Cartomante is an indie visual novel where you play as a fortune teller, interact with a cast of eccentric characters and read their fortune using tarot cards. Which interpretation you choose from the tarot cards influences your clients' reactions. The game is short, but immensely replayable with several clever, funny and sometimes mysterious dialogue lines. There are quite a few possible outcomes for each reading, so don't be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My Experience Cartomante reminds me of a game I played and enjoyed last year, Astrologaster. In both, you play a character that attempts to help others with problems through some sort of divination. In my view, Astrologaster was a superior game. First of all, I think that a degree of empathy is missing in Cartomante - I did not get the feeling that my character was particularly interested in helping her clients. This could partially be because the clients themselves are so bizarre. A…

The dialogue is extremely well written, and it manages to be funny and thought provoking. If you're like me, you'll keep replaying it (and reliving the same day a la "Groundhog Day") until you get the best (or worst) possible ending for all your clients. Definitely do not sleep on this one!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good game to have some laughs, short and charming that is the secret of this game. No bugs or other technical issues found during the playthrough. With a decent writing and some crazy dialogues, the characters are surprising charismatic and hold your attention from the beginning to end of the game, by the way is a short game which is not necessarily a bad thing, you can notice by the price of the game. Worth a try, hope to see new games coming from the same devs ;)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the concept, unfortunately it is an extremely short game & has a few bugs. There no purple hue to hint previously selected cards, so i'm somehow stuck at pulling the Wheel for all 3 clients. There aren't many responses to choose from at any point. Simply just needs more work.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great history, soundtrack and good laughs! The characters are really well elaborated and so are the chats options. I laugh out loud with the staring moment (still laughing hahha)! The game length is totally dependent on you. Wanna try new outcomes? Just keep re-playing your days and making different choices! Isn't that philosophically beautiful ? All of this just to say that I really appreciate it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so excited to play a game regarding tarot but was deeply disappointed in this one. When you pick a tarot card there is no indication for the kind of message you will give, and I found myself picking bad advice no matter what. Not to mention the sense of humor in this game is not for me. The characters lack real depth, and this game has honestly made your main character out to be insensitive and unsympathetic. I got into tarot to help people, and this game lacks entirely the heart of…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A short but fun game set in a fantasy/modern setting where you play a witch who earns her living telling peoples fortunes. The game has a beautiful art style and does a great job at world building. It has interactive dialog that succeeds at being mysterious, intriguing and often times funny. The game is short but very replayable with various different readings you can get for each person that results in different and often unique outcomes, you can play the same day over and over with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a pleasant surprise. I love anything tarot-related, so that already had me interested, but I ended up enjoying it for much more than just the theme. The characters are quirky, the story took turns I genuinely didn't see coming, and a few of the endings completely caught me off guard. It's short, inexpensive, and surprisingly memorable. I also loved the colorful art style, which fit the game's mystical vibe perfectly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the game, but i really feel like at some point we should be able to decide which card we want to pick up. Perhaps after finishing conversation with one character specific card, that you already pulled out would permanently reveal itself to you, so that players could try other options.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game from this new studio. It's really a fun, quick, and funny game that feels like the developers really cared about the releasing a complete experience. Being a short game it's actually part of why it's so nice, since you can have different outcomes in such a small time playing it. I'm looking forward for the next titles of Garoa Studios! One minor point is there seems to be only 3 different cards, but the game makes you to choose 1 from 6. But after 4 or 5 runs, I had only chosen 3…

Great stylized art with colorful character design, funny and witty dialogues. Although short, a memorable game! Jogue em brasileiro, claro.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This feels like a demo of a game that would be on par with something like No Umbrella Allowed. For what it is, it does it very well. I wish there was more content, i'd happily pay for it. The gameplay is nice, though the card you pick is, obviously, random. And it shows. For a fortuneteller, you'd think you'd be able to pick an appropriate card blindly, with a tell or something, but i understand there are some limitations. I appreciate that there are three possible answers on each cards, but i…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cute, fortune telling themed visual novel with a quirky art style and funky music :] Perhaps on the expensive side for the length of the game (it took around an hour in total to get all the various endings) Enjoyable and relaxing, with charming dialogue and multiple different plots depending on your choices! I would have liked there to be more of an indication whether certain outcomes were the "better" options than others, and most of the achievements were awarded for choosing certain random…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Loveeee the concept of a colorful tarot card game! The cards speak of intuition, interpretation, and perception ✿
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is short, but there are multiple outcomes for each choice you make so you can play the game again and try something new. The first time I played it I some how got everyone killed so I played again and im not sure I helped them out any better. The art is really cool I like the bright colours and use of red. There's also bonus clicking things achievements. Click that frog.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The characters are funny and charismatic, and there are strong "Rio de Janeiro" vibes – overall, great game!
