I am so happy our music therapist was able to find this! We hope his mom will find some comfort holding this plush close. @3wishesprogram.bsky.social

neutral · AI labelView post →The first queer couple to appear in an animated Disney film is actually this chipmunk and squirrel inter-species couple in Bambi. In this essay I will...
neutral · AI labelView post →Right?! My first movie was Bambi where the mother gets immediately killed. WTF. lol
neutral · AI labelView post →Don’t get me wrong, I loved Disney as a kid—my great-aunt, Retta Scott Worcester, even broke the glass ceiling there as the first woman credited on a full-length Disney film (Bambi, 1942). But today’s Disney isn’t that Disney—it’s a greedy corporation bending the knee to authoritarianism.
neutral · AI labelView post →MOVIE TRIVIA: For the scene in Bambi where his mother gets shot, they didn't tell the actors what was going to happen beforehand. What you see is their genuine reactions.
neutral · AI labelView post →For you young un’s: my art career pedigree is Walt Disney Animation Australia: the elite off-shore Disney studio that made both Lion King sequels, return to neverland, parts of Goofy movie and all of Extremely Goofy Movie, Cinderella 3, 3 Musketeers, Mermaid 2, Brother Bear 2, Bambi 2….
neutral · AI labelView post →One time selling smoked venison at my family’s market stall I made a sale by bullying a small child. She asked her dad what’s venison, he explained, and horrified she cried “like BAMBI?!” I said “no haven’t you seen the film? This is Bambi’s mother” and her dad laughed and bought a pack as she fumed
neutral · AI labelView post →Here's some concept art from The Land Before Time. This will always be one of my favorite Don Bluth films because of how sweet it is and how strong the Bambi influence is in this film.

neutral · AI labelView post →(scrolling through Disney Plus) 3 year old: What's that movie? Me: That's Bambi. 3yo: Can I watch it? Me: Hm, you might not want to. The baby deer's mom dies. 3yo: How? Me: Some hunters get her. 3yo: I want to watch that.
neutral · AI labelView post →If someone was like "Kasey? What's the darkest, most fucked up moment in Disney animated film canon?" And I would confidently reply "The scene in Bambi II(2006) where a hunter almost lured Bambi to his death by using a deer call imitating the voice of his dead mother" youtu.be/Dc0dR1QS4o4?...
neutral · AI labelView post →The look that Tyrus Wong gave Bambi is something that I always look back on in awe. It's crazy how many great animated films were able to pay tribute to the amazing look he gave the film almost eighty five years ago.
neutral · AI labelView post →Sometimes I think about how Bambi was basically just "what if a movie was just a painting that moved and had music" and how we'll never have another Bambi because people would call it boring for not having a typical hollywood 3-act plot structure
neutral · AI labelView post →"This ain't your little TV movie. Take that, and tell your friends don't come around here neither" - Bambi
neutral · AI labelView post →to extent that Bambi has any story at all, it's the deer walking around movie (life cycle of animals and their environments) but the real story isn't even happening onscreen. it's the story of human beings discovering how create life with animation and wondering how far they can push the medium
neutral · AI labelView post →Disney’s live-action ‘BAMBI’ film is reportedly no longer in the works. (via thedisinsider.com/2026/01/07/t...)
neutral · AI labelView post →I want to see the Behind the Music special about how Bambi went from a buck in the movie to inspiring one of the top 3 female stripper stage names of all time.
neutral · AI labelView post →Pixar is owned by Disney. Disney. The movie studio that made Bambi (mother shot by hunters), Dumbo (mother locked up by torturing circus trainers), Lady and the Tramp (Jock hit by a car), Pinocchio (whale scene traumatized kids I was babysitting so badly we had to leave the rerelease).

neutral · AI labelView post →I know the Bambi one is meant as a joke, but Matt Walsh once made the argument that the Hunter in that movie was the good guy so I don’t think this is that far off from reality…
neutral · AI labelView post →I liked Bambi. I thought it was a deerlightful movie 💜🦌
neutral · AI labelView post →He traced Bambi and thumper clip art and then copy and pasted official backgrounds from the movie in. Won’t be surprised if he did that with his other pieces sadly. I overlayed the first 2 images over his piece in the second 2 images.

neutral · AI labelView post →Let me know because I can’t decide whether or not to watch it. I don’t trust any movie with an animal in it, I grew up with Bambi at the theater
neutral · AI labelView post →No Bambi is OK. That film has traumatized countless children. They killed Bambi’s mother. 76 and still haven’t forgiven Disney for that
neutral · AI labelView post →Since that Bambi, horror movie is coming out, dear with canines will be crawling out of the shadows. I feel so seen.
neutral · AI labelView post →Broke: Public domain Bambi as a horror movie. Woke: Public domain Bambi brings a lawsuit against the hunter that killed his mom in order to find closure.
neutral · AI labelView post →Walt Disney’s “Bambi”—based on the 1923 Felix Salten novel, “Bambi, a Life in the Woods”—had its worldwide premiere in London on August 8, 1942, the first Disney film to premiere overseas. (It opened in the US five days later.)

neutral · AI labelView post →I watched Bambi again after over a decade and I remember why it is my favorite classic film. While I am certainly no cartoonist, I wanted to try and test a more ‘animated’ style to Aronnax and Oscar after watching! I love them so much.
neutral · AI labelView post →I know this isn't what I usually post but I've been a bit sad lately. And I've been watching Bambi 2 a lot... It's been my comfort movie since I was a kid. So I decided to draw Bambi and his dad today. #bambi

neutral · AI labelView post →Did you know that not only was the disney film Bambi based on a book. The original book was written in the 1930s as a allegory for Jewish resistance against fascism. And the nazis hated it.

neutral · AI labelView post →Bambi's (the baby deer on the mug) mom dies in the opening scene of the movie Edit: my bad it was not the opening scene- more like the middle apparently? I misremembered
neutral · AI labelView post →I can highly recommend this podcast on the production history of Disney's Bambi from @talkinghenry.bsky.social and @bobservo.bsky.social; it's kind of a whole thing in the fucked-up gender politics of adapting a 1923 novel, that to become A Man, Like His Father, Bambi has to be dominant and violent
neutral · AI labelView post →Hey, here's a crazy idea: maybe just...don't make a Bambi remake at all. (Good for Polley, though.) www.indiewire.com/news/breakin...

neutral · AI labelView post →Watching Bambi as an adult made me realize that this is a movie for artists. Even as a kid, I noticed the use of warm colors, different shading, and watercolors. It's the kind of movie where you get lost in the artistry.
neutral · AI labelView post →Fyi, we know the star was [Bambi Woods](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bambi_Woods), and I've seen an interview (local public access) where she talks about the process of being cast for the movie. As for vanishing, yeah, it was reported she died, but she actually moved to Des Moines, Iowa to just be a normal person.
neutral · AI labelView post →Quietly losing it that the intro to Bambi: The Reckoning is somehow more in line with the original novel than either Disney film.
