60 of 148 · most liked firstwhen i was 9, dad took me and my little sisters to see BEE MOVIE. theater full of lil kids. movie starts rolling and instead of an animated feature about bees there’s a man being doused in gasoline + set on fire. so many crying children the theater had started playing AMERICAN GANGSTER by mistake

unlabelledView post →There’s another great line attributed to the gangster Frank Lucas as portrayed by Denzel Washington in the film AMERICAN GANGSTER “The loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room.”
unlabelledView post →OH ERIC, YOU SAY YOU'VE 'SEEN THIS MOVIE MY ENTIRE LIFE." WE HAVE SEEN THAT SAME MOVIE TOO: YOU PROBABLY WANT US TO BELIEVE IT WAS "AMERICAN GANGSTER" OR "MOB TOWN" PERSONALLY, JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION, IF YOU WERE HONEST, THE MOVIE OF THE TRUMP FAMILY WAS "THE GANG WHO COULDN'T SHOOT STRAIGHT."
unlabelledView post →Mine is “actually American Gangster is the best Denzel movie of the 2000s and they should recut it so there’s no Russell Crowe”
unlabelledView post →American Gangster (both the film and the album)
unlabelledView post →#NowWatching AMERICAN GANGSTER (2007). Director: Ridley Scott. Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe. Haven't seen this one since it was in theaters. Remember it being solid, well made, & well acted without being particularly surprising or unique. Take two. #filmsky 📽

unlabelledView post →Watching the movie “American Gangster.” A character had a Wu-Tang Clan tattoo, which I thought was a funny anachronism, since the movie takes place during the Vietnam War era. I didn’t realize that character was played by RZA.

unlabelledView post →I feel like my engagement is low so I'm going to drop a scorching hot take on you. Get ready. This is a big one. American Gangster is severely underrated. Washington and Crowe are cooking the entire time. Absolute classic mob movie. Give it a rewatch, you'll thank me.

unlabelledView post →Denzel Washington in American Gangster. Honestly, pick any film he was ever in: he’s 😳🥵🤤. I honestly doubt he’s ever been in a makeup artist’s chair in his entire career. His attractiveness is so effortless. It’s just not fair.

unlabelledView post →I was rewatching American Gangster (2007) earlier, and for the first time (already having seen this movie a few times) I noticed that in the scene when Russell Crowe's character first meets with his new undercover narcotics unit, RZA's (who plays one of the cops) Wu-Tang Clan tattoo is visible.

unlabelledView post →American Gangster is a weird hybrid of Ridley Scott’s idea of a 70s blaxsploitation film and a half baked remake of the French Connection featuring Russell Crowe and it’s somehow really boring despite Denzel Washington’s performance. It’s ultimately something that never fully comes together.
