Bastille Day
Michael Mason is an American pickpocket living in Paris who finds himself hunted by the CIA when he steals a bag that contains more than just a wallet. Sean Briar, the field agent on the case, soon realises that Michael is just a pawn in a much bigger game and is also his best asset to uncover a large-scale conspiracy. From TMDB

Tonight, I am watching it, if I have to get a candle and do it in shadow puppets on the side of the house.

Rewatched Casablanca on Bastille Day and was reminded why it's a favorite. Rewatched another favorite, The Maltese Falcon for more Bogie.
unlabelledView post →Bastille Day film rec: That Night in Varennes (1982) The final scene by itself is pure brilliance - a scathing vignette of the insane delusion of monarchism. This is a revolutionary Stagecoach where old & new ideologies jostle each other but in the end monarchy in flight crumbles most pathetically.
