By contrast, Netflix went out of its way to license the original THE FOUR SEASONS film so it was available for people who watch the show.

unlabelledView post →Didn't much care for the film (wasn't expecting to), but Lively is (as always) resplendent, and single-handedly makes it worth watching, because she's a good actress AND oozes old-fashioned star quality. She's a knockout in The Age of Adaline, The Town, The Shallows and A Simple Favor.

unlabelledView post →Re-watched A SIMPLE FAVOR to prepare for this weekend's direct-to-streaming sequel. This movie is still really, really good - an effective mix of twisty mystery and dark comedy - and it's arguably Anna Kendrick's best performance and Paul Fieg’s best turn to date as a director.

unlabelledView post →Sounds interesting… Especially given both Seyfried and Sweeney have shown a penchant for taking roles and projects not traditionally safe for people in their positions. I really love A Simple Favor too, so Feig as director adds to that. variety.com/2024/film/ne...
unlabelledView post →Yes, it is still amazing to me that Hollywood watched things like A Simple Favor and Hustlers make money, decide to pretend Ford vs Ferrari had instead by greenlighting accordingly and the Film Press blamed audiences (and nearly everything else but) when audiences didn't show up.
unlabelledView post →So I'm watching 'A Simple Favor' because I've never seen it or really even heard of it and I'm about 30 minutes in. It's really good? Does it fall apart in the third act or something? I know there's a sequel but since it was a Prime thing I assumed it was a crap sequel to a crap movie?

unlabelledView post →I know the rumor is that Anna Kendrick hates Blake Lively, but I kinda like their energy on film together. Are A Simple Favor and Another Simple Favor “good” movies? No, but I like their chemistry. I want to see them in a true buddy comedy!
unlabelledView post →The sequel ANOTHER SIMPLE FAVOR (2025) is a watered down version of the first film, A SIMPLE FAVOR (2018). Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively are game as usual, but are burdened with a plot that lacks an edge. My review. macguff.in/film-reviews... @seattlecritics.bsky.social @ofcs.bsky.social #Filmsky
unlabelledView post →A Simple Favor was a terrific movie. Smart, fast, fun. Another Simple Favor is... not. BUT! It's fast and fun and delightfully campy. It's not a good movie but Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively are incredibly watchable. It's 60s goofy weirdness
unlabelledView post →"A Simple Favor" (2018) was so fun. Loved the twists. Honestly insane this is getting a sequel but Kendrick & Lively had amazing chemistry in this, so I get wanting to make another. Probably should have just gotten the band back together to make an original movie. Wish Hollywood did that more often.
unlabelledView post →A show or movie that had the worst ending in your opinion? A Simple Favor. The “comedic” twist at the end ruined all of the buildup.

unlabelledView post →Not sure the world was crying out for a sequel to A SIMPLE FAVOR, but hey, I very much enjoyed the first one (Kendrick + Lively + girlcentric noir-lite plot = winning combo IMO), so I'll be there for this. variety.com/2024/film/ne...
unlabelledView post →A Simple Favor. I read the book and it's absolutely insipid garbage. The movie turns it around and makes fun of the main character while giving us Blake Lively in shirtless menswear & Louboutins, goes from dreadful to delightful somehow

unlabelledView post →I KNOW. I am going to fall down a rabbit hole. Do you know if it’s tied to the movie, Verity? The book wasn’t for me, but I’m interested in how the movie will tell the story…like how “A Simple Favor” became an entirely different genre between book and film.

unlabelledView post →#TheHousemaid Review Paul Feig's back in A Simple Favor mode. A movie that knows what it is, hits all the tropes, and has fun with it while managing to have some surprises up its sleeve. The cast is good in this. boxd.it/cadsfP
unlabelledView post →THE HOUSEMAID is a lot of fun, in a similar vein to Paul Feig's A Simple Favor. It's a great audience movie, filled with crazy moments, far-out reveals, and lots of darkly funny, self-aware humor. Everyone here knows exactly what sort of movie they are in, with Amanda Seyfried a standout.
unlabelledView post →As someone who read The Housemaid trilogy by Freida McFadden, the trailer for the new movie looks *awful*. The trailer gives off bad love triangle vibes in the style of 'A Simple Favor', and it's NOTHING like that. Ugh.
