And Mr. Boseman’s colleagues did not feel comfortable with simply replacing him with another actor. These are real people who knew him in real life. That means more than your action movie desires.

neutral · AI labelView post →Black Panther 3 will be released December 15th, 2028. David Jonsson will star as T'Challa's son in the film.
neutral · AI labelView post →Black Panther is a movie about a man. He is surrounded by women. His family and friends. He listens to these women. Listening to the women allows him to succeed in the conflict in the movie’s plot. The movie studio makes billions of dollars. Everyone likes it. Except the “fans”
positive · AI labelView post →Finally saw the new Superman, my first superhero movie since Black Panther iirc. And I actually liked it! Best Superman since the original Nicholas Hoult was a good Luthor but imo the people who say he was the best are nuts. Gene Hackman still owns that role the way Heath Ledger owns the Joker.

I know Obama feels like the easy answer. But, that Black Panther movie really messed them up bad. they were really pissed that we wore outfits.

neutral · AI labelView post →I hate seeing people say 'Give Blade to Coogler'. To me, the best thing about Black Panther, which was a fine film, was that it gave Coogler the runway to do more stuff that's not associated with Disney at all. I want him to be able to make what he wants to make. The Marvel machine can run itself.

neutral · AI labelView post →LOL at the notion Disney should put on its board a dude who complains that it made Black Panther, a movie that of course printed money at the box office (and its sequel easily breezed into profitability) and which continues to give Disney a gigantic money spigot via merchandizing.

neutral · AI labelView post →Since those absolutely clock me as a 90s kid, some more recent ones include Hereditary (the *sound* in the theater when the thing, you know, happens), Black Panther (just a goddamn celebration), and seeing the Mission Impossible movie with a Mumbai scene in some weird theater in Mumbai by myself.
neutral · AI labelView post →Ryan Coogler is five for five now in my opinion. Even the second Black Panther movie (essentially an extended wake for a beloved actor) had more intelligence and sensitivity than it probably needed in order to be a success.
positive · AI labelView post →Obviously ridiculous but also funny because the Black Panther movie series, which Lupita Nyong'o also starred in, convinced a lot of people diversity was a bullshit corporate concept too.

neutral · AI labelView post →I am endlessly annoyed by how people adopted that vapid use of "colonizer!" line from Black Panther as a mic drop line when the whole rest of the film was calling out the hypocrisy of both its imagined hyper-privileged leads & its reactionary would-be messiah villain.
negative · AI labelView post →The weirdest reaction to the Black Panther III announcement is people who legitimately thought Ryan Coogler wasn't going to do another Marvel film, despite mentioning in every interview during the Sinners press tour that it was his next film project. 😂
neutral · AI labelView post →I say this after watching an interview with Ryan Coogler, and they mentioned how "Black Panther" was the highest grossing movie by a Black person that year and he had to tell the interviewer it was the highest grossing movie ANYONE made that year. 💀💀💀
neutral · AI labelView post →Re: Avatar's "cultural impact": I haven't seen a single Avatar movie. I've seen all of the Star Trek movies, only the first Star Wars movie, both Black Panther movies, and only one each Batman and Superman. neutral · AI labelView post →Something that always bothered me in Black Panther: at the end of the film the Wakandan ambassador to the UN says "Wakanda will now be open to the world" and another diplomat responds "Ok no offence but what can a bunch of peasants even offer?" and I was just like - man who tf taught you diplomacy!?
negative · AI labelView post →"MCU movies don't automatically make a billion now" will always vex me. That was never a thing! 2018-2019 and Black Panther and Captain Marvel making so much has forever skewed perspective. No Ant-Man, GotG or Thor movie ever made a billion and the only Cap movie to do it was also an Avengers movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →Could not happen to a nicer dude! I wonder if Marvel is just going to cede ground in regard to Black audiences. Letting manga and DC take over in all areas save for film and Black Panther.

You can hate superheroes all you want but they helped give two of the best directors on the planet the ability to do what they want. This isn’t a zero sum game.

As well as being a cultural marker that serves as a great uniter (Black people and food go together REAL BAD. Besties. Just like music). He mentioned this while promoting the first Black Panther film—

It don't matter if Ryan was finna retire, no he wasn't. Because, Denzel said he was gonna be in his next Black Panther, so there has to be a next Black Panther. Period.
