American Ultra
Mike is an unmotivated stoner whose small-town life with his live-in girlfriend, Phoebe, is suddenly turned upside down. Unbeknownst to him, Mike is actually a highly trained, lethal sleeper agent. In the blink of an eye, as his secret past comes back to haunt him, Mike is thrust into the middle of a deadly government operation and is forced to summon his inner action-hero in order to survive. unlabelledView post →Like Bari Weiss, going to become apparent quickly that he wasn't drummed out because of "woke" but because, besides of being a fucking freak rapist, he can't write. Like, you really want the American Ultra and Bright guy to write your movie?
unlabelledView post →I don't think Eisenberg has ever confirmed it, but he worked with him in the movie AMERICAN ULTRA and then chose to play Lex Luthor in that particular way.

unlabelledView post →American Ultra was a decent movie with a good cast. It deserved better.
unlabelledView post →Movie watchers, here's one from 2015! It's a romance spy action comedy with a twist! I didn't expect to like it, but it had me laughing. It was pretty good but does have violence. American Ultra (2015) #movie #movies

unlabelledView post →Who thought it wise to host a very public (and expensive) script bake-off between Danny McBride, someone who at the bare minimum will deliver a GI Joe movie where Walt Goggins does funny and/or cool shit, and the guy who wrote American Ultra? That exec needs to be fired.

unlabelledView post →Whats a dumb movie you will stan to the ends of time American Ultra (2015) Very silly spy shenanigans, played for and achieving maximum comic effect. Jesse Eisenberg kills someone with a spoon, and it proceeds from there

unlabelledView post →I also somewhat recently saw American Ultra. (2015) It is truly one of the movies of all time. The movie is takes itself a bit too seriously to be a stoner comedy, but tries a bit too much to be a stoner comedy to be taken seriously. Topher Grace makes for a fun villain, though, as an overeager CIA agent seeking to accelerate up the ranks in the dumbest way possible. Walton Goggins also commits to the insane trained killer bit. It's not great, but also not completely terrible. Truly a movie…

unlabelledView post →American Ultra was a mixed bag On the plus: Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart were awesome. The whole cast was good. And most of the movie ruled On the negative, it's a Max Landis script. And they become CIA agents at the end 6/10, not for a lack of trying mind you
unlabelledView post →American Ultra is not fiction. The movie is based on MK Ultra secret experiments by CIA to make unaware people become secret assassins performed by psychiatrists using drugs and hypnosis on victims. MK Ultra was exposed to the public in 1974 by a New York Times investigative report written by journalist Seymour Hersh. The movie itself is a good action comedy about government conspiracy. Under the comedy premise it shows how the MK Ultra program was supposed to be happening. Recommended. Those…

unlabelledView post →I think American Ultra might be one of the most underrated movies of all time, and I mean objectively not in the "this is slightly better than people think" kind of way. Sub-50 tomatoes on both critic and audience scale. Objectively a "bad movie". But I think it's great. Great cast, great fun.
