I heard this version of “Sweet Child o’ Mine” in the movie, #CaptainFantastic & it’s stellar. Trust me. Listen through. youtu.be/Zdh2hot8rjU?...

unlabelledView post →It was such a big hit that summer, even though the film of the two of them dancing was faintly embarrassing. For those of us who were deep into EJ's Captain Fantastic album, the single was perplexing. Also, for such a big hit, it's not a song that anyone ever mentions as one of their favourites.
unlabelledView post →Captain Fantastic (2016) I've only recently seen this, but it's a wonderfully thoughtful and thought-provoking film about a family raised outside of the normal American way of life coping with grief, loss, and expanding out into mainstream American society. Beautifully shot and acted too.
unlabelledView post →I remember! When I was driving a cab I had a passenger who said “I made a movie called Captain Fantastic”. I looked up his name later that day and he was a line producer or something. Lol

In 1975, in an act of hubris, Elton John had them support him at Wembley before playing ALL OF Captain Fantastic, despite it having only just come out.The Beach Boys - who were sensational live at this stage - blew him right out of the stadium.

unlabelledView post →I think about the film “Captain Fantastic” and how living off the grid was carried out in a very isolationist way which was ultimately unsustainable for his wife’s mental health- resist harmful systems but not at the cost of separation from community is what I took away from this film.
