Cheaper by the Dozen
The Baker brood moves to Chicago after patriarch Tom gets a job coaching football at Northwestern University, forcing his writer wife, Kate, and the couple's 12 children to make a major adjustment. The transition works well until work demands pull the parents away from home, leaving the kids bored -- and increasingly mischievous. From TMDB

Sequel to Cheaper by the Dozen, less faithful to the book 4. I just read the book, so wanted to see how close the movie stuck to the facts (pretty close)

Since we could use our Blockbuster card at any branch, we stopped at one in Maitland, FL, I think; unsurprisingly, they didn't have it.
unlabelledView post →Got me thinking about Lillian Evelyn Gilbreth (Moller), whose husband Frank seemed to gather all the accolades, especially as portrayed in the film like Cheaper By the Dozen. She was an amazing psychologist, industrial engineer, consultant, and educator - especially after the death of her husband.

Imagine having such a dire range of movies to choose from as a child

unlabelledView post →I really like Ryan Gosling. I really like Ghost Rider. No one on the planet really likes Shawn Levy. Even his mother thought Cheaper by the Dozen was mid, just like every other film in his filmography

unlabelledView post →STEVE FUCKING MARTIN! A young Steve Martin is in this film. I genuinely think this man is one of the greatest comedic actors. I think I first saw him in Cheaper By The Dozen as a kid and just loved him in everything I saw after. I've been loving Only Murders in the Building with him in as well.

unlabelledView post →sunday morning film school #6: Cheaper by the Dozen 2 — something about these films just do it for me. I love the cast, story is very cute, and I think this is a film that genuinely impacted me as a kid to better understand that my parents weren’t perfect but they were doing their best.
unlabelledView post →Also I just wanna say that despite some bad readings, Hayden Christensen definitely did NOT deserve the Razzie he got for this movie. Woulda given it to Eugene Levy for Cheaper by the Dozen 2.

unlabelledView post →I vaguely recall watching a “Cheaper by the Dozen” movie in theaters where one of the eldest daughters has a baby. That definitely generated a lot of neurons for my smaller brain cell counts.
unlabelledView post →And the winner for the worst movie adaptation is Cheaper by the Dozen (2003). Aside from the number of children, nothing of this 1948 (set in the 1920s) classic was included in the film. The book features a husband-and-wife engineering team. Highly recommended. An efficient use of your time.

unlabelledView post →How can you deny your poor mother her dreams of an IRL "Brady Bunch"?!? 🤪 (your mother does seem to have more hope for you than your brother 🤣) Just be grateful her dream for your future is not closer to the movie: "Your's Mine and Ours (starring red head Lucille Ball)/Cheaper By The Dozen" 😜
unlabelledView post →Watching “Cheaper By The Dozen” because I saw it and wondered if it held up from when I watched it as a kid. I forgot that Tom Welling (who was also Superman at the time) spends the better part of this movie being bullied and like… he’s an attractive football player. In what fucking world?
