I rather liked, even if it's YA. Ton of charm. You would never mistake it for a movie made today, and that's a tragedy.

unlabelledView post →The book series starting with City of Ember was high quality YA fiction. I read with my son. Really excellent. Needless to say, better than the movie.

So I decided to write a similar story that would NOT disappoint me 😂 It started as just a short story for a creative writing class & I years later decided to expand it into a novel.

unlabelledView post →Oh wait side note City of Ember series was also a very cherished book. I enjoyed the movie, too, as its own thing, but <3 loved those books. Think of 'em every single time I see Saoirse Ronan.
unlabelledView post →My first thought was the City of Ember books. There's a movie, too, with Saoirse Ronan and Bill Murray. Kinda like Silo, but for younger audiences. I for one was obsessed with it when I was small!
unlabelledView post →I prefer the 'teen' film version of the story: City Of Ember I'm on Series 3 of Silo, and can't be bothered anymore www.imdb.com/title/tt0970...

When its once powerful generator begins to fail, two teenagers (Ronan and Harry Treadway) find a secret that could lead the city to thrive again.

unlabelledView post →City of Ember was one of my favourite books when I read it in school and I had to turn the movie off after 5 minutes because it clashed so hard with the space I had constructed in my own head
unlabelledView post →I don't know if you're trolling because I don't know the movie or book but the advertising vibe makes me associate it with City of Ember, which I have seen, and remember creepy bill Murray from
unlabelledView post →The City of Ember is a great book which was adapted into a mediocre movie. Spoilers ahead for this book and movie...

It’s got to be something self-sustaining as they are going to be down there for a couple of centuries. They do provide exit instructions, but over time they get lost and so nobody knows that maybe it’s time to resurface. Now, though, the engineering is starting to give up the ghost and that means power and food are becoming…

unlabelledView post →City of Ember is an awful movie. Incomprehensible world-building, bad pacing, flat characters, terrible dialogue and an incredibly contrived plot. I'm usually not negative on this account but I had to make an exception. Do not watch this movie.
unlabelledView post →Thought of another! (I might be doing this all day.). The City of Ember and its sequels. By Jeanne DuPrau. There’s apparently a movie of the first book but I know nothing about it.
unlabelledView post →Last night I finally saw the movie City Of Ember. It was interesting with a cool escape premise but Bill Murray as the mayor did nothing for me. Very lame bad guy, if you want to call him that. Have you seen City of Ember? What did you think of it? #cityofember #billmurray
unlabelledView post →Especially something like Silo which the premise sounds like City of Ember, a meh YA movie that bombed in 2008.
