The battles are boring and repetitive at times. It is too expensive to such a small and problem game. The secrets in the game are not even useful and do not even have an achievement. The creators have failed a lot with this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was very cautious about picking this one up, given the plethora of negative reviews from people who seemed to know what they were talking about. After watching some gameplay on YouTube, I decided to give it a shot. It does not disappoint when it comes to simple-minded, joyful co-op brawler action. There's just enough of an Asterix flavor to stir happy memories of long afternoons with the mythical comic book and it really is a very simple game. Hitting the Romans feels fun, everything is over…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34907518/]Review by Games for Lovers - only GOOD local co-op games! You want to play something with your significant other? This beat 'em up may be something for you! Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 was already a nice single player game, but this one finally comes with cooperative play. Play Asterix and Obelix as they carry around a sacred magic menhir and search for the three missing shards to activate it. Actually they want to find Arina, a high priestess…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am playing it with my 6 years old daughter. She enjoys it as much as the lego series, but for me its a far better experience. Huge advantage that the screen doesn't split!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a very good and fun game for coop for two kids or a parent and a kid. Even though the coop experience is diminished by poorly thought way of handling camera when the two heroes are far apart . So: + great graphics, + great sound , + great level design , alternating between quests, puzzles , fights + good dialogues , + good story, + dogmatix is adorable and fierce!! , + fun fights with many options + Fakeusnewus , Econimicrasious and other funny characters - Camera…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was really excited for this game since i loved the second game. But after not much gameplay, I don't like this game. I was hoping for something close to the second game XXL 2, but this is not close to that in any way. The games doesn't feel connected at all even tho this the third game in the series. The movement and combat is really boring, you walk around and hit 1 button for attacks, but there are abilities that feel super boring and just not fun to use. This might be a good game, but for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The biggest problem with this game is calling itself the third game in the XXL series. The Asterix & Obelix XXL series is probably the best Asterix games out there, this is... not. It's downgrade in every aspect, it looks worse, plays worse and combat intensity is barely there, you have platforming but you don't jump, you just "dash". Also the Crystal Menhir is a wasted concept, the ice menhir is practically useless and they all feel pretty weak. And that's how I'd define this game it's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not gonna lie, when I originally saw the game, I read the title as “The Crystal Meth” and felt a jolt of excitement stir in me. Meth is a helluva drug. The gods knows I love Meth. Asterix was one of my childhood heroes back when I was a little Gaul. In fact the whole Asterix & Obelix universum were my childhood, so you can imagine how excited I was when I heard of this one coming out. By Toutatis though, what the hell happened?!?! For a long time Asterix aficionado like myself, seeing how…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been a huge fan of Asterix since my childhood. Played XXL 1 many many times and 2 sporadically and loved them very much. This game is a disgrace to Asterix (XXL). The developers didn't attempt to make a 3D game like the other two games have been and made some random "mobile top down" game for the quick cash grab. The menu interface is even ripped off straight out of the XXL 2 remaster. No effort put into it in any way. The game looks nice, going for the collectibles is very fun and…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Completed as of writing this review: Base Game I... don't know what to tell about this... Let's point out the obvious, this is not the true XXL3. The name is only done for marketing, like with Sonic 4 for example. However when the former was initially planned to be different game but was named due to publisher's greed, this one was fully prepared to be "The XXL3". XXL2 remaster before this is the main evidence, they knew what they were going for from the start. But enough with all the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I had high expectations for this game, considering that the previous titles, expecially xxl2, were absolute masterpieces. Unfortunately, this game feels cheap and childish. The viewpoint is different, which I think doesn't work. Also, the characters can't jump or send the Romans flying, like in xxl2. I requested a refund after 15 minutes and I can advise everyone who thinks about buying this game not to do it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a lot more fun if you play it with a friend! Me and my buddy are doing a co-op playthrough. It is handy that we are able to play on the same screen as well. I'm able to use keyboard and my friend can use an xbox controller plugged into the PC. This game isn't revolutionary by any means, but it's certainly a fun game! You can check out our playthrough if you're bored on YouTube: Foolish Gamers
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a kid, my bro and I played the first XXL game and loved it. Few months ago I played the second and it was even better. This one is quite different. Camera angle, controls... You can't even jump, only launch forwards. Special attacks are impracticable and confusing, not like combos in XXL 2. I played single-player (mostly Asterix) and when in combat, the other character (in my case mostly Obelix) would just stand there and occasionally b*tch-slap a Roman. In previous games they were more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Follow our curator for similar games https://store.steampowered.com/curator/35180752-3-point-play/ Action packed + coop + fun story = Adventure through Gaul and beat up the Romans. In solo play, you can switch between characters for different skills or coop for twice the fun. There is no jumping?! This game reminds me of mario, crash bandicoot, spyro type games, but with more action. The oddest part is getting used to not being able to jump. With Asterix, you can roll between the gaps to get…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you can't reach some platforms and see no reasonable reason why, open the game's folder, then xxl3ressources/enginesettings, and change the last line to 'MaxFps=60'. The game will be playable. The developers have known about the issue for years and have been sitting on their hands ever since. If you haven't bought that title, then you're all set and don't need to change anything. Compared to Asterix & Obelix XXL2, almost everything is (significantly) worse: writing, voice acting, bugs,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so bad. While I really liked XXL 1 and 2. This one, in addition to being a bad game, doesn't look like a Asterix XXL game, in terms of gameplay or graphism. Why is it called XXL 3 ?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've only played few minutes so far and the only thing I can think of right now is "there's so much wrong here". Instead of 3rd person view, you now have Diablo-style camera, the controls are sloppy, there is no normal jumping (WHY???!, there's platforming in this game!!!!!), the graphics are abysmal and romans no longer fly away when you give them the smackdown they deserve. AND WATER KILLS YOU! No doubt about it! There's boar in the air!The game developers are crazy.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GTX 1080ti and my game is running at 15 fps ... And no fix of course :)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When you have <default sentence> showing up in the loading screen when you expect a gameplay tip or something, you already know the devs didn't care. And it shows in the gameplay too. The whole thing screams "We did not care, just give us money for nostalgia."
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you hate fun or the previous XXL games, this one is for you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just a great game. A good universe, nice graphics, sound and that’s it. Special thanks to the developers for their support of Remote Together. I completed it with a friend in a couple of evenings on my PC, no lags or control problems. The graphics are pleasant, the colors do not hurt the eyes, but rather introduce joy. The variety of locations does not let you get bored. The plot is written well, in the spirit of the films, so the canon is respected. And the plot is quite interesting to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games like this should be banned. Broken crap. Its 2d game in which you get stuck to floor and fall through map. There was absolutely 0 testing done before releasing this poor of a excuse. Buggy, glitchy, repetitive and overall broken. Those who developed this game should be banned forever from developing anything ever again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First the positive: -great graphics (prefer this style over the one of XXL 2) -love the mechanics of the menhir which include Obelix more into the game -fun mini games and puzzles And that's about it. To call this game the third part of the Asterix XXL series is a shame. It is nothing like any of the two previous parts. -the fixed camera vision is an absolute disaster especially if you're playing with the keyboard and you're trying to navigate. I don't know if it was supposed to be innovative…

Asterix & Obelix XXL3 – The Crystal Menhir: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Julius Caesar conquered Britain and Gaul when he was at the helm of the Roman Empire. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worst platforming game ever made. Lots of bugs. Cant even jump because it's retarded front convex gig. Some jump spots are only possible with using all your super potion. Story is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring. You roam in discusting environment and then you just have to go trought roman army for pull the one lever. Then you have to make again those ''jumps'' what you can't even do. So you are stuck for 10hours. Also there's stairs that you just simply can't go trought, you just slide to the corner and can't…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asterix & Obelix XXL 3 - The Crystal Menhir is a very middleing experience: Pros: + graphics are soild + game runs smooth + 5 different worlds to explore + 6 roman compounds (they are the funnest part of the game) + story is soild Cons: - cutscenes animations are very minimalistic - game gets respective after half of the game - the 5th world can be annyoing with its puzzles - playing alone can be really a missable experience because the bot mate barely do anything, if you dont have a couch…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun game but unplayable at its current state. It plays on stable 15-20 Fps with my 2080Ti and its just sad.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Verdict 👍 Recommended (but not for me) I have a soft spot for Asterix games because I absolutely loved Asterix at the Olympic Games — it’s literally my 91st best game of all time. That’s exactly why I was excited to try a newer Asterix title… but XXL 3 just didn’t do it for me. I played 2.0 hours and turned it off because I wasn’t having fun. I really hope we get a remaster of Olympic Games someday, because that one was a blast. This one? Not even close. Still, I’m not calling it a bad game —…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →They make ridiculously hard roman camp that just spoil the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Infuriating! Trying to reach platforms that are just out of reach and retrying dozens of times ruined the game. We lost interest to finish it. Good story and fun at times.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It is fun in coop with a kid. Alone, not so much. The mix rating must not fool you; they cry because it is not a TPS like the previous two, but at least it runs properly.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's always fun to be a Viking and beat up Romans. More beat-em-up and fewer puzzles than the last in the series, but introduces local co-op. The lack of jump takes some getting used to. https://youtu.be/44v9_ASIRVo
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only good A&O is Asterix & Obelix XXL: Romastered...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →4/10 not really an Asterix & Obelix XXL 3, more of an overhaul remake with local co-op. fight hoards of Romans so you can get to the next area, and fight more hoards of Romans!!! - deaths send you back sooo far.... + local co-op
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not working in GeForce NOW
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Made for 3yr olds, but I don't know if even a 3yr old can enjoy this...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very demanding in terms of hardware. My MacBook pro 2020 could hardly make it. My game controller by Logitech doesn't work in this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Differs from the previous "xxl" format, but I like it either way. Personally I liked this more than the previous titles, due to new gameplay. In xxl 2 I would be fighting against the camera, while in xxl 3 your camera is permanently in a top down mode. This makes the gameplay easier IMO, since it's easier to see where exactly the enemies are & you won't be fighting with the controls if there is nothing to control. The game has a new "special moves" button which allows you to pull of the iconic…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, its better than XXL 2. the animation is similiar to the Asterix and the Mansion of the Gods and Asterix and the Secret of the Magic Potion movies. The XXL 3 game is not direct sequel to XXL 2 but a sequel to Asterix and the Secret of the Magic Potion movie. One thing that bothers me is the jump action, had trouble jumping from platform to platform. If they make XXL 4 with similiar gameplay and graphics they should include the normal jump and double jump from previous XXL games.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a perfect game, but is fun, I picked it up on sale, and me and my significant other have enjoyed playing it together. It is hard to find games that we can play together in the same room (we usually have to play on our computers in our office) this game lets us both play together in the living room. It is a lot of fun with 2 players, not so much single player. In fact she has had to have me log in to help her for some areas when she decided to play alone. It is certainly worth picking up for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Boring piece of ♥♥♥♥.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Co-op sounds so much better, when you're not literally controlling the same character.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game to play with your kids!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- It is a nice game for spending time. Has some funny jokes inside (even some of the character names are funny). But I still prefer XXL 2 over XX3 - The game is short - Gauls kicking Roman a**es still since 50 bc :D - Obelix allways smells boar around himself 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Co-op just doesn't work so don't waste your time on this one if that's how you want to play. It's fun in single player mode but it's unacceptable to have a 7 year old game with a broken co-op since the beginning that's not been fixed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Like all the other ones this is absolute trash. You run around this empty world trying to complete puzzles and quests. Most of the combat is jank where you spam attack, but you can get instant chain stunned by archers and spear throwers. You upgrade health and special abilities but nothing really changes the gameplay. You get an upgraded stone, but mostly it is for puzzle solving, some of which are super janky and finnicky. The platforming isn't good which is also due to there being no jump for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →To start with, I am a fan of Asterix and Obelix, and I really enjoyed the game, playing it with my partnet in co-op. Buuuuuut apart from enjoying punching Romans, the game is full of bugs. There are a lot of spots where the characters get stuck over a simple stair step and the worst is that while playing the game the gates I have opened closes by themselves randomly. When I reached a certain point in the game in which I unlocked a gate providing me access close to the start of this level the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asterix & Obelix XXL 3 – The Crystal Menhir brings the beloved French comic duo back into a colorful, lighthearted action-adventure that aims to capture the spirit of the series with accessible gameplay and cheerful presentation. The story begins when a mysterious letter warns the Gauls of unusual Roman activity and introduces the enigmatic Crystal Menhir, a stone imbued with strange powers. Asterix and Obelix set out on a globe-trotting journey to uncover the truth behind its abilities,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I liked a new visual style and attempt to do something new however, I was not a fan of sooo many boring puzzles that were in the game but I liked the new combat system. I would prefer for it to be more beat em up style. The game is short but thats not a bad thing in my opinion. What needs to be said is that it is not very similar to the XXL and XXL2 the game is in my opinion differnet not bad just different so be aware of that!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asterix & Obelix would deserve something on the quality level of Rayman. Unfortunately they only got another boring, uninspired and technically less than mediocre game. Seriously, how can you make so little from so much?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wouldn't say it is good or bad, but it is average. Unlike the previous installments, this one is more of a top-down kind of thing. And granted I was having trouble with the levels, and there are some dialogue that are missing - like it cannot make it up its mind whether to throw the voices in. At least the story is actually interesting. If you are a fan of Asterix and Obelix, this game is for you. Otherwise... well, it's average... the "meh" average.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asterix and Obelix XXL3 is an adventure game. Short game. Way too short. The objective is to retrieve the Crystal Menhir with its 3 shards and save Avina. Conclusion, do try Asterix and Obelix. The mini-games do give a small amount of variety. Game is kind of clunky but I assume this is probably due to game engine code. An improved game engine and you can probably iron out the bugs. After all the effort to develop the game, only 10.6% finished the game. Something critical is missing. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a mhe game which is excusable if you really like Asterix & Obelix. But if you see this as a sequel to the other XXL games than this is a terrible game. The game feels slow and you cant even jump or ground pound. They should have not called this XXL3, as that is just incorrect.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Asterix & Obelix XXL 3: The Crystal Menhir (2019) 3/10 "It's made for kids" never excuse these cash grabs. Looks are pleasing, animations too but nothing has any life or flair to it. The attack moves are unnecessarily cumbersome to perform. Why switch off from Obelix when he has the magic menhir.
unlabelledView post →Very mediocre beat em up gameplay. I was immediately bored.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enjoyable, some puzzles/areas a bit niggly but my son and I enjoyed our time

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I so wanna like it so dont play this with kb mouse you wont be able too and even with a controller it is mind numbing the camera the controls all just really are terrible side quests repeat to infinity without telling you also which is annoying as hell get the carpets! gl in the time, you fall once, start over.. uhmm thanks terrible controls! no clue how one can really play this game to feel whole its more like a game that was half made then forgotten about
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the buggiest games I've played in a very long time. Terrible overall game design, almost no story to speak of. Uderzo and Goscinny would be ashamed of this dumpster fire.
