60 of 189 · most liked firstI don’t want to give too many spoilers in this review because I really liked the story and I want people to experience it themselves. Because of this, I will talk about some parts generally. It takes some time to get used to the game's world, characters, and story. The story starts to make sense towards the end. At first, the game felt a bit unfinished, and this almost pushed me away. However, since I am a fan of Enis Kirazoğlu, I kept playing, and I am glad I did. As I said, the game feels…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's basically just a simple beat 'em up with funny story and a rogue agent mode where you clear floors. I didn't expect much from this game, thought I would quit after like half an hour, but I actually got to finish it. Definitely worth giving it a try if you want to fight some bad guys.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overhyped by critics Anomaly Agent is a Mid AF Platformer Brawler with a lot of undercooked levels and sequences.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game that effectively satisfies the craving for titles like Hotline Miami and Katana Zero. It delivers fast-paced, engaging gameplay with mechanics that feel both responsive and enjoyable, capturing the same addictive flow those games are known for. One of the standout aspects is its gameplay design. The mechanics are smooth and satisfying, making each encounter feel dynamic and rewarding. While it doesn’t follow the one-hit, one-kill formula seen in Katana Zero, it still maintains a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate this game and I don't know why I felt the need to finish it. Maybe I thought it would get better or something would finally click? I had a few moments of fun early on but by the end of it, it was just tedious. The writing is awful but has such a high opinion of itself that it feels the constant need to interrupt the flow with bad jokes and endless text. I have no idea what everyone else is seeing in this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Chaotic beat 'em up action with a meaty campaign, mildly marred by too much at one time As a long-nosed dapper dresser whose zoomed-out sprite resembles Spike Spiegel, you have to beat up hordes of robotic clones with so many different powers it feels, at times, like trying to unlock a moving door with an armload of keys -- several of which you know might do the job. But I'm a video game guy, after all; too many toys is not really a problem at the end of the day. The style is great, the…

unlabelledView post →I was truly surprised by how much fun I had playing Anomaly Agent. The action was brisk and fluid, with just the right amount of breaktime in between the action to give your weary fingers the chance to recover. Although the developers recommended playing Anomaly Agent with a game controller, I found it absolutely playable with a keyboard. Yet, because the game maps the Shift key to the dodging action, I highly recommend players to disable Sticky Keys in Microsoft Windows before playing.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Müthiş keyifli oyun.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is a gem! I don't think I can simp enough for this for one, the synthwave retro futuristic vibe and music, a kick ass protagonist that reminds me somewhat of Cowboy Bebop for some reason, a nice cast of supporting characters - a simple yet fun to follow plot and lots and lots of fighting. For a side scrolling beat-em-up style game, the dev managed to pack it a lot of possible combos with a variety of tools at your disposal. Anomaly Agent combines the best of all my favorite themes…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anomaly Agent is a compact cyberpunk action adventure that mixes side-scrolling beat-'em-up combat, platforming, firearms, unusual weapons, character progression, humorous dialogue, and a reality-bending storyline. Developed by Phew Phew Games and published by Phew Phew Games alongside GameDev.ist, it follows Agent 70, an operative assigned to deal with dangerous anomalies before their growing influence throws the world into chaos. The adventure moves quickly and confidently, favoring…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anomaly Agent was an enjoyable action platformer game. Characters are fun and games humour Side is good too. The combat part is quite fluid and enjoyable, the story is not bad. I like the soundtrack of the game ,The boss fights are not bad . The level designs are the same after a while , the visuals are also quite good but the side bosses are repetitive, there were times when I got bored during the platform sections, other than that it was a very enjoyable game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Anomaly Agent is a slick side-scrolling action game with tight combat and a fun combo system. I really enjoyed the beat-’em-up style mixed with solid platforming segments — it feels like a modern take on what I loved from PS2 and GBA-era games. The 80s-inspired aesthetic fits perfectly, and the sound design is excellent — every hit and beat lands just right. The story has a cheeky, tongue-in-cheek tone that makes it even more enjoyable. Definitely worth a play if you like stylish action with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TLDR: Fun and humorous story about time travel and anomalies. The combat can get frustrating due to overabundance of buttons. PROS: ➕Good and humorous story, albeit convoluted ➕Music ➕Friendly healing/checkpoint system ➕Upgrades and Good/Bad dialogue choices add some flavor CONS: ➖Too many buttons = ability overload/analysis paralysis ➖Levels tend to drag on ➖No level select? ➖Very linear Content (Game world/Narrative) – [7/10] The game world is a 2D pixel world that takes place in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the most horrible game i have ever played, not only the game mechanics suck ass the enemies are stupidly op making it so if your not on guard all the time half your health will be gone in one strike and you will be ganged up on every enemy on screen
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Should you buy... Anomaly Agent? Short Answer: It's a fun but linear action platformer game with a kooky story and respectable sense of humor. Worth the price they're asking, but isn't going to change your life. Long Answer: Anomaly Agent is the most 4/5 star game that I have played in recent memory. There's really nothing that this game does wrong. The combat is enjoyable with a solid amount of complexity and an engaging combo system. Whenever you figure out how to use a new tool and just…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story didn't really make a ton of sense to me, but I'm stupid, so that might be why. the music is killer and the gameplay is fun! I will probably return to this to play the roguelike game mode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is pretty incredible and I enjoyed it a lot more on my second playthrough because the controls started to feel like second nature by that point. The game itself has an almost Hotline Miami vibe where you will die a lot (probably) and instantly restart to get back into the action... I can't emphasize how much I love when games do that. The upgrade tree is mostly usable stuff as well, but some are better than others. All of the weapons feel great to use, hand to hand combat is…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Indie game checkpoint! You are now obligated to share one of your favorite indie games (sorry i don’t make the rules) Anomaly Agent - a fun story with very satisfying combat. Got clued into this one by @gizmogladstone.bsky.social and I’m grateful to him for that - big recommend!
unlabelledView post →This game has great humor and fun gameplay. Everything is simple but some parts feel unnecessarily difficult. The story, gameplay, and overall were good. It made me feel like i was playing a pixel detective game. !!! Double jump doesnt work when using a controller !!! The game recommends a controller, but im forced to play with a keyboard !
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is not that good, for a game that looked great in the trailers this playable versions is janky and weird to control. The graphics are ok I guess. But the story is not that good either, it tries to be goofy and fun but at this point it feels too forced. I expected a lot more from the graphics and art. I wish I liked it more because the trailer got me really excited. Maybe I'm too demanding with the current level of indie pixel art games. You should give it a try yourself.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2D action! I grow wtih these games but this game has a different story & dialogues. BTW We know developer from Turkey. You need to know skills can upgrade , Don't judge first section :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →> John Wick meets James Bond meets Pinocchio ## Why - Nails the frenetic, improvisational combat it's going for - Also nails the cyberpunk disco vibes - Never stops introducing new mechanics ## Why Not - Feeling as cool as it makes possible isn't easy - Maybe a few too many mechanics to keep track of in a ~5 hour game ## Impressions You deflect a bullet with your bag, use your shapeshifting bat to combo down an enemy, pick up their gun so you can unload it into an elite then throw it at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →EN: People in the game call me dumb and insult me. Our character doesn’t react at all, like he has no soul; I wouldn’t have stayed silent in that situation, no matter what. There’s a baby anime girl who follows us for about an hour at the start of the game. She says things like, “Mister, I can’t find my mom.” I mean, what was your purpose with this? It’s a small detail, but a bad one. Why? Why was this added to the game? What did it contribute, other than annoying us? After a while, there’s an…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PSA: Make a backup before the end of the game if you want to see both endings (without having to replay the whole game). PSA for 100%'ing achievements: Getting the last ones (the rogue agent mode ones) is very hard. Good, solid game. Recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cant double jump using controller, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tresh game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was originally going to give this game a 4/5 after finishing the story, but that changed to a 3/5 once I started Rogue Agent Mode. The game promises a cheesy 80s/90s arcade style beat'em up/platformer, and for the most part, it delivers. The pixel art graphics aren't anything groundbreaking, but they fit the game's aesthetic perfectly, and the character portraits add a nice touch to the atmosphere. The soundtrack and sound effects are excellent and fit the retro synthwave vibe the game is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't remember the last time I had THIS much fun, with a game. They keep coming up with new ideas and gimmicks, to keep the action fresh. And the comedy is pure gold. Amazing music as well. Highly recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fantastic time travelling romp from start to finish. The main character's clear inspiration is Spike Speigal (Cowboy Bebop) and I think they nailed the kung-fu action and swagger of the character. Combat is the biggest highlight here, it is just so fun and addicting once you get into the flow of it. The visuals are fabulous as well. Story was intriguing and kept me entertained without overstaying its welcome (about 5 hours to beat). Overall, would definitely recommend!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quick mini-review - Convoluted story that involves time travel - Long/Bloated levels that just go on and on. Most of the stages can be cut in half and would not lose any impact - On normal or higher you go down quickly when surrounded or in intense boss fights. I got most of the health upgrades and the bosses in particular can 3 or 4 shot you. - feels like there is a lot left on the cutting room floor, i feel the game was changed or 180'ed in development. Lot of under accounted characters,…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is quite good. I hated that the REAL ending is behind a "Rogue Like" game inside. It took me 20 hours to unlock both endings in HARD. Now, in order to see the REAL ending I need to play that part of the game, for another 30 hours just to see the ending. That, I hated it, because I never liked the Rogue like type of games. It feels like a cheap excuse to make the game longer. Because, it makes you replay the same levels 200 times, until you get to the end. I wish they wouldn't have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game # 3 finished in 2024 - Anomaly Agent Shit this game is good. The combat’s satisfying, the dialog’s funny, and the art is very much its own thing (complimentary). Not on my radar until @gizmogladstone.bsky.social told me to check it out - he was right! store.steampowered.com/app/2378620/...
unlabelledView post →While it has a lot going for it, the actual gameplay and controls are atrocious. You have no room to maneuver because of non-sensical obstacles all around you and then you get 4-8 enemies dropped on top of you. It's an unbalanced and thoughtless mess.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This ain't it. Blurry 60 FPS lock scrolling, overloaded controls, boring ultra basic platforming and unfun combat. Story might be the best part but starts very unfocused. Almost no options but they managed to have broken controller rebinds so you have to trial and error setting them up... I rarely quit games but this one was unbearable. How this is rated so positive is beyond me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stylin game, fights feel good when you get in the groove. Level design is uninspired, though. Many many many hallways. Rogue Agent mode was a good challenge.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simplistic in style and gameplay, so much so that i didn't feel pulled to finish the game. Had some fun but still, consider it very mid .
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd been looking for a fun 5-6 hour experience similar to Katana Zero for a long time. This game gave me exactly what I was looking for. I think the combat is a bit clunky compared to other examples even though the combat is trying to be the strong suit in this game. Dodge does not work perfectly well and you feel it in the middle of fight with large groups, even sometimes it gets impossible to parry or stun. I think the mid-game action felt a bit repetitive and monotonous. The level design in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whoa! I really got surprised by this one! This game has a very nice gameplay, the story is interesting and the soundtrack is a banger! Fully recomended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Müzikleriyle, mizahıyla ve oynanışıyla güzel çerezlik bir oyun olmuş. Başarılarınızın devamını dilerim cherryson bey ve pew pew games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This may be the first time I've seen the Unity logo splash screen, thought "oh no", and then been wrong because the game is actually good and fun. The main story is decent, though a bit trivially easy as it has regular breakpoints that restore you to full health and can be resumed from. But then there's rogue agent mode, which has all the challenge the main story lacked. Which is a good model it turns out, because it means you can enjoy the story without getting annoyed, and then you can…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun side-scrolling pixel art. There are a ton of different moves to memorize, but when you nail the perfect combo it's really rewarding. Trying new moves or techniques is also encouraged via an extremely forgiving checkpoint system. It's a ton of fun for just a few bucks!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun, responsive, and snappy combat. Satisfyingly quick and perfectly challenging. I love the set pieces, the art style, and the music. I am super impressed with this game.
