY24: I'm amending my post to positive until i get a chance to check out the new challenge mode. I want to give credit to the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I apparently discovered an unfixable state. My game is crashing at a boss reward and there's no way for me to scrap the current run without wiping my whole save file. I've tried restarting the game, windows, everything. For those of you looking, the save file location is in %appdata%\..\LocalLow\Clicker Arena\Clicker Arena Disable steam auto cloud save, delete all the files in there and start the game: it should say New Game again. It's all broken... I give up Second update: I lost 20+ of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I got this game as part of some indie bundle thing but I enjoy it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2.9 hours in, started crashing when drawing cards/digging. On the other note, apparently there's not much left to do. And it definitely wasn't idle experience, as long as you don't exceed 2 hours and get a refund..
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a clicker, not an RPG, not really a rogue-lite, no customization outside of naming your primary unit, no economy to speak of. Game pauses itself after some time being afk (why?) so not even an idler. Store description is misleading at best. What's actually in the game feels polished and seems to have some good DNA, which makes it extra confusing when you've unlocked everything after 2-3 hours and are wondering where the rest of the game is. I can't say for certain the game was designed…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun for only a few hours, more heroes needed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →not an idle not a clicker completed the game in 4 hours town is redundant as you can complete the game in 1 run would have refunded if i knew this is all the game is great ideas but terrible execution edit: dev responded they will advertise it better for what it is yet it sill says clicker arena when this is literally not a clicker game. also new things after a run completion?? wow that'd be great if there was actual content because once youve beat the game once there is literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was absolutely let down at the minimal amount of meta progression in a game tagged as Roguelite. Maybe there is loads more content locked behind something else but there is no indication of that. Not refunding as I believe this game has a good base / foundation, but the gameplay loop is rather...lackluster. Excellent concept but quickly dies down in creativity. Nothing feels like it has impact.
