60 of 173 · most liked first**Astronarch** is a rogue-like auto-battler where you recruit a team of heroes and face off against various enemies while managing synergies and items. It’s all about strategy—mixing the right skills and items for your party to win the battles since you don’t directly control them. The pixel art gives the game a retro feel, and every run feels fresh thanks to random elements. If you're into games like *Slay the Spire* or *TFT*, you'll probably vibe with this. It’s challenging but super…

Some use magic, others their fists, while you sip your tea and hope they know what they’re doing. ☕🤞 It’s like an autobattler where your fighters create chaos, and you just cross your fingers that they’ve got a plan. And yes, RNG is both your best friend and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely underrated gem. Took me 44 hours to 100% the game due to the difficulty of some of the achievements, but I had a blast doing so. Looking forward to playing Dale's next game when that releases - spoke to him via email and he seems like a great dude.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Astronarch has a neat concept with its roguelite autobattler setup, and putting together team synergies can be pretty satisfying for a while. Unfortunately, runs start feeling repetitive faster than expected, especially once you’ve seen most of the available units and encounters. The minimalist presentation also makes it harder for matches to stay visually exciting during longer sessions. It’s not a bad game for short bursts, but it feels like it needed a bit more variety and polish to really…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really great auto-battler with solid gameplay and strategy. There are tons of different hero and item combos to try, the runs can get a bit long and once you figure out a strong strategy, it might start to feel a little repetitive. It really works great on Steam Deck without any troubles. Definitely worth checking out if you could find this game interesting, though I recommend grabbing it on sale only.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its classic walking watching game. Most of time you just watch as your charachters run some way and kill monsters. And in few moments you just clcik and again watch. Pixelart graphic is not as good as it can be, and fun is not even so high as on similar games. I CAN NOT RECOMMEND TO MY FRIEND NOR MY GRANDMA.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Score: 3/5 If you are a dedicated fan of the auto-battler and rogue-like formulas, while also being a strong meta-/power-gamer, Astronarch would probably be worth a shot. I almost want to give it a tentative recommendation, but my overall experience with the game wasn't a positive experience, more lukewarm, so I went with thumbs down. Some context/biases: For auto-battlers, I really enjoyed Team Fight Tactics (most patches), and enjoy Hearthstone's Battlegrounds, DOTA Underlords and a few…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Effectively, it's the old free-to-play Monster's Den flash games, but with tactical dungeon exploration swapped out for Slay the Spire style map progression and gimmicks. It's an incredibly underwhelming, unpolished, monotonous, imbalanced, half-hearted, barebones, lazily made offering. The biggest issue of the game is the simple fact that- unlike more notable Slay the Spire inspired games like Monster Train- it doesn't try anything unique or interesting to distinguish it from its…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Astronarch is a pretty fun roguelike autobattler with a wide breadth of characters and items that give way to a lot of different builds across many roughly thirty minute runs. While some elements of the game could use a slight bit more tutorialization, Astronarch was an easy way for me to pass the time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →randomness stacked ontop of randomness. I enjoy Slay The Spire and other similar games, but this game is STS with 8 different characters and it's just not fun. The morale system is probably the worst thing in the game and you get massively punished if even just 1 of your guys dies during a battle, even if the other 7 are still alive after a battle. The game has no tutorial. The animations are weaksauce and not anywhere near the kind of animation quality that a $15 game should have. You can only…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →total sleeper of a game. perfectly combines roguelite, party fighter, and auto battler. i just wish there was more of everything. more characters, more items, more locales, more bosses, more corruption, more modifiers. mod support would have bust this game wide open.

Here’s a more concise version of the review for Astronarch: A Stellar Strategy Adventure: Astronarch Shines Bright Astronarch is a captivating blend of strategy, exploration, and cosmic chaos. Set in a galaxy on the brink of destruction, the game tasks you with managing resources, building fleets, and making decisions that shape the fate of your civilization. The stunning visuals of the galaxy—planets, star systems, and nebulae—immerse you in a universe full of beauty and mystery.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So the fact that this game is 15 bucks absolutely blows my mind. It actually has pretty fun gameplay if you enjoy the team and item management, the only issue is there is basically nothing in this game. It's completely bare, I can't even recommend this game for 5 bucks with the amount of content. It's an amazing start to what could have been a good game, but it seems like it was abandoned before it was even really finished.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playtime: 1,5 hours (one run, died at third boss) Intro Astronarch is a roguelike autobattler. You pick 3 heroes at the start, then pick one of up to three possible area to move to with each giving you a fight, event or merchant. You get permanent and consumable items along the way, and beating a boss allows you to upgrade two skills in total. Your only involvement during combat is using consumables. Genre I love tower defense games and technically autobattlers are a subgenre of those. But…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An impressively intricate autobattler roguelike. You build a team of adventurers and upgrade them with items and abilities through a three act adventure. With a slew of characters, a horde of items, and incredibnly interestingly designed fights, you are constantly making important and interesting choices to win. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves tightly designed games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I never played an auto-battler before and I think I struck lucky hitting on this one. No doubt people could get the 100% achievements in less than the 75 hrs it's taken me but this is an extremely well balanced tactical game and I've had a blast with it. For those who don't know what an auto-battler is, you choose a team, equip them and position them where they are most effective before clicking start to let them play out battles. You choose your path from 3 lanes much as with Slay the Spire et…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Astronarch mixes roguelike and autobattler elements in a fun and addictive way. You play through three acts, each with three branching lanes on the map. You choose one of three paths and can switch lanes to an adjacent one as you go. The map clearly signals what's ahead: grey skulls for regular fights, orange skulls for tougher elite battles, green question marks for random events, and so on. You start each run with three heroes, get a fourth in the second act, and pick up your fifth hero in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is a boring auto-battler rogue-like with minimal interactivity. The only strategy is to set your heroes up so that your tank will be the first to be attacked by the enemy. After that. You watch and maybe use potions.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My wife said if this review gets 50 likes and 5 awards, she will buy a case of beer, guys help me out.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game rules. I wanted something low-energy to play that doesn't require me to plan my entire run ahead of time (cough Across the Obelisk cough). Similar-ish to Path of Achra where you're trying to find synergies. I only wish there were more DPS characters and less tank characters. Raw damage DPS also kind of sucks compared to status builds (which bypass defense). 8/10 for this genre.

Nope that's it So: Art is fantastic Mechanics are excellent Learning curve pretty good But: Could do with some form of animation, massively let down by shake shake, shake shake Music and sound effects are sliiightly repetitive Fun with enough cool and unique little aspects to stand out from the crowd. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun for an auto-battler, hard when you first start, but once you learn how to create synergies between characters the builds become pretty fun. If you want an expert tip just use Frostmancer with Avalanche lol
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really cool idea, simple and addictive.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There is just no real decision making apart from what item to equip to what character. There is technically a unit aggro system, but its pretty bare bones. There are other auto battler chess like games that are just more worth the time, only because this game has a lot of text to parse through but very little decisions to make.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Took me almost 50 hours to complete all the achievements and I loved every minute of it. I'd still be playing if there was more to do. Each achievement really helped to encourage finding new synergies between items and characters in challenging ways that didn't feel punishing at all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely fantastic game. Got it on sale for 6 CAD (70% off). Don't spoil it by looking up guides online. Experience it for yourself. Discover the nitty-gritty details by replaying hundreds of times. Part of why it's so great is because it's still not popular. Once all the best strategies are discovered it will lose its charm. Kudos to all single person game developers.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Solid rogue auto battler. Charming Art, some story, nice roster of characters, solid mechanics, and a proper ascension style 20 levels of runs. I finished my A20 run, and I think that is where I am calling it, has not quite hooked me enough to 100% the achievements/omen side of things, but it was solid all around.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was pulled in by the art and I enjoyed the mix heroes. Ultimately while it was enjoyable at first, I was really only playing to see what I could unlock next. Yes the synergies can be interesting to explore but plenty of games do this better. It's not like the synergies are all that exciting or deep and when you combine that with the passive nature of being an autobattler, well it just got boring quick. There are too many other options out there these days, especially for the price. I rate…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary I can’t decide if it is fair to vote Astronarch down. It seems to be a pretty good rogue-like auto-battler, but it is so hard to understand what is right/wrong that I didn’t enjoy the part where I played the game. Figuring out a broken build, optimal combo, or how to deploy your units seemed well designed, so if you like auto-battlers, Astronarch seems interesting and challenging. Maybe I am just not built for auto-battlers? At first, I had fun picking units, trying to figure out…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is my comfort auto-battler for sure. Just hop in when bored and start. Also, Frostmancer - I was sold. Great little gem ♥
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a gem. You build a team of heroes starting with 3 and ending with 5 at the third act. Since all of them are always available, a big part of the strategy begins right at the starting screen, it's even quite possible to plan your full 5 man team there and have it actually end up be as you imagined. The variance comes from the items you find along the way. There are like 40 of each rarity and it's hard to trust you'll find a specific uncommon (let alone a rare), or at least find it by…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This could be a good game but every single core aspect of Astronarch is poorly executed: pacing; itemization; short- and long-term progressions; and balance. Before we move on to the core-elements. let's talk art: the art is simple and lazy and that I don't mind: it's an independently-made game; cheap; and I'm not here for the visuals but for the game-play... but it's also ugly and uninspired and that's harder to forgive. Your party members feel like they were drawn in under 10 minutes each…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nice unexpected roguelike auto-battler, don't let graphics distract you. You unlock new heroes, objects and potions by simply playing or with specific objectives.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Brilliant game. Unlike anything else. Charming.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a decent prototype?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is okay. My first 5-10 runs were pretty fun, but as the ascension difficulties piled up, I felt limited in which strategies I could employ. On top of this, the unlocked items were (mostly) really bad, which diluted the pool of items further. There were a few hidden gems in there, but adding 25 items to the pool to get 2 generally good items didn't feel great. I just kept using the same item combos over and over, regardless of which heroes I employed, leaving my runs feeling same-ier…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My only wish is for more content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Astronach is a game in the vein of Slay The Spire that has the feel of an unfinished gamejam game. Not in the way that some games have half-thought-out mechanics, this game is straightforward as can be, but the numbers that have been put in were not thought about past "that sounds like a reasonable number". Which is a way to balance a game. However, the effectiveness of each stat varies, as there are virtually no ways to increase some stats and a constant barrage of items to increase others.…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Astronarch is hands down one of my favorite games I've ever played. Clocking in around 50 hours to achieve 100% completion, it has been an incredibly rewarding journey. This simple yet captivating roguelite game possesses a charm that sets it apart from others in the genre. From the moment I started, I was drawn into Astronarch's linear combat and storytelling. The gameplay mechanics are straightforward, making it easy to pick up and play, but the depth of strategy required to master it kept…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly I love this game, Are the animations the absolute best? Maybe not But the thing is, the simple animations and sprites add their own charm to it, with which ive absolutely fallen in love with, i love seeing my little guys hop and shimmy about, and it helps in keeping focus on the important stuff like ability uses and timings. Its a really neat game if you're looking for something quiet to play. Bear in mind though, it definitely has a big strategy element to it. You'll be looking at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I enjoyed this more than Slay the Spire, which is a very high praise indeed About the only negative is the stat spike at last chapter is kinda high, so if your build barely scraped chapter 2 you won't survive the first randoms. But you can and should minmax things, don't hesitate to switch out characters completely each chapters (required in high difficulties). It's telling that strongest I felt about this game is that this requires more modes, which means the gameplay loop is solid already…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good game. It's an auto-battler in a Slay The Spire format. You go through three acts with up to five characters on your team, and there is deep strategy from choosing equipment, upgrading passive/active abilities, and finding synergies between characters. The graphics are not fancy but they grow on you.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is an auto-battle game that was entertaining at first. Upgrading characters with gear and adding characters to the party as you go. Then the charm wears off and it feels like a chore trying to unlock and upgrade. People seem to like the art style but I don't really care for it so that was a drawback for me. It's a simple game and you'll probably get some enjoyment from it but in the end, I felt like I should have been doing something else.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you’re a fan of auto-battlers, you should give Astronarch a try. As with most auto-battlers, the core gameplay revolves around managing your team: choosing which heroes to bring on a run, deciding what items to equip them with, and picking the best loot after each battle. On paper, that might sound a little cumbersome, but in practice, I found it to be a pure dopamine rush. I quickly found myself hooked on experimenting with different party compositions, chasing synergies, and weighing both…
