40 of 40 · most liked firstNow that volume 7 is officially out— I've taken over translation work on Always a Catch!, AKA that one romance fantasy series with the girl with the knuckle duster hairclip. I hope the readers enjoy the latest volume! And for those unfamiliar, there's an anime this season on Crunchyroll!

neutral · AI labelView post →YAY! New volume of Always a Catch is here!! Thank you for @square-enix-books.com for publishing this series! Looking forward to diving into this volume!! 🤩
positive · AI labelView post →**Re: ZERO** - I still love their commitment to maximizing the time slot. Barely flashed the title screen in the first ep. The arc is starting a bit slow, but in a way that makes sense as build up for later. Its nice to scale down to a smaller group of characters for a while and rotate a few in that haven't been active in a while. It's kind of funny, I don't recall ever really liking the first season, but at some point the world building, characters, etc. all built that into a foundation for a…
neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 1 Impressions Looks pretty good, nothing amazing though. Character's aren't all that unique in look, but personality wise I do like them. The show is pretty humorous, but it's not always landing for me, as it feels like it is holding back. It's being goofy at times, but the joke setups keep having me expect it to be a bit more ridiculous than it turns out to be. I'll give the series a couple more episodes to see if it finds its stride, but this could end up a binge later…
neutral · AI labelView post →Renato FINALLY gets to meet Mimi's crazy family, including her adorable little brother who steals the show in this volume. Check out ALWAYS A CATCH Vol 5, and this whole hilarious series! #GraphicLibrary
neutral · AI labelView post →Finally done with **Nana**. It's among my least favourite non-seasonal watches of 2026. I liked the first half much, much more than the second one, which I struggled to finish. Character introductions and Nana and Hachiko's friendship development were fun to watch, but when Takumi appeared and THE THING happened the story just reached the peak of annoyance for me. Hachiko's taste in men is diabolical; she was cursed by the Great Demon Lord. ::: spoiler **Spring 2026** I won't be sticking…
neutral · AI labelView post →Finished 'Always a Catch!' honestly it's a small simple and cute romcom series. Plot is simple, but nonetheless I don't mind. It's more on a chill side. I have to say that I'm glad to watch this after watching Link Click S1 and Journal With Witch~ I needed a small chill series.
positive · AI labelView post →221. Always a Catch! (9/10) I very much enjoyed this show. Mimi and Renato make a great pairing. Placido and Aida were a great side couple. Mimi is a really fun protagonist. I wish that this will get a season 2 someday.
positive · AI labelView post →Finished watching Always a Catch~ I was already a fan of the manga so I pretty much knew what to expect with this and I'd say the adaptation made me like the series even more~ ^w^ It's such a silly and light-hearted series with a super endearing cast.
positive · AI labelView post →This review mentions something I noticed in this episode, which is that Always a Catch has some of the *least* unsettling CG horses I've seen in anime in recent years There's plenty else that's good about this show, but this stuck out somehow
positive · AI labelView post →Always a Catch kinda shocked me with how much fun the first episode is. It has the kind of wild energy you rarely see this kind of show, and it has just enough visual quality to back it up. Also the main character uses brass knuckles with a family photo on them as a hair ornament

neutral · AI labelView post →I've been finding "Always a Catch!" a passable but relentlessly middling anime series with regard to humor, emotion, action, and artistic style. But I had to laugh at this line. Cause this secondary character is the most prudent, discrete young woman in the show […] [Original post on dice.camp]

neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 12 – “How I Punched My Way into Marrying a Prince” After this post goes live, I shouldn't have to write Always a Catch! on my blog for quite a while. This is either a blessing or a curse, and I'll let you decide which one it is once you're done reading this post. Anyway, like I suspected, this episode had a focus on the aftermath of the ending of the previous episode for part of its runtime, with the rest of it being dedicated to the ball! Finally! Took us long enough!…
neutral · AI labelView post →It was never a great show but #AlwaysACatch was always a FUN show, and I’ll generally forgive a lot for that. Besides, what’s not to like about a girl whose favourite hair accessory is ALSO a fully functional set of brass knuckles (that she ABSOLUTELY knows how to use to great effect)?
positive · AI labelView post →ALWAYS A CATCH kind of a cheap-looking show and i don't think it commits to the bit as much as it could but mimi is a fun character and i think she carries a lot of the show's weight. it's alright, but the bones of something better are in there, nagging at you throughout ed goes crazy tho
neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 11 – “The One That Got Away Gets Dragged Into Romantic Trouble” "I don't wanna talk about this episode!" I say as I sit down and proceed to write my simulcast writeup about this exact episode because it'd be more suspicious if this post was absent than if it was present. Look guys, I'm sorry, but I was not a fan of this episode overall, mainly because the plot of it kicked off of one specific man. If you've read any of my posts from prior to this one, you probably know…
neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 11 Puts Renato's Jealousy on Display Renato's jealousy in Always a Catch! Episode 11 lands his cousin in a dungeon for a simple interaction. The show frames Ireneo's playboy persona as a political shield, not a character flaw.
neutral · AI labelView post →I will also say this for #AlwaysACatch: the two princes in this series, Renato and Placido, are both VERY firm and honest in their intentions towards Mimi and Aida respectively. It’s actually quite charming to watch. :)
positive · AI labelView post →youtube.com/shorts/GCeDJ... Every season there's that one anime nobody talks about despite being genuinely great. For me, that's Always A Catch! (Nigetsuri). Mimi is one of the most charming protagonists we've had in years and the show never fails to put a smile on my face. #Anime
positive · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 10 – “The One Who Got Away Prepares For a Ball” Since this is the first post that I'm making in June, I'd just like to say happy Pride month! I know this isn't really something that would apply to this title, but literally I can't determine whether or not any of my other simulcasts would be considered as more fitting, plus I think the closer to the start of the month that I make this post, the better. Anyway, time to actually get down into the details of this episode.…

neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 8 – “The Secret Date of the One That Got Away” Okay, new week, new episode of Always a Catch!, and unsurprisingly, me ranting about a translation decision in the title for the next episode that just astounds me, which I'm just going to get out of the way now. Right now, structure wise, we've had: Episodes 1-6: "How..." Episodes 1-3: "How I..." Episodes 4-6: "How the One That Got Away..." Episodes 7-8: "The [fill in the blank] of the One That Got Away" So you'd probably…
neutral · AI labelView post →@apc In addition to most of the shows that have been mentioned, I’m also really enjoying Always A Catch. With an ass-kicking protagonist, fun fight scenes, romance, great characters, humor and positive attitudes, it’s always an enjoyable watch. #animangafoundit #anime #AlwaysACatch
positive · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 7 – “The Fists of the One That Got Away” Having two simulcasts to watch each day is crazy, because what do you mean that after this week's simulcast episode of the other series that I watch on Wednesdays having such a serious ending I suddenly have to turn around and watch this series? I literally put off watching this episode for a while because I needed the ending of that other episode to sink in! Anyway, here's your regularly scheduled Always a Catch! writeup. For the…
neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 6 – “How the One That Got Away Fought With Her Father” Okay, I think I figured out why this "the one that got away" thing to refer to Mimi is bothering me so much. The first time the phrase "the one that got away" was used in this series (Episode 2), it was clearly in reference to Renato. While one could argue that Episode 4 could be referring to Renato in that instance as well, Episode 5 is when the naming scheme stopped making sense. Why is Mimi being referred to as…
neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 5 – “How the One That Got Away Visited Home” The episode naming structure for Always a Catch confuses me. Episodes 1 through 3 were named things along the lines of "How I..." which, okay, fair, we know those are talking about Mimi, since she's the main character. Starting in Episode 4 and persisting into this episode and the next one, however, the episode naming structure has gone into "How the One That Got Away..." from the very simple "How I..." we had in Episodes 1…
neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 4 – “How the One That Got Away Was Troubled” Okay. Let's see just how far I get into this writeup before I begin letting my frustration show. After all, there's a character that we get an official introduction to in this episode that I don't really like. Okay, so we begin with more of the aftermath of the ending of the previous episode, which involved the assassination attempt on the queen, and how an investigation is starting regarding that, involving Mimi providing a…
neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 3 – “How I Trained to Become a Lady” Okay, woo, this was an episode! Let's see how well I can communicate what happened in this episode. I don't think it'll be that difficult, but I may end up stumbling over stuff. Many apologies if that is the case. Anyway, let's get started. Despite what the title of this episode suggests, we don't get to see extremely in-depth lady training done by Mimi. We do hear some comments made by characters about how ladies shouldn't act when…
positive · AI labelView post →And now the truly dumb shit I can't help myself with- Always a Catch!: A Bridgerton-type rom-com, where every single set-up in epsiode 1 has been resolved. This show is so so weird in terms of plotting. Nothing can sit for a minute. Just constantly throwing stuff at you. Wild experience.
neutral · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 2 – “How I Caught the One That Got Away” Before I get into my post about the episode, my web viewing finally got the new player on Crunchyroll (or if I've had it for longer I literally hadn't noticed it until now), and god I hate it. I dislike the fact that the fast forward and rewind buttons are next to the play/pause button. I don't like how the time thing shows "time you're at/-time remaining" instead of having a reading format that easier to understand. Also, for…
positive · AI labelView post →Thoughts on a couple more first episodes from the new anime season. Always a Catch! (Nigashita Sakana ha Ookikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana ga Ookisugita Ken) is yet another trope-filled romance show about an innocent lady being humiliated by being dumped by her betrothed at a high society event.
neutral · AI labelView post →Huh, I haven't gotten to it yet. What're the problems so far? (I've only checked out a few new shows so far: Observation Log and Always a Catch, which seem cute enough. The obligatory Appraiser show, which seems pretty bad. Petals or Reincarnation, which I...don't know what to make of.)
positive · AI labelView post →Always a Catch! Episode 1 – “How I Searched For A Promising Catch” Always a Catch! was one of the few shows where I decided to watch a trailer for it prior to watching the first episode. Hell, I watched two trailers before the first episode dropped. And the only reason I knew these trailers existed was because the international TMS YouTube channel (Anime! on TMS Official Channel) posted the English subtitled trailers, which made me positive that this series was going to get released in America.…
